SPEAKER_00Let's talk! So what are we talking about this week, Pastor Jim? Well hey Raz. This week we're talking about what's really important in our lives. Oh, I know a few things that are really important to me. A completely full candy dish. Well, Raz, that's not what I'm doing. Yes, but that's a nice vacation at the beach. Yes, those things are nice, but what's most important is something completely different. Pizza for dinner. Uh, we'll be right back, kids.

SPEAKER_00Hello, everybody. This is Pastor Jim, and I am the children's pastor at Parkway Fellowship in Richmond, Texas. Everybody say, Woohoo!

SPEAKER_00Nice. So we are here. I'm here with uh four young people today, and uh I'm gonna let them go around the horn and tell me their name, what grade they're in, and what their favorite movie is. So let's start. Who wants to start? Who wants to start with that this question? You can start. Blake, okay.
SPEAKER_08My name is Blake. I'm in fifth grade, and my favorite movie, Jumanji.
SPEAKER_00Jumanji? The original one or the newer ones?
SPEAKER_08Uh the newer ones.
SPEAKER_00Ah, yes, I saw those. Those are good. Um, very, very fun, very fun movies. What was your favorite part about it?
SPEAKER_08Um, I like the start when they were in the forest.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's a good one. Okay, who nice to meet you, Blake. Good thanks for being here today. Uh, who wants to go next? Who's next? Who's next? Ooh. And your name is?
SPEAKER_09Uh my name's Liam. I'm in sixth grade, and my favorite movie is the whole car selection.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. So I like the original one best. That was that's so fun. I love it. So Liam. L-I-A-M. Yes, sir. Nice. And um, so you like cars. How many cars movies are there?
SPEAKER_09Uh there's three, but there's supposed to be a fourth one too.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Lightning McQueen. What is he what what's what's what's the sound he makes?
SPEAKER_08Cajow. Cajow, that's right.
SPEAKER_00Nice. Okay, who wants to go next? Oh, Brianna Lynn.
SPEAKER_06I am ten years old. I'm in fifth grade, and my favorite movie is Sing.
SPEAKER_00Sing! I did you like the second one? I like this good. I like the second one. I can't think even better than the first one. It was it was really good. It had a good storyline. So nice to see you, Brianna Lynn. And Ian, I guess you're next. Go. Hit it. What's your name? What grade are you in? I know. Do it again.
SPEAKER_10My name is Ian, and my favorite movie is The Night Before Christmas.
SPEAKER_00Oh, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Oh, okay. And uh and what grade are you in? Five. Five, fifth grade. What's your favorite thing at school? He just shrugged his shoulders.
SPEAKER_08Recess a lot.
SPEAKER_00That was my answers too. Ian, Ian, yeah, what's your favorite part of school?
SPEAKER_10I don't know.
SPEAKER_00He he likes the I don't know partition of uh school. Alright, so well, nice to see everybody. Thanks for being here. Liam, Ian, Blake, and Brianna Lynn. And uh we are going to do our scripture today. So everybody say Matthew!

SPEAKER_03Matthew Six. Six.
SPEAKER_00We took this version out of the Living Bible, which is a great version to read. And it says, give him first place in your life. Okay, so we're gonna say some motions that will help us remember all those words. So the first word is give. So you're just gonna hold out your hand like you're giving something to somebody. And when we say when we do this motion, what word are we gonna say?
SPEAKER_07Give.
SPEAKER_00That was weak. What word are we gonna say? Give! Nice. That was so much better. So Matthew 6.33 from the beginning says Give. Give. Okay. Now we're gonna pay we're gonna say the word him and we're gonna point up to God. So that's gonna remind us to say him. Okay. So what do what word are we gonna say when we do this? Nice. So Matthew 6.33 from the beginning says Give Him. Give him. Uh now what? Okay, so we're gonna put both fingers up like we're number one. We're number. And we're gonna wiggle them around a little bit, and we're gonna say first place. First place.
SPEAKER_07Okay, from the beginning, Matthew 6.33 says, Give him first place.
SPEAKER_00Now the next one is really simple. You put one hand into the other, and that is the word in. Okay, so what word what word are we gonna say when we do this? In Okay, from the beginning, Matthew 6.33 says Give him first place. Nice. Your. So you put your right hand like palm facing outward, and you just kind of go forward with it like your. So we're gonna say the word your when we put our palm and we go out with it a little bit.
SPEAKER_07Okay, from the beginning, Matthew 6.33 says Give him first place in your life.
SPEAKER_00So put two thumbs up and start them by your waist and then come up, and that is sign language for the word life.

SPEAKER_00So that is a really important thing to remember. Give him God first place in your life. Now, the rest of the verse says, so don't worry at all about having no, so this starts at verse 31 in Matthew 6. So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen, the people that don't believe in God? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life, and live as he wants you to. So don't be anxious about anything, about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. So, what was our verse, Matthew 6 33 says?
SPEAKER_07Give him first place in your life.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that was so good. You guys did a good job. Give yourself a pat on the back from me. That's that's from me. That's a good job. I can't reach you. Alright, so we have our um story time today. Yeah, baby! And this story comes from the Bible. Everybody say the Bible.

SPEAKER_00And it's about a poor widow who seeks God's kingdom first. I'm gonna be the narrator. Ian is gonna play Jesus! Jesus. Okay. Blake is gonna be The Disciples. So, Liam, you can you can read along with with uh Blake when he does the disciples' lines. Okay, there's only a few. And then Brianna Lynn is gonna be the poor widow. Everybody say, Aw.
SPEAKER_04Aww.
SPEAKER_00That's right, poor widow. Okay. In the Bible, everybody say Bible.

