Embracing Change: A Farewell (For Now)
Nov 14, 2023 Episode 164
Jess O'Connell

As I close the book on a year of unexpected twists and turns, both in business and personal life, I'm choosing to gift myself a hiatus from my beloved Quantum Course Creator podcast. Four years of weekly content creation has been an amazing journey, but now it's time to step back, recharge, and plan the next phase of this adventure. This short yet poignant episode stands as a testament to the power of choosing what aligns with our needs and desires, even if that means pausing something we love.

There's a transformational beauty in life's unpredictability - it shapes us and often leads us to better outcomes than we could ever anticipate. As I bid farewell (for now), I hope my decision encourages you to evaluate your own business, and make those changes you've been contemplating. The greatest lesson this year has been that it's okay if things don't go as planned. Give yourself the permission to be in sync with the present version of you, not the one from the start of the year. Enjoy your holidays, and I look forward to returning in 2024, rejuvenated and ready to continue our journey together.

Speaker 1:

On today's episode, I am sharing a little bit of announcements, so stay tuned. What change becomes possible when 100,000 people are impacted by your work? This question came to me one day and I have been working to find the answer ever since. Hi, I'm Jess and I help online course creators amplify their influence and create a movement with their message, and on this podcast, I am sharing the simple strategies and systems to help you impact more people with your programs so you can create quantum growth in your industry. You are listening to the Quantum Course Creator podcast. Hey there, and welcome back to the Quantum Course Creator podcast.

Speaker 1:

Jess here, and today's episode is probably going to be pretty short and sweet, as I just want to share a little bit of an update and an announcement of some stuff going on in my business. So I have been reflecting a little bit this year on this podcast and I have been recording literally every week, or almost every week, for just about four years now, and I started this podcast four years ago to connect with you and to share my thoughts around marketing and all sorts of things, and I love showing up here every single week. I love making episodes for you, I love talking to you, I love sharing my thoughts and different perspectives on things, and this has been one of my favorite ways that I show up in my business, and I am deciding to take a break. I have recorded nearly every week for four years and that's a lot of content to create, and there's been some things that have changed drastically in my life this last year, most of which I have not shared publicly and that's my prerogative and I have decided to take a moment and wrap up the year with a short hiatus from the podcast. So my intention is to be back in 2024. But I wanted to take a couple weeks to not have to think about it, not have to show up or create anything new, and really just have some peace and quiet and space to figure out what's the next step.

Speaker 1:

And I know that this has been a hard year for a lot of people. I know whether it's been hard in your business. It's been hard in your life. It's been hard in both. I know that we've all faced unique challenges and, if nothing else, I hope that me making this decision gives you permission to make those decisions that you've been putting off in your own business and if there's something that you've been doing that you want to take a break from, or something that you aren't doing but you want to be doing, or you think you should be doing, so you are doing, even if you don't want to do it, or whatever. Now is the time where you get to decide.

Speaker 1:

I think that one of my biggest lessons this year is that almost nothing in my business went the way that I thought it would at the beginning of the year, and hell.

Speaker 1:

Nothing in my life went the way that I thought it would at the beginning of the year. But it's all turned out way better than I ever imagined, right, and it's all happened as, I think, exactly it was meant to, and so, rather than trying to show up as the version of me that I was at the beginning of the year, I'm trying to be more present with the version of me that I am now, and that version of me wants a little bit more space. So that's where I'm at. Told you this was going to be short and sweet, and I am so excited to take a minute, enjoy the holidays with my family, and I'm optimistic that I will be rejuvenated and reinspired and ready to show back up for you in the new year, so I hope that you have a wonderful holiday. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year and I cannot wait to reconnect with you in 2024.
