SPEAKER_06Welcome to the Crispy Coke Show.
SPEAKER_04Your host, Crispy Coke.
SPEAKER_06How do you like the Diet Cherry Coke?
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay, you like it better than regular?
SPEAKER_06Better than regular Diet Coke?
SPEAKER_03You like Diet Coke better than Diet Coke Coke?
SPEAKER_06I know you like Diet Coke better than Coke. Do you like cherry Diet Coke better than Diet Coke?
SPEAKER_03No. So are you a uh But I like cherry Diet Coke?
SPEAKER_02You're a Coke Zero hater. Oh, I've never had Coke Zero. Oh, good. I don't plan on having Coke Zero. What? Diet Coke for life.
SPEAKER_06Hi, everybody. Welcome back to What the Podcast. I'm Ryan.
SPEAKER_07And I'm John. Together we are. Happy that it's summer.
SPEAKER_04Summertime. And the Lindsay Z.
SPEAKER_07Also Ryan and John.
SPEAKER_05And the Blouth, as always. My lovely wife, Carrie Tefoya.
SPEAKER_06The matches, man. Cherry Diet Coke. What was your stage name? Cherry Coke? Crispy. Crispy Diet Coke. Crispy Coke.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Joining us again this week. And it's got scoven.
SPEAKER_03Hi, happy to be here. Thank you for having me.
SPEAKER_06Home is French, never frozen. We're getting right into the nuts and bolts of this episode, guys. Happy summer.
SPEAKER_07Woo! I am genuinely excited. It's summer.
SPEAKER_06Moments ago, Eddie was like, guys, get in the booth. We have to start podcasting. And she's like, yeah, cool.
SPEAKER_03Summertime. God, come on! No, I'm happy to be I'm so happy to be in the booth with you guys. So happy. I fear it's gearing up to be a hot summer.
SPEAKER_06Ooh, you think so? Think it's gonna be a crispy coke out there?
SPEAKER_02I mean, we already know it's gonna be a hot summer because all the sharks are coming. Oh the shark. Are the sharks coming out? The great white shark migration up from uh Mexico is a lot earlier this year because of how hot the water is gonna be.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be hot. On account of all the heat. It's gonna be hot, guys.
SPEAKER_02Which Lahoya already sees the little sharks because La Jolla's already warm water. But it's great whites this time.
SPEAKER_06Well, that's fine. They are letting us swim in their ocean, so if they want to eat one or two people, it's no big deal. It's really no big deal. Well, that's life, man. Get used to it. That is life. Get used to it. I think we dive right into the deep end with this one, guys.
SPEAKER_03The pool?
SPEAKER_06The pool.
SPEAKER_05Oh, the pond cast, of course.
SPEAKER_06Let's just get you know serious.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Oh.
SPEAKER_06I got a question for you.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's with it.
SPEAKER_06What do you think is something that's never gonna go out of style? It's been in style your whole life.
SPEAKER_03Fashion-wise or just d in general?
SPEAKER_06Um dealer's choice.
SPEAKER_03Because you know what? I was thinking about that today. I was thinking about it today. I was like, there's only so many options for fashion, right? We either get more conservative or we get real loose with it.
SPEAKER_06Less conservative.
SPEAKER_03Because we're kind of in a pretty good middle ground. But I mean, like, it's either the hemlines go up or the hemlines go down. That's the two the two options.
SPEAKER_06Where do you think the hemlines are going?
SPEAKER_03And thank you for I have a fear they're gonna be going up. Oh, they already have. They've been going down in the sense of the high rise.
SPEAKER_02They've been going down in the low rise, but they've been going up as in micro shorts. In their they're like, Oh my gosh, micro shorts.
SPEAKER_07I think I saw a girl wearing them today.
SPEAKER_02I was wearing well, I I don't think I call them micro. You're not wearing no micro shorts, no micro shorts.
