A Godly Home Starts With A Father Who Leads
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A lot of people want a stronger church while their home quietly weakens. We take the opposite route with Brother Jason DeMars, a missionary preacher from Phoenix, and ask what Scripture actually says about restoring family order and spiritual leadership where it matters most: the household.
We talk through headship as responsibility rather than force, and why “nurture and admonition” means fathers must teach, correct, and protect with patience instead of anger. The conversation ties Genesis to everyday life: men are called to work and guard, wives and husbands are meant to reflect godly character, and children should be trained intentionally rather than left to institutions, screens, or church programs. Along the way, we explore vision, surrendered ambition, and why a home without clear spiritual direction tends to drift.
We also cover harder themes the modern world avoids: purity, modest apparel, the responsibilities parents carry for their children, and the pressure culture puts on women and men to reject biblical roles. Whether you agree with every application or not, you’ll leave with a clear framework for building a Christian home, starting with prayer, Scripture, and consistent leadership.

Welcome And Missionary Background
SPEAKER_02Amen. God bless you, Saints. I want you to go ahead and have your seats. I guess we just went straight to the word in the morning. And I didn't really take any time to greet you or bring greetings to you or anything like that.
SPEAKER_01So my name is Brother Jason DeMars.
SPEAKER_02I'm from Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. And bring greetings to you from my pastor, Brother Aaron McGarry. And also bring greetings to you from my wife and my three daughters. I've been married for 23 years. And I've got three girls. 17, 15, and 8 years old. Amen. And so we just uh thank the Lord for his goodness in our lives. Amen. He always knows how to take care of us. I've been full-time on the missions field since August of 2012. Many years ago, I was once in banking. And the Lord called me to leave that behind. And go full time to preach in the word. And but God's been very gracious all this time. We have no salary or any promise of anything other than the promise of God. And so God, week by week, God is making a way. And so we thank the Lord for that. Amen. Just like Brother Branham, many times I thought I should go back and go find that banking job again. It's time to come off the field and be done. Amen. And truly, I prefer to be at home with my family. But when God calls you, you lay aside your own will and your own desires and you surrender them to him. To do his will and accomplish whatever purpose he has for us. So we're thankful to be here. It's an honor to serve the King of Kings and Lords. Amen. So we've been originally doing missions work with Iranians. In the Middle East, in Turkey. Many coming as refugees to live in Turkey. And with a team of brothers, we led many, many Muslims to Christ. And also worked on translation work into the Farsi language, Brother Branham's messages. And also then since 2017, started.
SPEAKER_01With Arabic speakers there.
SPEAKER_02And so we've been working with them to get more translations in the Arabic language. And I've been to Egypt two or three times a year, every year since 2017. And so there's a there's a church there, and there's some believers there in Egypt. So we thank the Lord for his goodness. And wanted to come back last year, but it didn't work out. And so but God saw fit to bring us here. And we got to get out and see uh the real Zambia. Getting up to Mpika Poracoso and Nikonde. People, uh words that Americans know nothing about.
SPEAKER_01And to Omuesasuchada, America.
SPEAKER_02Amen. So, but we were glad to go there and be an encouragement to the saints. Amen. So we thank the Lord. Wanna speak on a word family? Amen.
Why Family Becomes A Life Message
SPEAKER_02This has been a subject that's been very precious to me. It's one of those things that you grow up and maybe you don't hear it preached too often. And a few years ago, we were facing some things. And the Lord began to open these things up to my heart. And it was revolutionary for me and for my family. So, with that said, we'll stand again. And we'll turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 11. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, for as much as he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man. And then we turn to Ephesians 6, verse 4. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath. But bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, as we approach your word this afternoon, Lord, we ask that your Holy Spirit would come. Lord, and take this word and write it upon your people's hearts. Lord, you see the needs, Lord. I pray that you'd speak into every life. Father, you you you you know each person intimately. Lord, even to the very thoughts and intents of their heart, Lord. Even even to the place of the things, Lord, maybe that they've been they've been hurt, they've been they've been damaged in some way, Lord, but you are the the mender of the broken pieces. You're the healer of the broken pieces. So Lord, we ask that you'd come, Father, and through the teaching of the word, bring healing, bring deliverance, Lord, bring freedom, bring correction, and glorify your name, Lord. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you. You can be seated. So women
Headship And Reflection In Marriage
SPEAKER_02are the glory of the man, is what the scripture tells us.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02And man is the image and glory of God. So when we look at this, it's speaking of reflection. And the woman is to reflect the heart and the character of her husband. Amen. Then you see the other part is that God places fathers in a place of leadership, headship. But the primary place of that is teaching. The Bible says nurture and admonition. This speaks of teaching through the application of the teaching. Through correction and instruction. And so the fathers are overseeing the family. And the raising of children. So that they're being taught the word of the Lord. Amen. And so even in the application of godliness. And the raising of children. We don't raise sons the same way we raise daughters. Amen. God has a specific purpose and plan for sons. And he has a specific purpose and plan for daughters. Amen. So we're not raising them to be the same thing. We're raising them to see the purpose of God for them as individuals, male and female. So sons are to be in the family under preparation to find their life mission. Daughters are to be in the family under preparation to be a helper.
SPEAKER_01A childbearer and a homemaker.
SPEAKER_02God wants to restore family order. Amen. Not according to American culture. Or Asian culture. But the culture of the word. Amen. When we can understand the created order. Amen. How God has originally designed us. And we enter into that purpose. That's the place of freedom. That's the place of joy. Satan is a perverter. Satan tries to pervert the family. But God is a great God of restoration. Amen. Jesus says it wasn't so from the beginning.