SPEAKER_00Book of Mark, everybody say Mark, Mark, chapter 12. We read a true story about Jesus.

SPEAKER_00Don't ask a question. I mean, kind of ask a question, but say it a little bit more forcefully.

SPEAKER_00Nice. Uh there was a large crowd listening to Jesus teach. And then Ian, you say.
SPEAKER_10Watch out for the people acting religious but not really living it.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, watch out for those kind of people. Jesus continued.
SPEAKER_10These people love to walk around with their noses in the air, acting like the God's gift to the world. Oh, and Jesus also said they act holy, but behind closed doors they mistreat the weak and helpless.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, that's bad.
SPEAKER_01Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Then Jesus and his disciples.
SPEAKER_08Hey, that's me.
SPEAKER_00And that's you, Liam. Hey, that's me. That's right. Started watching the people put in their money at church. Some of those religious acting creeps dropped in lots of cash.
SPEAKER_05Here comes the money. Here we go. Money.
SPEAKER_00Here comes the money. Money, money, money, money, money, money. Da la da. Da la da. The disciples seemed impressed. Okay, Blake and Liam, go.
SPEAKER_08You know what those guys put in a lot of money?
SPEAKER_00Oh. You say the second part.
SPEAKER_09Uh those guys putting a lot of money.
SPEAKER_00Then Jesus and his disciples watched a poor old lady go towards the offering offering container.
SPEAKER_06Excuse me, excuse me. Can you let me pass?
SPEAKER_00But those religious acting creeps didn't even acknowledge her. They were still busy putting their money.
SPEAKER_05Here comes the money. That's the best. Here we go. Money talks. Here comes the money.
SPEAKER_00Then Jesus said, Watch this. Yeah. And the poor old lady dropped in two small coins. The disciples were not impressed.
SPEAKER_08Man, that lady's offering was weak. Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_01Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_08Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_00Liam, why don't you say that too?

SPEAKER_00But Jesus had a different idea.
SPEAKER_10The truth is that this poor little gave more than to the c more to the collection than all the others put together.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Jesus continued.
SPEAKER_10All the others gave what they'll never miss. She gave what she couldn't afford. She gave her all.
SPEAKER_00That was more money than the religious dudes. And Jesus, how many think Jesus would never lie?
SPEAKER_08All of us. Me.
SPEAKER_00Everybody has their hand up and everybody's nodding their heads in agreement. Thank you so much. Thank you for helping me tell the story. Okay, so I'm gonna go around the horn. What part of the story do you like the best and why? So, Brennan Lynn, want to go first? So, best part of the story for you and why do you like it?
SPEAKER_06I like how she gave all she had to honor Jesus when other people wouldn't give all that they had.
SPEAKER_00Yep, she gave everything that she had. And how many think that God saw that she gave first place to God? How man how many Jesus did, and maybe his disciples yeah, everybody has their hand raised. And and Jesus and his disciples probably realized, oh wow, she gave two cents, and that's all she had. That was giving God first place, don't you think? Yep. So, okay, who else wants to go next? Who else? Who go who's next?
SPEAKER_09Liam! Uh, I agree with her. I think my favorite best part from the story was when she gave all she had.
SPEAKER_00There it is. She gave all she had. Nice. And uh who wants to go next?

SPEAKER_00Yep. There's a lot of people that act religious, but they don't really live it. Are they giving God first place?
SPEAKER_10No, sir.
SPEAKER_00No, they are not. Okay, uh Ian, you got any other thoughts about any of this?
SPEAKER_10I like the here comes the money sound. Here comes the money. Here we go.
SPEAKER_05Money talks. Here comes the money. Da da da.
SPEAKER_00Two coins. Nice. So, why should we seek God first? Who can give me an answer? Ian.
SPEAKER_10Because he can supply you back.
SPEAKER_00That's right. He has our backs. He knows what we're going through. And even if we're going through a really tough time, God knows it. And he's going to provide a way for us to feel encouraged and to make it through those hard those hard things. I mean, I know in my heart, I don't know, I can't read it in the Bible because the story stopped with that lady giving all or all she had. But I know in my heart that God took care of her. I don't know how, but someday when I get to heaven, I'm going to ask her. So what happened to you after you gave those two pennies? Because you know she's going to be there. Anyone else got any thoughts why we should give God and seek him first? Yes. Liam.
SPEAKER_09Uh, because he's the key to life.
SPEAKER_00Oh, he is the key to life. I love that answer. Good stuff.

SPEAKER_00Okay, Blake.
SPEAKER_08And he can help you with that what with whatever your troubles are.
SPEAKER_00That's right. He can he can be there for you. Uh how important is seeking God? So how do we seek? What's some ways we can seek God?
SPEAKER_06You can pray.
SPEAKER_00You can pray. Right on? Yes, Brianna Lynn.
SPEAKER_06You can read the Bible.
SPEAKER_00You can read the Bible. Yes, you can see him all through the scriptures. He is He is there every moment. In every situation, God is there. Yes, Liam.
SPEAKER_09Uh you could take actions from your sins.
SPEAKER_00Yes, you can you can ask him for forgiveness. And um, yeah, so do you know the sign language for forgive? I love it. So you put one palm out and then you wipe it off. Like it never happened. I love that. Forgive. Forgive. Forgive. God can forgive us everything.
SPEAKER_04It's the money.
SPEAKER_00No, not fast. Money, money, money, money.
