Hello. In today's podcast, I'm going to teach on an important subject that seems to be a real struggle in our day and age among young message believers. I want to address the issue of concealer and look and see is, is this paint, is this makeup, and is this something that would be allowed?

All right, everyone, welcome to the podcast, and so glad that you tuned in and are listening, either listening or watching this on YouTube or Facebook. And this is a, this is a topic that's come up a few times recently, and just by observation this is something that is I guess it's becoming prevalent. I would say from, from my personal observation, I see quite a few sisters wearing concealer. And I, I think there's some confusion about it. And well, before I get into my own convictions about it let's, let's, let's bring up I'm going to bring up a PowerPoint, and that's the end of it. So I'm going to go to the beginning and we're looking at concealer, and we're just gonna start by just putting down some basic principles. Look, you know, we can, I've preached against makeup for quite a number of years now, and continue to do that.
I've, I've taught about this in a number of nations in the, around the world. And this, the purpose for this is not to go into every detail. I have other videos that I go into detail and lay the foundation for that. So that's not what I'm doing right now. This is specifically looking at concealer and a, a, asking the question, is it makeup and is it forbidden? The my observation is people's viewpoint is concealer is perfectly acceptable and it isn't makeup. But I think we have a right to question this and examine it according to the scriptures and according to the message, it's all right. So, some just basic principles here. Strange. This is from a little book that I have called Strange Scriptures to the Western Mind. “It seems painting does not appear to have been by any means universal, among the Hebrews, references to it are few. And in each instance, it seems to have been unworthy of a woman of high character. Thus, Jezebel put her eyes in painting Second Kings 9:30. Jeremiah says, of the harlot city, though thou rentest thy face with painting, and Ezekiel again, makes it a characteristic of a harlot.” So let's read those scripture, second Kings nine 30. And when Jehu has come to Jeri, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her face and tired her head and looked out at a window. That part where it says tired or head, it means she put on a tiara. This whole situation is Jezebel. She's at this point in time, a grandmother, but this is her pride and inner pride. She paints her face and she puts on her tiara. She knows that Jehu coming to kill her, her son has been murdered, and grandson has been murdered.
And now he know, she knows Jay who's coming for him. So she goes like she's receiving her audience at her palace. Looks out the window in di saying, I'm going to die as a queen, Jeremiah 4:30. And when thou at spoiled, what will thou do? Thou close thyself with crimson. Thou with ornaments of gold, though thou rent face with painting and vain shall thou make thyself fair. Thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. Ezekiel 23:40, furthermore, that you have sent for men to come from far under whom a messenger was sent, and lo they came, for whom thou didst washed thyself, paint us thy eyes and es thyself with ornaments Again in each of these scriptures, it's connected with pride and vanity lack of repentance. It's connected with seeking to beautify yourself, and it's connected with playing the harlot. So very negative connotation that these scriptures connect this to.
Now, let's look what Brother Banham says. This is in 1952, August 10th, in the afternoon. I am the resurrection in the life. You know what a ha is down in the South? That's a spook. Alright? Let me tell you, listen, the only woman in the Bible that ever painted her face to meet a man was Jezebel. And God fed her to the dogs. So if you see any of those people that's supposed to be so good and got the Holy Ghost, you can say, how do you do miss dog meat? That's what God calls her, is dog meat for him. So you see, all right, so there we Brother Banham uses the terminology painting the face.
Excuse me. So there he calls it paint, which is, we got that you paint, paint your eyes, rentest your face, painted her face. So paint and we have the definition of paint as we look, look further in. Now, this is, this is the particular verse that people will use to say, well, I can, it's no problem. I can wear concealer or some kind of color. Brother Banham says, it's okay, but I want you to look at, let's look at this verse. All right, let's look at this quote, rather from why I'm against organized religion. November 11th, 1962, in the evening. Now, if you didn't have any hair and you wanted to wear some, it'd be all right. But wear one that looked like human. And if you didn't have any fingernails and you wanted to get some fingernails, don't get them like holes off of navy beans.