SPEAKER_01A lack of leadership.
SPEAKER_02Submission. And a lack of passing the word on to your family. This wasn't God's design from the beginning. But I believe that God is bringing restoration to families.
SPEAKER_01So as we see the seven voices of the seven thunders, we're uttering under the opening of the seventh seal.
SPEAKER_02The restoration of the word in the hearts of believers. The bride actually becomes the perfect reflection of her husband. She becomes the glory of Christ. Amen. As the scripture said, the woman is the glory of the man. The bride is to be the glory of Christ. Amen. And that comes to fullness because of the opening of the seven seals. And in turn, when we come to come down into our own lives, we're going to need to see a reflection of Christ and our bride in our own homes. Christ and his bride in our own homes. So if a man is a reflection of God, the man must have God's vision for himself. And for his family.
Vision Driven Manhood And Surrender
SPEAKER_02So where do we find God's vision? We find it in the Word. But then God has a calling for each individual of what they're to enter into. Whether it be whatever career that is that God has called a man to. He's given each person a certain gifting that they're born with. And you should find what that gifting is. Amen. Whether it be a banker or a lawyer or a doctor. And you should work towards that vision. Developing your skills in that area. And so if when a man has a God's vision for himself and for his family, then the woman to be reflection of her husband, she can then enter into that vision. And be a reflection of that same vision to the children and to the world. Amen. And on the one hand, God has a vision, the same vision for all men and for all women. The principles that he is applied in his word. But then secondarily, each individual is going to be expressing Christ in a different way. And you need to find that way and walk in that way. Amen. So we as the bride, we take the mind of Christ. Christ doesn't take the mind of the bride. So must our wives take forth the mind the purpose and the vision of her husband and become a reflection of that. Amen. And so this is how crit that's why it's so critical for the husband to lead with God's vision. Amen. It should put you as men in desperation to hear the voice of the Lord. And to walk in it and follow that. Otherwise, and especially as young men. A young man without the Holy Ghost and without the vision of God for his life. Should never bring a woman into that equation. And young lady, you should have this, I should say, fathers of young ladies. And young ladies in turn. If the young man doesn't have the Holy Ghost and that vision, that he knows the direction. Amen. It's not going to produce the right thing. Brother Branham says, I like a man of vision. I like people that's got something they're fighting for. Just not just lay around and say, well, whatever comes my way will be alright.
SPEAKER_01Oh, be up and at it.
SPEAKER_02And he says, and President Lincoln never let his education stand in the way. He had something to do. I think every Christian ought to be that way. Find your purpose and go do it. Amen. So find have a vision. Have the audacity to walk in that vision. Amen. But you're finding it from the Lord. Amen. And Brother Branham says again.
SPEAKER_01When I had hear of a church that hasn't got any ambition to grow, there's something wrong with that church.
SPEAKER_02The Church of the Living God has a high ambition. And another thing, the Church of the Living God is built high because it's got high anticipations and expectations. His ambitions is high. Amen. Then the third quote I want to bring to paint the picture is Brother Branson. But before I say about Moses, I'd like to make this statement. That God has to take any man that will serve him truly to be his prisoner. A man's got to surrender every ambition he's got. Everything that he is. His life, body, will, ambitions, and everything else, and become a complete prisoner to Christ, who is the Word. In order to serve God. Amen. So we're seeing that our ambition is coming from the Almighty. It's not our own desire. We're going to Him, we're hearing from heaven. And then we're walking forward. And with high expectations that He's going to open doors, that He's going. To provide. Amen. Because once we hear the word from him, then we have the confidence
Why Fathers Matter In Outcomes
SPEAKER_02and the audacity to follow what God wants us to do. Amen. So looking at this, I'm using some statistics from the United States.
SPEAKER_01But they think this is applicable everywhere.
SPEAKER_02It's the importance of fathers. The number one indicator of people falling into a life of crime is that the home doesn't have a father in it. Fatherless homes produce 63% of youth suicides.
SPEAKER_01But without the father's participation in this, it's just mom driving.
SPEAKER_02So you can see that it's critical. Fathers be involved in leading their families spiritually. Amen. 1 Timothy 5 8. Says, but if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he's denied the faith and is worse than an infidel. Amen. So it's the per it's the position of a father to be a provider. Amen. And of course, this portion is speaking about providing natural things for his family. Amen. But it goes beyond that. It's providing protection, love, and nurturing, and that's the place that the Father occupies. And Paul is saying there's three different types of men in the world. The best one is a Christian that provides for his family. The next best one is an unbeliever that provides for his family. And the worst one is the one that claims to be a Christian. But doesn't provide for his family. That's the worst one. You're not even doing what the natural man does. So manliness starts with leadership. And having a vision and a purpose and working with audacity to fulfill that purpose. Amen. Ephesians 5 23 for the husband is the head of the wife. Even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the savior of the body. Amen. So it's it speaks of being
Genesis Design To Work And Guard
SPEAKER_02headship, speaks of being chief or ruler. Amen. So the husband is the leader, the ruler of the family. Amen. Just as Christ is the head of the church, the husband is the headship of his wife. Amen. There's no other man, pastor. No one can is coming between this relationship. Alright. Genesis chapter 1. Genesis speaks of the creation of man. Of course, first being in spirit form. He's made in the image and likeness of God. He's to be a reflection of the invisible God. And that's both in male and female form.
SPEAKER_01But he doesn't yet separate them.
SPEAKER_02But even at that stage, he gives them two commandments.
SPEAKER_01It says to be fruitful.