SPEAKER_06I saw some micro shorts, and I I felt like I had to look away. Like I accidentally caught this girl like in her underwear or something. And I was like, oh wait, and I was like, wait, no, I'm in public right now. She chose to wear it.
SPEAKER_02Which is funny because the micro shorts are also a trend of bathing suit this summer. Go on. Yes, the bathing suits bottoms.
SPEAKER_03The bathing suits are getting more conservative. The bathing suits are getting more 70s. The clothing's getting more scandalous.
SPEAKER_02Tankinis are coming back.
SPEAKER_03Tankini tank.
SPEAKER_02Tankinis.
SPEAKER_03I would rather die than be in a tankini.
SPEAKER_06Can you explain to me what a tankini is?
SPEAKER_03Oh, a tank top bikini.
SPEAKER_06It's a tank top.
SPEAKER_03It's a one piece cut down the middle. Cut cut in the torch.
SPEAKER_02So people are wearing tank top tankinis. Okay. Cut off right in between.
SPEAKER_06And boy shorts.
SPEAKER_03And boy shorts, yeah. Okay. 70s wearing it. Back in the day, back in my day. You wore a tankini if you were too chubby to be seen in a bikini. Okay. Bikinis were for skinny kids. And you chub you big old chubby kids, you wore tankinis. Just put on the tankini. It was a thing where it's like, I wasn't, I didn't wear a bikini until I was a grown adult. I was truly out of high school? You weren't wearing a tank. No, it was like 20. I bought and I bought it. Okay. And I bought a bikini. I bought a bikini.
SPEAKER_06And I was like, You were rocking a one piece or a tankini. Okay.
SPEAKER_07That was utility like a utility for you because you are a rat in the pool. You're an absolute swim rat in the pool.
SPEAKER_06You are a swim rat.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, I love a bikini.
SPEAKER_06A bikini would just slow you down.
SPEAKER_07You told me one time. You told me like, just by the way, you're like I'm a poor. By the way, uh, I like actually like swimming. And I was like, oh, it's kind of funny. And then you swam at my parents' house. It's like I'm not joking. The children the whole time. I haven't expected. You're like, I can beat you to the side. And I was like, he's little before. He learned how to swim last summer. And you're like, I bet I could beat him. I was like, I could beat you.
SPEAKER_06A race joke. Okay.
SPEAKER_02These are also Tanquinis were also like more modest. But I mean, not to cut you off.
SPEAKER_07But I'm just saying, like, I the problem I feel is. You were thinking sensible because you actually play in the pool. It's not like you just sit by the people.
SPEAKER_03I think my mom was like, God forbid, a person to her something.
SPEAKER_07Okay, that's what you think it is. Okay. Alright.
SPEAKER_02I'm not responding to that. I feel like it was more, this is comfortable. Oh, yeah. For you it was we can't let God see that mid-drift. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's what it was.
SPEAKER_06You think Jesus wants to see that shit?
SPEAKER_03I see like a two-year-old in a bikini. Oh my god. We're gonna clip that. I see like a little kid in a bikini, and I'm like, why are you in a bikini? You're a child. True. I was wearing tankinis and one pieces. Until you're until you're grown.
SPEAKER_07Sure. Um I didn't know that the teeny, what wait, what'd you call the shorts? Teeny Weeny Tankini.
SPEAKER_03Boy shorts. Boy shorts?
SPEAKER_07No, the the really small one. Micro shorts. I didn't know about that trend, but I swear I saw a girl at a coffee shop today. I was like, I was going, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Like oh, I stepped into Hollister, and it's like I stepped back into time. Yeah. It has the exact same clothing that they had in Hollister when I was in middle school. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I was like, really?
SPEAKER_03Correct me if I'm wrong. This is a prime bag.
SPEAKER_06Not too long ago. How many Tankini pictures do you got? A lot.
SPEAKER_04All of them as a kid.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_04Now when you're the awkwardness, 11-year-old face. Okay. This was a double ticket.
