What up everyone and welcome to the Daily Drip here on The Growthcast. If given the option, which would you choose? Slow progress, in the right direction or fast results, it seems like an easy choice until you're in the thick of it. Speed seems to be a trap that people fall into. Not just speed, but the desire for speed.
Fast results, and emphasis on speed without taking direction into account is a recipe for a disaster. Today is a simple reminder that you must value direction more than speed. The direction you are going is way more important than how fast you are going. A number of years ago, I was on an elk hunt with my dad.
We had just put a bull down and I needed to meet up with my cousin at the trail head. In order to cut some time off, I decided I was going to cut through a thick part of the forest with the idea of catching the trail further towards the actual trail head where I would actually...where I would end up meeting up with my cousin.
About 20 minutes into my shortcut, I realized I had gotten turned around my eyes, caught a glimpse of the ridge I was supposed to be on just beyond the tree line. What I did was I changed my direction and. Moved in the right direction at that point. Made the adjustment and soon enough I caught the trail again just in time to meet with my, meet up with my cousin.
Had I been hyper-focused on speed and just putting my head down and going fast, who knows how long it would've been until I finally realized that I was off course. Look, life is no different. Again, the direction you are going is more important than how fast you are going. Today's reminder, long term success is made in a slow cooker, not a microwave.
So keep your eyes up, be patient with the results and impatient about the work you're putting in, because again, growth is strategic. It happens by design, not by luck. direction is greater than speed. Have a great day, everybody, and we'll see you guys back here again next time.