SPEAKER_02And he also says to multiply. So the purpose of creation of man. Excuse me, I said that wrong. Is to two parts of it is to be to multiply. And to take dominion. So the two parts. Amen. And so first is he's to multiply, and then he is to take dominion. And so the man was made for dominion. The Bible says the man is the stronger vessel. The woman is the weaker vessel. Man can take dominion. But he cannot multiply himself. Without the woman. Amen. So together, these two which are one, accomplish the purpose of God. The man is for dominion. And the woman was made so the man could multiply himself. And we find that in Genesis chapter 2.
SPEAKER_01Verse 15. It says, And the Lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
SPEAKER_02Amen. So even there in the Garden of Eden, already there was a devil. There was a tempter. Amen. There was an evil one. That Adam had to keep the garden. So two parts. Adam was commanded, given two things.
SPEAKER_01And to keep.
SPEAKER_02To dress means to work or to labor. Amen. So it's he Adam is first given as a provider. To work and to provide. That's one for one with manhood. Is we're called to work. We're designed to work. That's not the fall that makes us work. It's the original creation that puts us to work. The fall makes the work frustrating. Makes it difficult with thorns and thistles. But work was there in the paradise. And the next part that he says is to keep. And that means to guard. Or generally to protect. So he's to work.
SPEAKER_01And he's to protect.
SPEAKER_02That's why the man is the stronger vessel. And so there we have the even before the fall. Man is a protector. Amen. So when you see the serpent coming to the garden to speak to Eve, we see that the devil likes to be out of order.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02The devil wants to approach your wife while you're not paying attention in order to get into your family.
SPEAKER_01This should not be so as men who are watching.
SPEAKER_02We're overseeing our family, and we're making sure that our family is protected. That when God gives this duty to Adam, He gives it to every man. Amen. So, men, you want to know what you're supposed to do in life? God is speaking to you. He's giving you instruction. Amen. The next we could see is Adam received the word of the Lord, the commands of God. Before his wife was ever there. He was given the commandment. And then it was God's purpose. Not for God Himself to come and tell Eve. But for Adam to speak the word of the Lord to Eve. And he must come and tell her, this is what we must not do. This is what God commands. Amen. So we so we see that this is God's purpose for husbands. Amen. To lead spiritually. To be a teacher. Amen. As you'll see, Brother Branham speaking about this. Many times you'll see him saying, You women that cut your hair. Shame on you, men. And but then he starts to break it down and he said, You should set down. And speak to your wife. And show her what the word of God says. Amen. And reason it out from the Bible. I mean, just as the scripture says, speaking the truth with anger, right? It's not speaking the truth with anger.
SPEAKER_01Speaking the truth in love.
SPEAKER_02Amen. And it's it even says the the the minister of the word must be patient. Amen. Instructing those that oppose themselves. Amen. And so it's there needs to be within our teaching as fathers and as husbands, patience. Amen. Again, we can lose track and think we are the head so essential by force use our strength to force our force our family. We don't use force. Amen. We use charisma. Amen. We use gravitas. So what what am I saying? Amen. You're a leader. You lead with love. So you're leading in such a way that the people that are under your headship are appreciating. Your leadership. Because they know that you love them. And it's coming from your heart. Amen. It's coming out of a connection with your family. Amen. It's not coming out of from a distant
Teaching Without Anger Or Provoking
SPEAKER_02king. Amen. This is the this is the Bible calls your wife the companion of the covenant. Amen. So there has to be that heart connection. So you come, and when you when many times what ends up happening is this. In a family, you see, slowly. We're allowing some things we shouldn't allow. And little by little we've gotten away from what we should get. And as a father, you're coming by prayer.
SPEAKER_01You're not coming by anger. Hey, you bunch of rebels.
SPEAKER_02You're coming by prayer and you're gathering your family for a meeting. Let's open with a word of prayer. Let's sing a song together. What are you doing? You're creating an atmosphere. The Holy Spirit comes into your midst. I think we've been becoming a little too worldly.
SPEAKER_01We've been allowing things we shouldn't allow. Let's look to the scriptures.
SPEAKER_02Let's turn in our Bibles. Let's look at this verse. This is what God is speaking to me. Amen. This is a different totally different approach. Than suddenly coming upon them. Daughter, what are you doing? Why are you wearing this? Why are you doing this? You're asking for rebellion. Amen. We create an atmosphere. Amen. And it says, provoke not your children to wrath. How do you provoke your children to wrath? By being wrathful yourself. You being angry, provoke your children to anger. Amen. The Bible says the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. Amen. The Bible says in Proverbs chapter 22. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Who is supposed to do that?
SPEAKER_02Whose duty is that? Pastor?
SPEAKER_01Mubusa? Apostle? Mutumi? Oh, school teacher? University professor? No. Mom and dad.
SPEAKER_02It's dad and mom's position to take the time to train their children. And I'll put it this way: if we don't, it's a sin. It's sinful for fathers not to follow through and do what the word says. It's sinful for fathers to leave this job to mother. It is the duty of fathers to teach and instruct. And mother is also a helper within that. She is also in the home to teach and instruct the children in the Word of God. Amen. As a side note, in Scripture, it says that the aged women should teach the younger women to be chaste. Keepers at home. Good and obedient to their own husbands. Amen. And so the older sisters have an obligation to be an example and to be a teacher to the younger sisters. Amen. Alright. So then we go a little step further to what does headship actually mean? And we turn to Numbers chapter 30. And verse 3.
SPEAKER_01If a woman also vow a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth, and her father
What Biblical Authority Actually Means
SPEAKER_01hear her vow.
