Speaker 1:

If you want to grow your business and your impact without spending more and more time working it, you need a scalable offer, and on today's episode, I'm going to be breaking down why your signature course is the most scalable offer in your product suite. So stay tuned.

Speaker 2:

What change becomes possible when 100,000 people are impacted by your work? This question came to me one day and I have been working to find the answer ever since. Hi, I'm Jess and I help online course creators amplify their influence and create a movement with their message, and on this podcast, I am sharing the simple strategies and systems to help you impact more people with your programs so you can create quantum growth in your industry. You are listening to the Quantum Course Creator podcast.

Speaker 1:

Hey there, quantum Course Creator, welcome back to the podcast, Jess. Here and today I am going to be writing a love letter to that of the signature course. Now you may have a course already. You may not know if it's a signature one or not, but as a course creator, you know that having a scalable signature course is the most scalable offer in your product suite. And while there's so much buzz out there about creating a high-ticket group coaching program or a signature service or all of these different things, I have done all of them and I am here to tell you that the most scalable offer in your suite is your signature course. So let me first identify what exactly is a signature course. As somebody who's created many, many, many, many, many, many many courses over the years, I know what the difference is between a course and a signature course. A course has one specific topic that offers a little transformation, but your signature course is a course that delivers the total transformation, start to finish. The person who has the problem that you solve and wants the complete solution to that problem is looking for your signature course. Now, sure, you could break that into a billion different little courses, but at the end of the day, the best solution for somebody is the whole enchilada, and so your signature course delivers that total transformation, start to finish.

Speaker 1:

The next thing that makes something a signature course is that it has scalable delivery. Now, this is something that some people teach differently than I do, but in my opinion, especially if it's going to be the most scalable offer in your product suite, you have to have scalable delivery. So what does that mean? That means automations, that means gamification and that means scalable support systems. If you have to get on calls with all of the people in your course, it's not scalable. If there's anything in your offer that trades time for money, it's not scalable. And if you need to hire more people to support more people, it isn't scalable. So you need to figure out what is a scalable delivery system, and this is something we actually teach inside of our course design formula. But this is something that's really key is how do you deliver on this course? Whether you're launching it in cohorts or ever enrollment or whatever you're doing, you need to be able to have scalable delivery so you do not have to put in more man hours to deliver on more sales.

Speaker 1:

And the third piece of a signature course is that it needs to be instructionally designed. Something that is scalable by its nature will have more and more people enrolling in it and therefore more and more learning styles, learning abilities, starting places, etc. And while your old repurposed zoom calls of your stream of consciousness may have worked in the past, in order for a course to be truly a scalable signature course, it needs to be instructionally designed. It needs to have intentional scaffolding in the knowledge and the skills that you're teaching people. It needs to have supporting learning materials that help people get better results. And it needs to be entirely prerecorded in a way that is designed for all learning abilities, learning styles and types to consume it. And it needs to be accessible right, it needs to have different accessibility things like captions, like written bits of it, so that they can read it if they get better at that way. So there are all sorts of things that need to go into that instructionally designed. And again, we teach all of this and make it super simple with our course design formula. But that is what ultimately makes something a signature course and in your business, if you want to stop trading time for money and start actually scaling and creating a six figure, multiple, six figure, seven figure business.

Speaker 1:

You need a scalable offer. You need an offer that can serve a hundred or a thousand students or more without more time for you, and I've seen a lot of people say that like oh, a high ticket group coaching program is a scalable offer, and it can be to a certain extent. If you have to hire more people, though, and more co-coaches in order to support more people, it's not scalable, right? You are then spending more time and money in order to scale that offer, and so it is not as scalable as a course is, as a scalable designed signature course is, and so your offer. You need to have some kind of scalable offer in your product suite if you want to grow your business to that next level, if you really want to create the level of income and impact that you started your business to create in the first place, and so a scalable offer can serve a hundred or a thousand students or more without any more time or energy or money from you. It delivers a consistent transformation. You know that, if you put a person in and give them this curriculum, that they will come out the other end with a specific transformation, with learning a skill, with absorbing or absorbing some new knowledge right, they will get the promised results at the end of it and it becomes the cornerstone of your product suite. It is right there in the middle, serving as like the pillar of strength in your product suite, that things can either come after or come before, but it is really the core piece in your product suite that delivers the transformation that you help people achieve.

