Hey, what's going on everybody? My name is Dallas Pruit, and this is the Daily Drip. Here on the Growth Cast, I've titled today's episode, next Level Gratitude. When we move forward on our journey and hit an amazing point in the journey, call that point success, call that point achievement, especially big achievements, things that required a lot of work.
It's really easy for us as people to get caught into the trap of sitting in the success too long. You could call it basking. You could call it indulgence. Call it what you will, but this indulgence trap, it's a, it's important to become extremely aware that it is very sneaky at all stages of the game.
So the question today is, what if you didn't? The next time you hit that high point, the next time you achieved that amazing feat, the next time you got that result that you worked so hard for, what if you didn't bask? What if you didn't indulge? What if you just moved forward? What if you said your thank yous truly let your heart feel the love of all those supporting you recognized how far you would come and.
Continued to move forward. One of the highest forms of gratitude that we as people can offer is the action of moving forward and bettering whatever it is we're working on. Success is just part of the journey. It's redefining that for yourself and understanding that. , there's lots of points of success along the journey, but it success is not the destination and it's coming to the reality of that today is an invite to not hang out in success too long.
Success is a lotus eater. If you aren't careful, you'll stay there. And weirdly enough, it's a time warp. You will stall. You will not progress forward at the rate that you could. You must be aware. One of the best things that we can do in order to increase our awareness is use better definitions, be a little more selective with our language.
So with that in mind, here's a solid definition of gratitude, one that you can add to your intellectual library of tools. Here it is readiness to show, appreciation for and to return, excuse me, to return kindness. What could be kinder than to go forward and continue to do great work in light of helping other people today as a reminder.
Next level, gratitude isn't just a feeling that warms the heart and the mind. Next level, gratitude is action. Action with a purpose. Have a great day everybody, and we'll see you guys next time.