SPEAKER_02And her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul. And her father shall hold his peace at her. Then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand. But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth, not any of her vows or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand. And the Lord shall forgive her because her father disallowed her. And if she had at all in husband when she vowed or uttered out of her lips where we she hath bound her soul. And it continues on with the same instructions. So we see the Bible tell shows us that the the husband has a dis and the father has a decision-making authority. Amen. And so the in in society we don't know what your rules are here. But in America, back in the early 1900s, the woman got the right to vote. And it changed the nature of the household. It's not just, oh, it's so bad because women don't wouldn't know how to vote. Although, as you see in America, if you study the politics at all, the women vote for the godless people. It's taking the country to this place where it's totally turned away from the truth of God. But the point is this is when you give woman the vote, it splits the family. And husband and wife are no longer one, they're two. Amen. Every Christian society, when it believed the word of God, set it up so that the head of the household was the one that was making the vote. And the whole society was built around the fact that the husband was the deciding factor for his family. So husbands could fulfill contracts. When you change the laws and you change the institutions of a country. And the father hears it. And he says, No, you can't do that. We're not going to allow that. God himself is saying, Okay, I heard the father. And that is the decision I am accepting. So for this young lady to make this vow, is she is forgiven. Even God Himself is looking at the daughter and saying, I'm forgiving you because of the word of your father or your husband. So who is answering to God? The ladies might say, hey, that's not fair. I want to make my own decisions. Then you will answer to God for them. And then in turn, for us as husbands and fathers, we should realize this is a fearful thing in the sight of God. Because even in this place where it says the daughter makes a decision, and the father says nothing. Even in this situation, God is looking at the father and saying, This was the father's decision. So either way, if you're a man that's passive, you're still going to answer for the decisions of those who are under your authority.
SPEAKER_01Instead of being passive, be involved.
SPEAKER_02Amen. Discuss things over with your family. Amen. It's not a matter of being some dictator. Treat your wife like a doormat, like she's an idiot. That's not what the word is telling us. This leadership is to be out of agape love. Amen. And so when you say no, I've seen it myself. People will ask my daughters things and they say yes. And they come back and say, Dad, this is what happened, and this is what I'm supposed to be doing. No.
SPEAKER_01You're not doing that.
SPEAKER_02She says, Oh, thanks, Tad. It takes the pressure off. It's so bad I didn't want to say no, but I didn't want to do it.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02And that you should look at it that way. It's not a means of controlling.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02It's a means of being in the order that God has designed. When we can both come into the order that God has designed, it's not a terrible thing, it's a delight. The problem is in our modern world, they're preaching feminism everywhere. And this spirit of feminism is destroying seeking to destroy the entire world. By the wrong decisions made in politics. Amen.
Modern Feminism Versus Word Order
SPEAKER_02And so you look at all of these things happening. Woman has been designed differently than a man. She has a different function and purpose. A woman leads by collectively seeing what everybody wants to do. She wants to receive consensus from everyone. When this attitude is untethered from the Word of God, suddenly you see the liberal women. Oh, I feel so much compassion.
SPEAKER_01That's good.
SPEAKER_02God designed a woman to have compassion. The home needs this. Even if we as men we need this voice speaking to us. When that heart of a woman becomes separated from a man, and then it's given power in society. God doesn't operate by consensus. And he doesn't make his decisions based only on compassion. First, it is filtered by truth. By light. By not by what is just fair. But by what's right. Because by what's right, we'll bring destruction down the road. Amen. And so in America, we just speak about America. In America, it's the white liberal woman. She will destroy the whole society and herself. In order that she doesn't hurt anybody's feelings. And this is what you see. The country has become open to every perversion. It's allowing Muslims to sweep across the country. Hindus to s Hinduism to sweep across the country. And meanwhile, they're saying, don't have any children. If it's inconvenient for you, get an abortion. And they're voting for their candidates. I'll just vote for this candidate because he lets me murder my unborn child. This is what has been let in. The moment that the woman got the vote in America.
SPEAKER_01This is what Brother Branham said.
SPEAKER_02The perversion of our women comes from them getting the vote.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02But praise God, there's a bride of Jesus Christ. And there's a real women that are following the word of God.
SPEAKER_01And they might be few.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, they're out there. Amen. And so a woman is given three sacred trusts. And Brother Random speaks about this in the Invisible Union. He says, now notice now. We find that her body is the bedding grounds. Therefore, it's a sacred trust not to defile that. And he says, she has a sacred trust of virtue committed to her by her Lord.
Three Sacred Trusts And Virginity
SPEAKER_01Nothing else holds it but a woman.
SPEAKER_02And that's committed to her by God. She must not defile that virtue. And then he says, now we find out that she's been given this sacred trust that she must not break.
SPEAKER_01Of womanhood.
SPEAKER_02Act, have her character, raise her children. Be honorable to her husband. So three sacred trusts. Her body. And her womanhood. So what is that? So this is her body means speaking of the value of purity, of virginity.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02Man has always not valued virginity the way God values it. And so God calls a woman to keep her body pure. And the second part is virtue. Virtue means strength. Amen. That's your ability to say yes or no. And then the third part is womanhood. Which says the character and conduct of a woman to her family. So again, three sacred trusts. Ladies, repeat them after me. Body. Virtue. Womanhood. Amen. That's the three sacred trusts. Every dad and every ma mother should be teaching the three sacred trusts. Every one of them. Very important. Amen. So Deuteronomy chapter 22. Break this down a little further. Verse 13. If any man take a wife and go in unto her and hate her, and give occasions of speech against her. And bring up an evil name upon her. And say, When I took this woman and when I came to her, I found her not a maid. Then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity. Unto the elders of the city in the gate. And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders I gave my man unto my daughter unto this man to wife. And he hates her. We'll just stop there for a moment. When Jesus speaks about marriage, he's talking about the days as it was in the days of Noah. He doesn't just say, and they'll marry. But he says, and they'll marry. And be given in marriage. So we see that daughters are given in marriage. Sons get married. So I gave my daughter unto this man unto this man to wife. So the father, by an act of his will, transferred headship from himself to a young man. Amen. And so there we continue in verse 17. And lo, he's given occasions of speech against her. Saying, I found not thy daughter a virgin. And yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. And so we're looking at this picture here. And it's very strange to us. But what God is trying to put forward here is the value of virginity. Because we'll read the next part and it seems very brutal.
