In this homily given at St Pat's, (February 20, 2022), Fr. Mathias breaks open Jesus' command to love our enemies and explains why this command to radical love makes us different from the world around us. The reason why God commands us to love those who hate us is that he wants us to be like him. With a renewed awareness of how God has saved us from us judgment and condemnation when we became his enemies through sin, we can respond to this call to radical love by avoiding perfectionism and compromise and so secure our great reward.
