Hey everybody. My name is Dallas Pruitt, and welcome to the Daily Drip here on the Growth cast The truth? Well, that can be a really scary thing within the right frame, however, the truth can be extremely liberating rather than avoid the truth because of fear and doubt. Work to bring the truth to the forefront because here's the thing, you can't become your best if you're scared of the truth.

Here's a better question. Have you ever tracked your performance? Are you currently tracking performance within the things you're working on right now? Have you ever looked daily to the data to help you recognize what you are truly doing and not doing? Instead of just generally, or subjectively reviewing everything at the end of a day or a week?

This is one of the bigger mistakes people make when tackling growth. They fail to track their progress. Our brains are tricky, right? They want to protect us because of that. Sometimes we shy away from, or at times, even bend the truth. We stay subjective about everything because let's face it, this keeps us further away from the truth, thus making us believe that we are safe.

Today's principle is where performance is measured, performance improves. If you want to get better, you need to the data of your actions and your inactions, knowing the truth of where you are currently at helps you to better understand what is lacking to get you closer to the goal you've set. It also helps you to identify what is working so that you can refine and do more and better of whatever is working.

Assuming that many of you who are listening have already been specific and established your aim moving forward. It is crucial you compile and look to the data your life is providing you. It's crucial you get to the truth of your situation as it evolves. It is paramount that you learn to be really honest with yourself.

So again, today's actionable? If you are bending the truth, stop. If you are far from the truth, right now, work to find it. Do not close out each day any longer and create a false story that you've made a ton or even a little of progress in relation to your goals just because you are tired, start getting to the truth of each day.

Start working harder, and sometimes it's just about working smarter. Look to the reality of your situation and embrace it. Let the gap excite you. Don't give in to self-pity and feel bad for yourself because of it. Let learning excite you. Don't allow the unknown to paralyze you. Allow it to drive you to better.

Look, feedback is an essential branch of a growth mindset. So be objective. Look to numbers. Keep a book. Track your performance. Trajectory is amplified in the right direction as we get better at looking to the truth of our situation every single day. Tracking helps you stay focused on what's important to reaching your goal and what is important in helping you become the person you've set out to become.

Again, the principle of the day where performance is measured, performance improves. Have a great day, everybody, and we'll see everybody back here again tomorrow.