SPEAKER_06Way more midrift than I can expect it from a tankine top. I'll show you. I'll show you. It's like a top tank top now. I'll show you a I think I get the I think I get the concept.
SPEAKER_04It's a little more older than a one-piece.
SPEAKER_07Maybe pull pictures.
SPEAKER_04It's a little more older than a one-piece.
SPEAKER_07I'll say when I saw the girl in the coffee shop, I felt like my father, when like girls in high school wore normal shorts. I was like, I was like, this is like it doesn't seem right, you know what I'm saying? Uh-huh. But then I was like, maybe I'm just like out of it now.
SPEAKER_06Like maybe I'm just out of it like I'm used to be with it, but then what it was.
SPEAKER_07But they the the the micro shorts are that they're insane. They're they're they're kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_02Okay, it's kind of like specific stores that opened recently that are now catering to the Y2K of it all. Limited to like tiny little shorts.
SPEAKER_06What happened to I thought long skirts were back in.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, the thing is, that's the thing that's it's kind of this weird dichotomy of like the shorts are going up, the skirts are going down. But you know what? I think the bikinis are for the age range. Go on. Oh they're going way up.
SPEAKER_00Oh, like I've been told they're going up. I'm wearing a four-inch inseam. That's been the last four years.
SPEAKER_06Oh, so you're doubling up? Yeah. Oh, so you're like my four. You gotta go two inch inseam. Oh, what are you Amish? Come on.
SPEAKER_03I think that for the people who are over 25, things are becoming more modest. Like the boat necks are in boat neck tanks. Help me out with boat necks. Yeah, it's like the straight across from like collarbone to collarbone. Boat neck boat neck. Scary, tasteful. Um like a linen pant, you know, but the younger the younger girls, it's like these tiny little bikinis, these tiny little, um, the tiny little not bikinis, the spaghetti straps are back in. Spaghetti straps. Oh, yeah, built-in bra spaghetti straps. Spaghetti straps is back in brackets. These tiny little skirts that I'm like, there's no way. Anyway, rather there's no way you're keeping everything in there.
SPEAKER_02They're tiny skirts with built-in shorts. But the built-in shorts are underwater.
SPEAKER_03They're just underwear. They're just underwear. So what are we talking about?
SPEAKER_06Okay, so this is fads, right? Things come and go. What's it?
SPEAKER_03What's timeless? Oh, what's timeless? Sorry, yes, what's timeless? The question you gave me. I'm I'm driving this show, by the way. Timeless.
SPEAKER_06What's timeless?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I didn't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna say silver jewelry. Timeless.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Silver and gold jewelry. That's never gonna go out of style.
SPEAKER_06Love it.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I don't know. I've I you know I hate the word timeless because I feel like that was a word that and I think brides are even using it today when like Jordan was planning our wedding. She's like, I want something timeless. And I I always like that this feels like a buzzword. So infuriating because I'm like, everything is in fact like not timeless. Like everything, like, like everything is inherently is of its time. Like nothing, and it's so funny too, because like as a photographer, I'm like, how are you not like understanding that? I'm like, because she she would she would uh there was photography trends too that was like this is a timeless look. I'm like, no, it's not timeless for who?
SPEAKER_02That's why I believe silver and gold is timeless because that dates back millions of years.
SPEAKER_06Well, not millions, maybe tens of thousands. Silver rings beginning of uh dawn of time for sure.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but I think I think I think that's a little broad because I feel like jewelry like goes from maximalist to minimalist all the time. So big chunky rings. It's like it's almost like saying white wedding dresses time.
SPEAKER_03Men's wedding band. True. You know, it's a trend that liner that boys stop wearing them. It's a trend that liners.
SPEAKER_06Well, men, so there you go. Maybe not.
SPEAKER_02Like the width, the width of both of yours, it's like that's always how it's gonna be.
SPEAKER_06Wait, this is one second.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wait, wait, kind of time. No, kind of do like a one in a time.
SPEAKER_03Timeless.