Get real fingernails. If you haven't got any of these things, it's all right. If you haven't got any teeth, get you some, if, if they make, make you some, get them. But don't pull your God-given teeth out just because they're a little crooked and they're good teeth to get some, don't dye your hair or something and look like that. Come out of some Meyer somewhere. Don't, if you're colorless and you wanna make yourself look like you got some color, it's all right, I imagine. But don't make yourself look like Jezebel, like a barn somewhere being painted. Now, context is important. Let's look, let's look at the whole picture. He says, don't, if you're colorless, you wanna make yourself look like some color. You got like, you got some color, it's all right. I imagine. Now, number one is, I imagine this is not a direct command, this is an allowance. And so when we look at this, we say, he's not saying that this is true across the board. He is limiting it, right? And get you some color. What does he mean by color? Does he mean rouge? Does he mean foundation? Does he mean concealer? What specifically does he mean?
Can you answer the question? No, you can't. You don't, you don't know exactly what he means. It could mean concealer, but I wanna show you another quote where Brother Benham speaks against that. So a again, broader context. If your hair, if your hair falls out, get some hair, wear some hair. If your fingernails fall off, get some fingernails. But don't get long fingernails. Don't get fingernail extensions and all this nonsense. Again, this is balance. Your fingernails have fallen off. Get a fingernail to replace it. I if your teeth fall out, get false teeth. What is he talking about? He's talking about people with medical issues. This isn't an allowance across the board. If your hair turns gray, he says it's okay to color it gray or, or to color it. But in other places, he says, color it. The color it originally was, alright, if you're colorless, want to make yourself look like you got some color, it's all right, I imagine.
But don't make yourself look like Jezebel, like a barn being painted somewhere. So there again, he's not speaking about every sister, every sister. If you feel like you're colorless, you can wear makeup. Brother Banham over and over and over again, condemns makeup, connects it with Jezebel, connects it with harlotry, connects it with sin. It's a sin to wear makeup. So what is he saying here? He's saying, if you have a medical condition and your face is very, very pale, you have no color in your face due to a medical condition you can do something to add color to it. But he says, don't make it look like Jezebel. Alright?
So I, you can't, you couldn't take this quote and make it be an allowance across the board. All this context is if you have a medical issue, if you have a problem, you can, you do everything to solve it, right? If you, if if you're pale and you want some color, you could go outside and go for a walk in the sun. You don't have, you don't have to immediately go to, oh, I'm pale, I need makeup. No makeup is a, is a sinful thing. That's like, that's like the last, last resort where you have a sickness and you can't go outside. Say for example, you're under a certain kind of cancer treatment and you're forced to stay inside and your face is so pale. Okay, brother Braham saying, I, I imagine that would be okay. He's not saying it is okay.
He's saying, I would imagine that would be okay. Not a commandment, but rather an implication of if you have a sickness, you can solve it with this. Now, let's look at c concealer. If you think it's not makeup, I'm going show you it absolutely is. Makeup, concealer or foundation, the basics Foundation and concealer are the dynamic duo of makeup. They may seem similar, but each has its unique. Purpose Foundation helps you achieve that smooth and even skin tone. While concealer is your trustee sidekick covering up blemishes and dark circles, it's very clear that concealer is makeup, concealer, and foundation is the dynamic duo of makeup. Ma, here's from the website, makeup.com. What is concealer? Concealer is similar to foundation, except it tends to be more pigmented and have a thicker consistency. Concealer is often applied to the top of foundation or a skin tint to add extra coverage in targeted areas, but it can also be used on top of bare skin.
What is concealer used for? You can use concealer in a shade that matches your skin tone to cover up breakouts and acne scars. Or pick one that's one or two shade lighter that you than your skin tone to brighten up dark circles in under the eye area. So, again, cons. Concealer is makeup. It goes hand in hand with foundation. Again, makeup.com, how to use concealer to cover breakouts, hard hide, dark circles, and more. All right, let's look at what Brother Banham says. All right, let me back up there. So it's is this clear? Concealer is pigmented, brother Banham says in the sermon, wedding supper, 1956, after the message last night, a poor sister come to him and said, you know what? She said, I've been using pancake makeup for a long time to hide pimples on my face. But said, when that preacher got through last night, I went and washed my face. That's right. God bless you, sister. You're not far from the kingdom of God. Yes, brother, get back to the old hewing line. She says, I've been using pancake makeup to hide pimples on my face.
