he late Alvin Holmes left an indelible T mark on Alabama politics. Some of it was good, some of it not so much. In 2005, the Democratic-led Alabama Legislature passed the state's Open Meetings Act, a long-sought law by the media and then-Attorney General Troy King that was intended to break up the backroom dealings of the state's government agencies, from city hall to Montgomery.