Speaker 1:

And so, as a expert or an author or a thought leader, whatever you happen to be, coaching and services are just not scalable and, like I said, I've done all of it. I have offered coaching, I have offered services, I have offered courses and signature courses. I've had many courses and group coaching programs and, at the end of the day, the only thing that is truly scalable is a signature course, because coaching and services make you or require more time and energy and money from you. You either need to hire a team to deliver on the service, you need to hire co-coaches to deliver on the coaching, or you have to spend more time on client work, more time and energy from you to deliver on the promise and to reach your income goals with less time. You need a signature course. So you may be thinking like, ok, I have a course, but I need it and I want to create a signature course and I really want to find this scalability in my business. So that takes just a couple of things. One is developing that signature course, really coming up with what is the core transformation that your ideal client desires, that you promise.

Speaker 1:

Look at what you are helping people achieve and how can you design a course that gets them from A to Z with one product and that may include people jumping in at different stages. Right, that doesn't mean that everybody's jumping in at A. They may be jumping in at E, but to get from E to Z is a fairly standard process as getting from A to Z, but you add a little bit in there for the people who are starting at A. But having a total transformation gives people the complete step-by-step process and knowledge and skill development in order to get that desired transformation, no matter where they are starting from. This is really key because people are going to be starting from different places no matter what you offer, and so having something that gives them that entire transformation is going to get people better results, no matter what, especially because if they think they're coming in from E, but really they did like A through D in a different way or in a way that maybe wasn't optimized for what you're trying to get them to do. They may have to go back to A and make sure that everything is solid from A to D, and then they can jump in where they came in at E to Z. I'm getting a little over my head here, but you know what I mean. People are starting at different places, but you may have to re-sure up the knowledge that they thought that they had in order to get the best transformation at the end of the day.

Speaker 1:

The next piece of this is so first you have to design that scalable offer, and then you need a scalable sale system. How are you selling this to people in a way that is truly scalable? I do think that launches can be scalable, but launches by themselves have that inherent lack of time where you're offering the product and it is really hard to scale something if you're only offering it a few times a year, because, at the end of the day, 99% of the problems that people solve people want to be solved when they have the problem, not just when you decide to sell them the offer right, and so they will ultimately find somebody else to solve that problem for them, even if that alternative is not as efficient or effective or the right offer for them. But they want their problem solved now. So having a just launch basis is not really going to meet the needs of all of those people.

Speaker 1:

And a similar thing happens if you just have it on Evergreen. If the doors are always open and people can jump in whenever they want to, that doesn't really give them the incentive or the urgency to join when they have the problem that you solve. A lot of that can come down to relevance, into creating intrinsic urgency, but, really, like having the doors always open, it's hard for people to know when to jump in and how to get involved if it's just sitting on your website waiting for people to join. And so I actually teach a hybrid system of all of these sales systems called the Quantum Sales System. That teaches you how to not only capture the excitement of a live launch and capture the ever-enrollment of an Evergreen, but also re-engage people who are already on your list and create that urgency and that intrinsic urgency and relevance for your ideal clients, so that they know that now is the time for them to purchase, because the problem that they have is relevant for them to purchase.

Speaker 1:

And then the third piece of creating scalability in your business is to scale your visibility, and this is the part that most people miss when they come to creating a course or trying to get more sales online is that they're focused so much on the course or the launch that they end up not really scaling their visibility and getting in front of more and more people, and this is really what's important.

Speaker 1:

If you're trying to fill a funnel, you can only fill it with so many people until you run out of people, right, and so getting in front of new people, creating a scalable system of visibility is absolutely key to running this whole system and creating something that is truly scalable. And it should come without saying that the more you scale your visibility, the less like accustomed to you the people are, so your affinity with your audience becomes less and less relevant the colder your audience gets, and so you need to have a system that will sell too cold as well as warm, because there comes a point where people are coming into your ecosystem and they're not as warm as people who've been following you forever. So this was a quickie, but a goodie. I hope that this was helpful. Having a scalable signature course is the most effective way to scale your impact and your income, and we'll be talking more about this in the coming weeks, so definitely stay tuned. So thank you so much for listening. Hope this was fun and I will see you in our next episode.