SPEAKER_01But I want you to see that the picture is.
SPEAKER_02This is telling the truth or lying about virginity. So, in other words, the the young man is accusing them, the father and the daughter, of fraud. You've committed an act of fraudulent virginity. So they're to come and go before public. Before the elders of the city. And spread forth the cloth to show the tokens of virginity.
SPEAKER_01And so if it's proven, she was a virgin.
SPEAKER_02And it says, the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him. And they shall immerse him in a hundred shekels of silver and give them unto the father of the damsel. Because he's brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife. And he may not put her away all his days. Amen. So you can see God is being very careful about how he sets these things forward.
SPEAKER_01So if this man brings a false accusation, they don't just say, oh well.
SPEAKER_02I guess it was false. No. They bring he bring this accusation is false. This man has three things has to be done. First, the elders take take a stick. I don't know how many elders. Many elders. I guess they grab the man and put him put him on the wall. And they start to beat him and whip him. Amen. They have to beat him. So it's a sh this he's been a sh he's ashamed in front of the whole village, the whole city. Then he has to pay a hundred shekels of silver. To the father. Okay. Next. No divorce. You can never leave this woman.
SPEAKER_01You are stuck forever.
SPEAKER_02Amen. So you see, it's consequences for making a false accusation.
SPEAKER_01But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel, then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house.
SPEAKER_02And the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die. Because she has wrought folly in Israel.
SPEAKER_01To play the whore in her father's house.
SPEAKER_02So shall thou put away, put evil away from among you. So it's very symbolic.
SPEAKER_01They've committed fraud.
SPEAKER_02They lied to this. My daughter is a virgin. And she wasn't a virgin. So then they bring her and they stone her.
SPEAKER_01What is this telling us?
SPEAKER_02The father is the guarantor of his daughter's virginity. The father with mama as his helper.
SPEAKER_01He's the one that's watching over her.
SPEAKER_02Protecting her heart. Ensuring that when she delivers him, that girl to a young man, they all know that she's a virgin. And so, as a father, it's our duty to be sure our daughters know. What a precious thing. Their virginity is. Amen. And her purity. Amen. To have those boundaries. To know to keep the young men away. And not allow them to come too close. Young ladies should learn to be able to have a godly rudeness. To be able to look at that young man and say, no. Amen, because you understand, you've been taught and you know. The value of your purity. Amen. Amen. And it's not just the sex acts you're protecting from, it's all that goes along with that. Not even to the place where Brother Branham says you shouldn't even kiss each other until you're married. The first kiss is at the altar after the minister says, your husband and wife. But you understand, you read between the lines. God values your purity. And your body is reserved for a man that God has ordained for you.
SPEAKER_01Fathers and young men.
SPEAKER_02It's your duty to also be a protector. Even to deacons and assistant and associate ministers. We're watching out for the purity of our girls. Amen. Not because we want to control them. Amen. And so then the other one that we look at is in Exodus 22. And the other part of that in this, you'll see the punishment for fraudulent virginity. Is death for the girl.
SPEAKER_01But if they were just honest about it, there is forgiveness.
SPEAKER_02But even within that, if you're familiar with what Brother Branham speaks about this subject,
Modesty And The Purpose Of Clothing
SPEAKER_02a woman that commits a fornication, she can be forgiven, but she can never be justified in this life. Then because there's a defilement that takes place, you can't reverse. Even as medical science is discovering that the DNA of the man will stay there. It will remain in the woman. And so there is a place where there is a defilement that takes place that's not reversible in this life. And so it's a very grave subject. So, Exodus 22, 16.
SPEAKER_01And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
SPEAKER_02Amen. So if a young man, this is enticing, it's not speaking about raping. It's to commit this act.
SPEAKER_01It says he's going to have to get married to her.
SPEAKER_02You're obligated to get married. But the father has the right of refusal. If her father utterly refused to give her unto him, the young man still has to pay the dowry of virgins. Amen. So again, Paul even says, he that is joined unto harlot is one flesh. Amen.
SPEAKER_01And so we see again what God is valuing.
SPEAKER_02Those three sacred trusts that are given to a woman. And that a and that a father must teach and oversee. And be the guardian and protector of. Amen. 1 Timothy chapter 2. In like manner also, this verse 9. In like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel. So the apostle is speaking about how women should dress. And if you ever if you ever speak what the word says, they'll let you know really quickly that you're a legalist. And that you're just preaching a closed line religion. But this isn't the issue, and that's a separate thing. The issue is what does the word say? Amen.
SPEAKER_01They say, well, it's just cultural.
SPEAKER_02The scripture never uses the culture. If you look at what the apostle uses as his argument, it's nothing to do with culture. So the Bible says women should dress themselves in modest apparel.
SPEAKER_01This word apparel.
SPEAKER_02In English, that means a general term for clothing. But in the Greek, this is not a general term for clothing.
