When AI Sounds Like A Stranger

You sat down to let AI help you write something, maybe it's an email or a post, and what came back did not sound like you at all. It sounded smart. It sounded clean. It also sounded like a stranger wearing your name. So you closed the laptop, and the old thought crept back in: Maybe this AI thing is not for me. I want to tell you the truth today. The problem was never you, and it was never your voice. You were just never shown how to teach the machine who you are Welcome back to the Stuck No More Voices podcast. I'm Theresa Croft. I spend my days helping accomplished women get seen for the authority they already carry. And if you've been standing at the edge of this AI thing, half curious and half afraid, this episode is for you. Here's what I want you to know about you. You are not behind because you are slow. You are careful. You have spent years building a voice people trust, so of course you're not going to hand that over voice to a robot and hope for the best. That instinct is not fear. That is wisdom. But wisdom without a path just keeps you stuck.

You Are The Prophet Not AI

So let me give you the path. Here's the line I want you to hold onto. You are the prophet, AI is the scribe. Think about that. A prophet carries the message. The scribe just writes it down faster. The scribe never decides what the message is. The scribe never changes the heart of it. The scribe serves the voice. It does not replace it. Now, most women get this backward. They sit down and ask the machine, "What should I say?" And the machine guesses. That is why it sounds like a stranger. You're letting the scribe try to be the prophet. Flip it. You bring the message. You bring the heart, the authenticity, the story, the anointing, the conviction. AI just helps you get it out of your head and onto the page. When you lead, it sounds like you. When it leads, it sounds like everyone. Let me give you an example. I had trained ChatGPT a few years ago. I'd kinda trained it and given it a lot of stuff of my voice, and one day I was trying to find a name for myself amidst what I was doing at that time. ChatGPT spit out, "You are a voice revivalist." I had to pray on that. I had to pray on that and really think about it. Here's the realization- After about a month that I got that on ChatGPT, I was hired back after 18 years to a radio station. They changed their brand name. It was now Victory 91.5, The Sound of Revival. Every time I say that, I'm like, "Wow." So how do you actually do

this? Let me walk you through it the simple way. First, you feed it your voice, not a topic. You give it three or four things you've already written or said, a post that did well. I love going back to Facebook and c- from the memory section and, oh, that post did really well. That sounded like me, and copy and paste it in there. It could also be a well a piece of your talk. This is how the machine learns your rhythm. It's like teaching someone your handwriting. You do not explain it. You just show them examples until they can copy the slant. Second, you tell it the rules of your voice. Short sentences, plain words, the way you weave faith in gently instead of preaching.

Three Steps To Train Your Voice

I like to say be honest, be truthful, no fluff. The things you would never say, that's where no fluff be true to me. You are not asking for it to be creative. You are giving it guardrails like cones on a road so it stays in your lane Third, and this is the most part people skip, you correct it out loud, and when it gives you a line that is close but not you, you do not delete it and give up. You tell it why. Like, you could say, "It's... Hey, that's too stiff," or, "Man, don't be salesy," or, "Keep it warmer." Every time you correct it, it gets closer. You are training it the way you would train a new assistant who is sharp but does not know you yet. This is the whole secret. You're not pressing a button and praying. Prayer is good. You are leading a tool that learns, and once it drops something, you pray about it. Let me give you an example. Here's a very generic statement, "I help women become more visible online so they can reach more people and grow their presence on social media." Pretty sharp. It's a generic statement though because my voice says, I help women stop hiding and start showing up as the woman God created them to be. Because visibility isn't about becoming louder, copying someone else's strategy, or chasing attention. It's about finding the courage to trust your voice, share your story, and speak the message you've been carrying inside. When a woman becomes confident in who she is and the purpose she's been given, visibility becomes a natural extension of her calling. I help women find their voice, share their voice, and become visible online without losing themself in the process. The generic version, by the way, could belong to thousands of coaches. My version could only belong to me because it's rooted in faith, identity, voice, purpose, calling, transformation. I'm not primarily selling visibility, but I am helping women become the woman who is no longer afraid to be seen. That is the deeper promise

Fear Of Losing Realness

under everything I do. All right, let's carry on. Now, let's talk about something, the fear underneath all of this. You might be afraid that if you use AI, you will lose what makes you real. I understand that. Your realness is the whole gift. But hear me, AI does not take your voice. It carries it farther. A megaphone does not change the words you speak, it helps the back of the room hear them. Your voice stays yours, it just stops getting lost. And the woman who needs you, the one sitting in her kitchen at 6:00 in the morning scanning for someone who gets where she is, she does not need you to be louder. She needs to be able to find you. This is how you reach her without burning yourself trying to do it by hand. It is so awesome, I have to tell you, to get a text or be on a discovery call, and the woman on the other side is explaining what she needs, and she's using some of the language that I put out there to describe her pain. That is so rewarding and exciting. So if everything in you is saying yes, but you still don't know where you actually stand, this is the right place for you.
