Ross Herosian:

Welcome to another episode of The Marketing clarity podcast. Happy to have you here. If you're new, and you like what you hear, I'd love it. If you hit that subscribe button, left a review, that would be so nice of you. And if you're returning Well, I would also be nice of you to do. On today's show, I want to talk to you about oomph. And, um, as it relates to your marketing. Now, if you have listened to the show before, you might have heard me talk about how much I love basketball. I'm recording this, and we just the NBA Playoffs just started. I'm super psyched about that. I love basketball. I mean, I love playing games, but I think more so for me. I also just enjoy shooting hoops alone, right? I think we all have like our moment of Zen activity. And that's one that's just really gives me like just such clarity of mind is just going out and shooting hoops for an hour or so. Really, really enjoy it. So when we moved to Florida recently, we are in a house with a pool. And one of the first things that I had to do had to do had to do was Well, I'm sure you're thinking oh, Ross, I don't know, change your address, get new insurance, change your bank information. No, no, no, that wasn't the first thing I had to do. First thing I had to do was get a basketball hoop for the pool. All right, priorities, people priorities. And recently, my brother in law and his wife came over, and we were shooting pool hoops. And I gotta tell you, my brother in law's wife surprised me. She had quite quite a game. She was she was just just swishing shots. And yeah, it was really impressive. And I believe I complimented her on it and she said, Well, my dad, when we were kids, he trained us. And he used uhm, and um, what the hell is what is that? She said, Well, uhm, is like how hard the you shoot the shot, right? So, so, essentially, distance, right? Is that you know, does it claim off the backboard? Or does it barely or did you airball, right? That's what affects the oomph. Mmm hmm. had to do with the finesse, if you will. So left, right. You know, actually kind of zero when we mean the shot, right? You can, you know, have you can shoot the ball, and it may be the perfect distance, but if it's way off to the left, of course, you're gonna miss so that's where I'm, comes in. And I thought, in its simplistic kind of way, I like, I really like that, you know, you miss a shy like, oh, that needed more oomph, or needed Maloja tweak the LM for, like, I don't, I don't know if that's exactly what the Naismith or Coach K, or, you know, John Wooden methodology would have been, but I get it, I get it. And so I started thinking about that, and how it also kind of applies to your marketing. And so when we think about oof, and I'm with your marketing, for me, ooh, is your direction. Right? Like, are you going the right way? Right. And when we think about that, that's your goals. Have you set goals for your marketing for your business? Right. Hey, how do you know that you are starting with just going down the right road? That's woof. Woof is your goals. Now, then we get to Omp with your marketing. With UNP that is your strategies that help you accomplish your goals. Okay, so, you know, setting goals first, and then figuring out essentially the tactics or strategies that you're going to use to accomplish those goals. That's your own. So I think it's a very simple concept there, your marketing infant, um, you know, start with your goals, and then figure out the strategies that you need to employ to get you there. Because a very common thing that I see with clients is they work in reverse. They come to me, and they say, I want a new website, I want to do more video, I want to do SEO, and the thinking strategy, absent of goals. And so oftentimes, in my conversations with them, we can figure out if that strategy actually makes sense. Or, if in fact, that may not be the thing you need. This happens a lot with people who want or need new websites, I need a new website. Why do you? Why do you need a new website? Why do you want a new website? Get get more leads? Okay, well, I'm here to tell you, just making a new website doesn't get you more leads. Like when you make a new website, there's no, you know, alarm, or alert or update that Google sends out to every internet user on the planet and says, hey, check out this new website over here, you should go check it out, you should go and put your information in. So you can work with them doesn't happen. What in fact, you would need there is potentially SEO, maybe even potentially just website optimization, you might need to be doing ads, you may need even a better social strategy to drive traffic to a website to drive traffic to fill something out to increase awareness, first and foremost. So Oof. And um, think about it for your business. And if you are struggling with your booth, remember that your goals, strategies, I am here to tell you, I can help you and I can help you for less than 10 bucks. Yeah. $9 is all it costs. I have recently launched a new program inside my marketing clarity community, which is linked in the description for this episode, and is called the marketing clarity guide. And it's the DIY marketing clarity guide. And it is a program that I've used with dozens of small business owners to help them create their customized actionable marketing and content plan. And now what I have done is I have made it completely on demand with videos that I've recorded, the types of conversations I've had with these clients, downloadable worksheets, everything, you get everything that I offered to clients when I did this program with them, and you get it, and you can do it at your own pace. If you spend, I'd say an hour or two a week, you can probably knock it out in three, three weeks or so. If you spend more than that, obviously, you can get it done faster. So that's a great first step to figuring out that oomph. I encourage you again is the DIY marketing clarity guide. I'll link to it in the description for this episode. And that is all I have this time around. So until next time, I encourage you to keep pedaling