SPEAKER_01In fact, it's very detailed.
SPEAKER_02It's the word in Greek, it's two parts to the word. It means kata kata and stole. Stole speaking of the long tunic. Of the time. It's a specific type of clothing.
SPEAKER_01But the word kata means letting down or a lowering.
SPEAKER_02So kata means a lowering. So what is what is the apostle saying? That the women should dress themselves in a modest, long dress. Or skirt. Amen. And so even we can go back to the beginning. When God spoke to Adam and Eve. And he dressed them in coats of skins. So we have two fashion designers at the beginning.
SPEAKER_01Adam and Eve.
SPEAKER_02They fashioned themselves for a fig leaf. They made the first bikinis. And they only covered just a small part of their body. And God comes and says, You're naked. They thought they were covering their nakedness. But God says they were still naked. Why do we see that? Because when God clothed them, he was the second clothes designer. And he gave them coats of skins. And if you drill down and look at this word, coats is the Hebrew word kutanet. And this speaks of the ordinary clothes that a person would wear. Amen. And so we see then from Scripture that the purpose of clothing is to cover the nakedness. Amen. Not to reveal the nakedness. But to cover the body. And as Paul says, it should be characterized by modesty. Amen. Sometimes we can get confused in the message.
SPEAKER_01As long as I'm wearing a skirt that goes below my knees, it's fine.
SPEAKER_02No, it might not be fine. Because the clothes are not to reveal every contour of the body.
SPEAKER_01But it's to be modest.
SPEAKER_02Amen. So women should adorn themselves in a modest long skirt or dress. One that goes below the knees. Amen.
SPEAKER_01Even when you're sitting down, may it go below the knees.
SPEAKER_02Amen. And he says it should be characterized with shamefacedness and sobriety. It speaks of shamefacedness, speaks of being shy. What you're wearing would show that you're not trying to reveal yourself and to get attention to yourself.
SPEAKER_01You're trying to neat and clean.
SPEAKER_02And dressing nicely. But not trying to draw attention to yourself. And the word sobriety is similar to the word modesty. In a way you can look at it and say balanced. Not to the extremes. Amen. You don't have to dress like a Muslim, covering yourself from head to toe. But also, you're not dressing like these women that are trying to reveal their every contour of their body to the man.
SPEAKER_01He says, not with broided hair.
SPEAKER_02Or gold or pearls or costly array. This is speaking of a way that they did their hair. They would weave the gold and pearls into long strands. And then they would braid them into their hairs. So that in their hair they would have golden pearls. Amen. So he's he's there's a specific thing. He's saying, don't flaunt your wealth. Amen. If you're a wealthy person, don't be trying to put it on display all the time.
SPEAKER_01Be modest.
SPEAKER_02Verse 10. But which becometh women, professing godliness with good works. But let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
SPEAKER_01But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man. But to be in silence.
SPEAKER_02So this is what this is Paul giving a commandment, an order to the churches. And he's giving them an argument of why this is true. And he says, for Adam was first formed, then Eve. So Adam is in a leadership position. Because God made him first. And within that, let's go further. Adam gave the name, two names. To the woman. First was woman. Adam in in Hebrew, the man means Ish. Woman is Isha. What does woman mean? Taken out of man. Next he called, he named her Eve. That she was the mother of all living. So it shows Adam's authority over the woman. He was created first. He was given the commandment to pass on. And he named her two different times. And then we see the outworking of what happened. And Adam was not deceived. But the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Amen. So we're looking at this in the terms of leadership. And it says the woman is more easily deceived than the man.
SPEAKER_01And because she's more easily deceived, she should not be in a position of leadership.
SPEAKER_02Amen. And so in the Bible says this that when a nation is under a curse, that they're led, that they're led by well, it's a sign that a nation is under a curse. Amen. Any church whose pastor is a woman. They're under a curse. It's a sign, immediate sign. Screaming. We don't believe the word of God. No matter what they say. By their actions they say, we don't believe God. Amen. It's a total perversion. A
Women’s Roles In Church And Home
SPEAKER_02woman is not designed to lead in the home. Nor in the church. Nor in the civil government. Amen. Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing. If they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Amen.
SPEAKER_01So a woman is saved by the same as a man.
SPEAKER_02In Christ, there is neither male nor female.
SPEAKER_01All are one in Christ.
SPEAKER_02And yet we all know that a Jew is a Jew and a Greek is a Greek. A man is a man and a woman is a woman. A slave is a slave and a free man is a free man. What is it trying to say then? It says in Christ we all have equal value. Direct and equal action. Access to salvation. No woman has to go through another man to her husband to salvation.
SPEAKER_01Even as the Bible said.
SPEAKER_02If if the husband is an unbeliever, the wife is a believer, then the children, still the children are holy. Amen. They're not illegitimate. They're legitimate children. Because they're sanctified by the faith of their mother. And it says, even the wife, she can win her husband without the word. By her character and contact before her eyes. So she's not saved if she has children.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_02And it also doesn't mean that she'll never experience sorrow or even death from childbearing.
SPEAKER_01So what is Paul saying?
SPEAKER_02As we've said before, God has ordained a function and purpose for a woman that's different than a man. And so he's saying, uh, generally speaking, I know there's some women, they're not able to have children. There's some women, maybe they're given the the they're gifted to remain single.
SPEAKER_01Uh Paul speaks about that.