SPEAKER_05If you're lost, you can't. What is this for?
SPEAKER_06Which one? What is this for? Why are you why are you posting that? Which one looks more timeless to you? Leave a comment down below.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna say he finally asked. And I finally asked.
SPEAKER_02I finally said yes. Finally said yes.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I don't know what trends will. Honestly, I'm being genuine. I'm trying to think of one. Diet Coke is timeless. I was gonna say something like that, right?
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say something like Well, that's what I'm also asking. I'm not just asking fashion. I'm also asking like, what is like oh I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_07It's tough. I was gonna say, I you know what I see a lot of now, but again, it's that timeless because I think it is gonna change. But yeah, like I look at Apple Watches and I feel like Apple Watches haven't really changed. Like, like there's the ultra, obviously. That's the biggest change, but like a guy who works wearing one, and I'm like, that could be the first iteration Apple Watch, or it could be the fourth, and I have no clue. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02I went through I think Apple Watches in general are going out of style. You think so?
SPEAKER_06I think I'd definitely stopped wearing not watching not watching mine, not wearing my watch as much. Why not? I was wearing it every day, all the time.
SPEAKER_02You need to, go ahead. I made the mistake of not using mine for months, like probably eight months.
SPEAKER_07And exploded.
SPEAKER_02I went to put it on to work a Padre game because that's the reason I got my Apple Watch was for work. I put it on and went to my app and everything was gone. Um couldn't get into it, wouldn't turn on, the app was gone off of my phone. It couldn't remember it, fully had to put it on its charger for an entire day.
SPEAKER_07Yep.
SPEAKER_02The next day tried it my phone, could not find it.
SPEAKER_07You have to repair it when you get a new phone.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I literally erase the entire watch. Yep, start over, repair it, and now it's doing this fun thing that I have to go onto my phone and manually pair it. Oh and after 10 minutes, it units pairs.
SPEAKER_07How old is the Apple Watch?
SPEAKER_06It's like five years old. Yeah, yeah. More than that, maybe.
SPEAKER_07It's time to kick it. I'll say my buddy just got an Apple Watch. It's like the newest non-ultra one. And he's like, it was like 300 bucks. I'm like, remember when Apple Watches were like $1,500 and $1,200. I'm like, he's like, yeah, I he's like, I went down to Apple and he's like, I couldn't believe it was three hundred and fifty bucks. I bought it. I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_06Um mine's been sitting on the charger for I I want to say two years. Mine was like sitting on the street. I haven't touched it. It's been sitting on the charger. So I won't be surprised when it blows up.
SPEAKER_07But you're running down. How do you not want to try to do it?
SPEAKER_06I'm holding the phone, dude. I am holding the phone.
SPEAKER_07Strava off your phone. I'm Strava on the phone.
SPEAKER_06Strava. Well, yeah, Strava, of course. Okay, you can't do it. Which is awesome. Um that's a new one for me.
SPEAKER_02I have my ring. It looks unimpressive. I use my ring for tracking.
SPEAKER_07I think a straight line looks unimpressive to me on Strava.
SPEAKER_06Here's what I love about Strava is a few things. That. Yeah, the miles. The little you're doing great, how many miles you've run. I love little routes, right? The little route. Yeah, people make routes. Here's my little route. Oh, and I post my little picture.
SPEAKER_03I think the pictures are fun. Look at there's my route.
SPEAKER_06Here's like a it's like a reward. One thing I think is straight. I see a straight line.
SPEAKER_03One thing that's gonna be timeless, and I think it's loose. Yeah, hello!
SPEAKER_06Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03I think that there will always be like sports fandoms.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03I think that fan being a fan of something, the fandom of it all, the like obsessiveness over a sports team.
SPEAKER_07Oh look at my hats. Don't look at my hats when you say that. No, I was just looking around.
