Ep. 33: Court of Protection Law with Laura Christodoulou
Show Notes

Last year Britney Spears made headlines in her legal battle against her father for control of the conservatorship so that she can make her own decisions about her finances and wellbeing.

This week's episode is all on the area of law underlying this legal battle: Court of Protection Law.

We sit down with Laura Christodoulou, a Compensation Protection Unit Solicitor at Royds Withy King. In the episode we talk about what the Court of Protection is for, how the UK system differs from the US system, and how lawyers in this area determine what is in a client’s ‘best interests’.

Outside of the Court, we talk about Laura’s own career journey, specifically taking your time after graduating uni to find the career for you and the importance of trying out alternative or niche career areas in law.