SPEAKER_02And so they can serve the Lord. But generally speaking, a woman that is is saved, she will manifest the attitude of being motherly. She'll not only bear children, she'll raise children. And so an outworking of godliness for the woman is motherliness. If they continue in faith and love and holiness with sobriety. And to say again, the mother is to be a teacher in the home. Not to teach her husband, but to teach her children. She's to take this duty seriously. And the Bible even instructs sons to not forsake the teaching of their mother. So giving so God giving the responsibility of the father to teach and instruct the family doesn't take the need away from mother to be also a teacher. She's teaching her sons and daughters the truth of the word of God. The principles of and character of godliness. Alright, so Titus 2.3. The aged women likewise. That they may be in behavior as becomes holiness. Not false accusers. Not given to much wine. Teachers of good things. Amen. That they may teach the young women to be sober. Amen. So it's it's all surrounding the home and godliness. That's their teaching. So the older women teach the younger women to be sober. To love their husbands. To love their children.
SPEAKER_01To be discreet.
SPEAKER_02Chaste, keepers at home. Good. Obedient to their own husbands. That the word of God be not blasphemed. Amen. So part of
Older Women Training Younger Women
SPEAKER_02the original vow of marriage in the English language. For marriage is that a woman promises to obey her husband.
SPEAKER_01In the sight of doctrine.
SPEAKER_02And of course, if you go to a modern American wedding, they don't have this anymore.
SPEAKER_01Amen. But as message believers, we're still doing this.
SPEAKER_02We're following the biblical way. Part of wives, your obedience to the Lord is obeying your husband. Older sisters teach the younger sisters to be keepers at home. I have pages and pages and pages of quotes. Of Brother Branham saying, when a woman gets out of the kitchen, she's out of her place.
SPEAKER_01A woman belongs in the home. To be a housekeeper.
SPEAKER_02And to take care of her husband. To cook for him, to clean for him. Amen. So that the word of God would not be blasphemed. And so many times the society is teaching us and directing us to take this order out of our homes. And I have many quotes as well, pages and pages. Brother Branham's saying a woman doesn't belong in the workplace. Okay, we can give a list of a hundred reasons why we need to have two incomes.
SPEAKER_01The world is telling us.
SPEAKER_02Amen. We want to follow the scriptures. Not follow what society and culture is pushing us towards. We want to take God at His Word. God said, keep your wife at home.
SPEAKER_01If you do it in faith, if you walk in obedience, the same God will provide and multiply everything that you're doing.
SPEAKER_02In order that the word can come to pass in your life. Not only that, I've seen this as I've preached this around the world.
SPEAKER_01Testimonies are coming in.
SPEAKER_02Amen. God is a God that's faithful. If we follow the principles of the word, put them into practice, then we'll see God bring them those promises to our life. Not only goes that for our wives, then where are we aiming our daughters? Are we aiming our daughters for a university? And a career? Women absorb their atmosphere. And it won't be the right atmosphere. Brother Branham says, why would any godly man want his wife and an office with a bunch of crude men? Amen. Keep her in the right atmosphere at home. So the same applies to our daughters. Amen. We want to keep them in purity. And then we send them off to a university. Out from under our headship. And now we find they're defiled. Amen. I believe God can keep a young lady in the world. And I'm not trying to instruct you on every detail. But I'm trying to say, where are we aiming?
SPEAKER_01Where are we going?
SPEAKER_02Are we following the ways of the world? Or are we aiming our daughters the way the word says to aim our daughters?
SPEAKER_01Our sons rests upon them.
SPEAKER_02Amen. 1 Timothy 5 14. I will therefore that the younger women go to university and get a career. By the behavior of Christians, that's what you would think that this word, this scripture is saying. Bear children. Guide the house. And give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. Give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. Amen. So when we were not following what the word of God says, we're giving occasion to the devil. Now the devil can begin to work and pervert. Can I tell you what Brother Branham said? Are you interested? He said, get married young. And that's exactly biblical advice. Amen. We're telling kids to go off and wait until they're 25, 30 years old and established in life. No wonder there's fornication everywhere. Amen. God has put us in these human bodies. And he has a purpose for them and a function for them. And the apostle Paul says this to avoid fornication,
Marriage Young And Guarding The Home
SPEAKER_02every man go join a monastery. And every woman go to the convent. We even know that the monasteries and the convents are the places of perversion, anyways.
SPEAKER_01It's contrary to nature.
SPEAKER_02Amen. God designed us to have these desires in our bodies. Amen.
SPEAKER_01And when we're delaying marriage a long time, an occasion to the adversary.
SPEAKER_02Amen. And that's why he says, I would that the younger women marry. Let every man have his own wife. Amen. So God and he says don't deprive yourselves. Unless it's for a short season. And that for prayer and fasting. And so God's design that marriage bed as undefiled. Amen. You even have a whole book of the Bible. Celebrating this. And using it as a type of Christ and his bride. So that's why younger women should marry. Amen. Use the strength of your young life to raise children. Amen. Because God presents it as a glory. Children are an outward sign of God's blessing on you. As arrows in the quiver of a warrior.
SPEAKER_01So are the children of one's youth. So get married. Young.
SPEAKER_02And have children. Amen. And they will defend you in the gate. Amen. Amen. Imagine living in such a way that godly character that you, as a young person, have produced children.
SPEAKER_01You no longer have to defend yourself.
SPEAKER_02And there they are to stand for you. Because the character that is in them is cast on from yourself. Children are a delight. Even times you hear even a listening fellowship and message believers. We are speaking just like unbelievers. You have no right to think your own thoughts. And look at life the way that you think you should look at it. We are given the mind of Christ as the bride of Christ. So we think what the word says. And I know Brother Branham speaks about different exceptions.
SPEAKER_01If your husband is sick, no work, okay.
