Show Notes

SS102fm invite Aoife McGrath (St Patrick's College, Maynooth), Noirin Lynch (Margaret Aylward Centre, Dublin) and Martin Kennedy (Pastoral Development and Facilitator) to our kitchen table discussion and to share their thoughts and experience about what our faith communities can learn from our Covid-19 experience.

We have an interesting and humorous sharing of thoughts looking at what we did well, identifying the challenges and gaps that arose and looking to the future what we could learn and where we might go as a faith community.

Focusing on the manifestation of Gospel values in the actions of community spirit during the lockdown we discuss the multi-generational experience where faith became something for life rather than living a life for faith. We discuss the challenges of things like the digital divide in supporting individuals and families and how it posed a challenge to how we are used to "doing" church rather than "being" church. Finally we look to the future and how we need to create spaces for people to reflect on what has happened in small bite size ways where we accompany each other on the journey ahead.

Note - due to stricter enforcement of the BAI broadcasting rules, we can only use 30 sec of music on uploads which are broadcast on West Limerick 102fm.
