Programme Considerations For The General Population

Episode #104 - Programme considerations for the general population

***

Do you ever sit down to write a clients programme and think; where do I start? You know what makes a good programme on paper, however your client clearly doesn’t have the structure or mobility to do these movements straight away. I’m happy to admit I’ve fallen in to this category.

***

In this episode, I wanted to discuss the factors that all personal trainers should consider when selecting the appropriate exercises for their clients. Given his in depth knowledge of biomechanics, plus years in the trenches training 1-2-1 clients, I couldn’t think of anyone better to discuss this topic with than James.

We go in to what he considers the pre-requisites for prescribing certain movements, how to progress someone to where you want them to be, how to design programmes based on the equipment you have available plus why improving someones mechanics goes way beyond what you do in the gym.
