Jamie is a true creative that has always been fascinated by the world, especially through the lens of a camera. She finds beauty in minimalism but captures the intricate details that make every scene unique. Being behind the scenes is her comfort zone, allowing her creativity to flow freely. Although she has loved working as a lifestyle photographer, she is now pursuing a second career in film, production, and the live entertainment industry.
Jamie's words and creative voice have evolved significantly over time. She is committed to creating, advocating, and building a community for beautiful Black women like herself to pursue their dreams. She firmly believes that art has no boundaries. Jamie is the founder of Black CreatHer, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and inspiring Black creators and women in media. The vision of Black CreatHer is to create a powerhouse community where Black women can share stories rooted in Black culture. The goal is to build a seamless route into the film and entertainment industry. In November 2023, Kiwan’s first film project, SHE Pours, premiered, shining a light on the strength and perseverance of women. This film highlights their stories of overcoming life's challenges, illustrating the power of support and empowerment among women. With authenticity, these diverse voices depict how women nurture, cultivate, and manifest positive changes, proving resilience in the face of hardship. Xavier Blake is a veteran of SCETV, PBS, and The Nickelodeon Theater, where he served as the Community Programming and Engagement Coordinator. Over the course of two decades at South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV), Xavier worked tirelessly in the nonprofit public media, arts, and cultural sectors as both Operations Manager and Assistant Producer. His dedication to the arts is evident in his commitment to amplifying representative content and facilitating meaningful community conversations.
Xavier is highly skilled in programming, creative ideation, and organizational development, making him a perfect fit for leading One Columbia's mission to support the arts and culture community in Columbia, South Carolina. One Columbia is a non-profit organization dedicated to advising, amplifying, and advocating for a unified arts and culture community. Some of their primary goals include, improving the quality of life for citizens, attracting tourists, and highlighting the vibrant historic landscapes by fostering collaboration within the Arts community.