SPEAKER_02This is a different circumstance. And we're but we're not governing ourselves by the exceptions. We're aiming our life completely for the perfect will of God. Praise the Lord. And we see this time and time again through the scriptures. Whoso finds a wife finds a good thing. And obtains favor of the Lord. Houses and riches are the inheritance of fathers.
SPEAKER_01And a prudent wife is from the Lord.
SPEAKER_02So we see over and over again the blessing of this relationship. It is part of God's purpose. And man, I'll speak to you. When we have a window of raising our children. But I'm not in a place where I can just go as Brother Mbulo will say, you should come for a month. But at home I have a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old and an 8-year-old. And I have a wife. And actually, it's my first responsibility. Before church, before ministry, family. Amen. What did God make first in the scripture? Did he make the church first?
SPEAKER_01The tabernacle first?
SPEAKER_02Or do you make the family first? The first order of government and life is the family. And then also, if you can understand that, the qualifications of ministry are that you lead your family well. Having your children in order and in submission. Or even as a lay member. It's my duty to lead my family. I cannot leave that for anyone else. It's my responsibility.
SPEAKER_01And if I don't lead them the right way, they will suffer the consequences. Not only that, I will suffer the consequences.
SPEAKER_02Later in life of my children walking away from the word. Of my children being bitter against me. And not wanting to be around me. It's my first responsibility. It's my family. Amen. And that's, and again, go read the qualifications of deacons and elders. You cannot be a minister. You cannot lead the Church of God well if you don't lead your family well. Amen. And so if my family gets out of order, that disqualifies me. And go and work on my family. And then when I can find a balance in life, and God brings healing to my family, then we can come back to the pulpit. But that's the value, father, dads, husbands, value upon our wife. Upon our sons and daughters. It's our duty to feed them spiritually. Amen. It's wonderful to be in a church that feeds you. But we still can't lay aside our own duty. We specifically feed and teach and train our children the Word of God. We look at all of these things and we bring this big picture again. When God made man and woman, he made them separately and differently. But yet he brought them together to complete one purpose.
SPEAKER_01Both of them having different roles.
Family First Then Ministry
SPEAKER_02Based on how they were designed. And because in that picture, where we begin to complete the purpose of God. Even if you can look at go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
SPEAKER_01Amen. But start in your home.
SPEAKER_02Start with your children. This is the place where we're beginning to multiply the image and likeness of God. Amen. And our own children, of course, they need their own personal experience with God. We can't give them the new birth. And then that's the place where we're multiplying the image and likeness of God.
SPEAKER_01Amen. We should start there. That should be our first priority. Amen. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_02And you shall be saved. And your household. Amen. It's not magic that your household is saved by. What is the assumption being made? That you're going to take the time to sit down and teach them.
SPEAKER_01And instruct them.
SPEAKER_02And bring them to conversion to the Word of God. Amen. Let's pray. Let's stand together. God bless you, saints. Amen. I hope you're blessed by the meetings. We appreciate you all so much. Appreciate our pastors here, all the pastors that have come and supported the meetings. Appreciate Brother Lewis for hosting and opening the door to me and God for his ministry here in Lusaka. So thankful for Brother Mbulo. Our long friendship. And so thankful for a real man of God. And for hosting me and putting forth all his efforts and ruining his car for me. Amen. We're still growing. The Lord is bringing us to that perfect faith. Amen. That means that that doesn't mean that we make no mistakes or that we don't sin. But it's bringing to us that place of maturity like we spoke about last night. And that's part of rapturing faith. Growing up into Him in all things. Who is the head even Christ? Amen. How many wants to grow? Amen. Christ.
SPEAKER_01That's our desire.
SPEAKER_02Christ is surrender our entire will, our entire purpose, our entire lives to Him. So that He would be pleased. And in our homes.
SPEAKER_01As husbands, as wives, father. As my India state.
SPEAKER_02Sons and daughters. Amen. We want to live honorable. We want to be honest. We want to be truthful. Amen. And we we want to be people that are being used of the Lord. That's what the Lord is raising you up for. You as individuals are being fitted together. Amen. We might be one small brick. Together, the Lord is fitting us together to be his temple. Amen. It takes some beating from the hammer. But together we'll make it by the grace of God. So let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord. We believe, Lord, that your your grace is abundant, that it's overflowing. Lord, that your love that we can't even reach to the height or the depth or the breadth of your love, Lord. Lord, it's it's it's a love that is unending. Lord, and you're you're out here, you're searching. You're seeking to find your lost sheep. Lord, if there's anyone here that would be that lost sheep, the Lord Jesus is coming for you. And he's gonna search and he's gonna find you. No matter how far you've gone away. Amen. You might be stuck, you might
Final Prayer And Blessing
SPEAKER_02be beat up, but the Lord Jesus is gonna come. And he's gonna lift you up and he'll put you on his shoulders, and he'll patch you up, and he'll heal you, and he'll bring you back to the place you ought to be. So we thank you for that, Lord. We're so grateful for your mercies and your grace. Lord, continue to pour your spirit out upon your people, Lord. Amen. We know that it's not some Pentecostal move. But Lord, it's it's a word revival. Lord, in the secret place. Lord, where Christ and his bride are becoming one. Lord, this is taking place worldwide, Lord. And we're so thankful to be a part of it. Lord, we commit these saints into your hands, Lord. Amen. With heavy hearts we leave them. Lord, but we commit one another unto you, Lord, for your safekeeping. We love you, Lord. We love these people. We just ask that you'd bless them, Lord. Bless them abundantly. Lord, uh may they prosper and be in health even as their soul does prosper, Lord. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