What is concealer used for? It matches your skin tone to cover up breakouts and acne scars. I've been using pancake makeup for a long time to hide pimples on my face when that preacher, but said, when that preacher got through last night, I went and washed my face. That's right. God bless you, sister. You're not far from the kingdom. So here we have Brother Barham saying, this is, this is wrong. You shouldn't be doing it again. If you have a sickness, it's a one thing. But here he's saying someone has pimples or acne as it's referred to, and they're covering, they're using a pancake makeup to cover it up, a concealer to cover it up. And she says, I wash my face. And Brother Barham says, God bless you. You're not far from the kingdom. So she, he's encouraging women not to use pancake makeup to hide the pimples on their face.
Stay away from makeup in 1952, in July 19th, make the Valley full of ditches. Brother Branham says, but I think, did you ever notice the first woman that ever used makeup on her face? What happened to her? She was Jezebel. And you know what God did to her? He fed her to the dogs. So you see, that's dog meat. All right? Very harsh words. I'm, I'm not trying to be rude to people. I'm trying to point out to you by way of remembrance. This is the things that Brother Branham said. This is the things that he emphasized. Look at the word we saw before. Concealer is pigmented, right? Paint. So pigment, pigment is past tense, pigmented, past partisan, pigmented. What does it mean? Color with or as if with pigment. The therapy mask the appearance of stretch marks by pigmenting skin, middle English from Latin pigment from pary to paint. So we see that right there. Latin to paint. Pigment, pigment, pigment. So pigment is paint, and brother Branham is continually condemning, and the scripture is connecting paint to a negative thing to sinfulness. Again, we go back to what Brother Branham said here.
The only woman in the Bible that ever painted her face to be the man was Jezebel. And God fed her to the dogs. So if you see any of these people that's supposed to be so good and got the Holy Ghost, you could say, how do you do miss dog meat? That's what God calls her, is dog meat for him. And so I want to hear if you have any questions. I see, I see makeup and concealer as just a slippery slope. As with anything, as parents, if, if we as parents allow this in our homes, you can be sure that our children are going do it, but they're not going to do it in, in moderation. They're going to do it in excess. They're going to add foundation, they're going to add rouge. They're going to add eye makeup. They're going to add, start adding at him, lipstick, these different things.
The purpose of makeup is to appear sexy. We've talked about this before. The purpose of makeup, the rouge, the lipstick, is to mimic this all mimics what it mimics what a woman looks like when she is aroused. This is something that's between a, a husband and a wife. Only in the covenant of marriage, A and makeup turns these things on their head. Concealer and foundation, you're putting on your face. A put on is something that's fake. It's not real. Brother Banham says, should you make her wipe wash her face and she'd look horrible underneath it? You see, and you see that you can, you, you, many of you probably have seen the pictures of celebrities with and without makeup. They look horrible without it. Well, women that don't wear makeup and never wear makeup, what is it? And they take care of their face.
They, they use nice products to take care of their face. What is it? There's a glow. There's, there's a beauty there. But adding makeup to it, there's, there's all kinds of carcinogenic things in makeup. It, it starts to rob the color of your face. It starts to, it makes you look artificial. It's not beautiful. It's a fake. And I don't believe that's what the will of the Lord is. I don't believe that's what the prophet taught. We're, we're letting sin and wrong things creep into our homes. And it's up to us as dads and as moms to teach the right things to our children and to keep, keep makeup out of your home. Say, my kids are bringing makeup in the home. Yeah. Okay. Get, throw it out. Then. You have authority in your home. You live in my home. This isn't happening. Give it to me. Get rid of it and keep doing it. Take a stand. You don't have to be mean. You don't have to be rude. Be loving, be kind, and teach, you know, show them this. If you want my notes from this, I'll be glad to send to you. Just reach out to me@jasondemars.com and I'll send them your way. But the point being is take authority in your home. Don't be mean, don't be rude. Don't be legalistic, but teach them and have specific, draw a line and have standards.
Amen. So I'm just going to end it there. If you have any questions for me, let me know. I'm certainly open to any feedback, any questions, anything I, I appreciate you and may the Lord richly bless you.