SPEAKER_03I was just looking around. I'm messing with you. That's gonna be like that will stand the test of time. I think that will be timeless. Teams come and go, whatever. I think that people crave a unifying thing, and I think that like even if the Padres sell and they move to wherever, whatever. Don't do that. No, no, but I'm saying, like, it it's if the Padres sell and move, I won't be a Padres fan, by the way. But you'll find another fandom. You'll find something else. Maybe. I don't know. I wonder about all those Charger fans.
SPEAKER_06Those who who was the the Oakland A's, right? Didn't Oakland move?
SPEAKER_03Where did they the A's went to LA or Sacramento?
SPEAKER_07Sacramento. They're going to Vegas eventually. Vegas. But yeah, I felt devastated about that. It's crazy too because I'm like, they moved into Sacramento to then move to Vegas. I'm like, why didn't they? They had this like iconic.
SPEAKER_02Oakland is right by San Francisco. They had the Giants. Yeah. Why did Oakland even need a team? Why does it have the Dodgers and the Angels?
SPEAKER_00So like what's the point?
SPEAKER_07LA LA has like two baseball teams, two football teams, a ton of like LA has an insane amount of teams. And I think it's dumb. Ten million people in LA.
SPEAKER_03What is it? Rams and Chargers?
SPEAKER_07Rams and Chargers, and then they have uh the Warriors. Don't they have two baseball teams? I mean basketball teams.
SPEAKER_06The Lakers and the LA Clippers. Wait.
SPEAKER_03The Clippers and the LA Clippers. Golden State is Las Vegas. Is Clippers not?
SPEAKER_06Golden State Warriors?
SPEAKER_03The Warriors? No. That's San Francisco.
SPEAKER_07San Francisco. That's right. Golden Gate Bridge. Clippers. Are the Clippers in LA? I think they're the LA Clippers, I'm pretty sure. I don't know, maybe not.
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_07They have a lot of teams. A lot of teams. I don't know. I mean, it's hard to do that. LA Clippers. Because the market is like it's a big, it's a big city, right? I mean, it's a city that can handle it. And actually, you know, we talked about this too. It's like the it LA is going to actually be the first city that hosts the Olympics and to make money. Make money. Because usually countries go broke.
SPEAKER_06But they have a lot of the infrastructure already built.
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah. And like soccer games are going to be played down here.
SPEAKER_02It's going to be more the traffic. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_06That plays into it though. That kind of hypes it up.
SPEAKER_02LA traffic.
SPEAKER_03Where are the winter Olympic Olympics after that? Didn't they announce that? I don't know if they've announced that yet.
SPEAKER_05Don't worry about that. Easy guys. Um I hope we go dumb phone.
SPEAKER_07Oh man. Oh god. This is a happy house experience, but I the same experience I saw that girl, I saw a little old woman, and she flipped open this beefy flip phone. Like it was like it was like, I don't know it does it well, obviously I don't know the brand, but it was like thick. And I was like, man, doesn't that take you back? Little flip phone.
SPEAKER_06Something that I hope is timeless is I hope we get back to like some form of pop culture that is like unifying again.
SPEAKER_03Like I feel like American Idol when it first started. Maybe it's American Idol. I guess fandoms naturally have competition. Right. Like sports.
SPEAKER_06But there's so many like subcultures on the internet now that it's like there's not really an MTV.
SPEAKER_03What about like the shows? Sorry, I cut you off, guys.
SPEAKER_06No, that's it's an open forum, really.
SPEAKER_03The shows like love on the spectrum. Sure. Like there's so many people, and neither am I, but the people love it. And they're in for no other reason than they are rooting for every single character.
SPEAKER_06And it's great.
SPEAKER_03It's not like The Bachelor, it's not like whatever. It's it's truly like, oh my gosh, I love them. They are all amazing. I want the best for them.
SPEAKER_06Not strong enough. What people want is to root against somebody. Yeah. Like this. I feel like the survivor fandom is way more into Well, that's just because they've had more seasons. No, I mean like as a concept. Like against you. Like like baseball teams. My team against your team.
SPEAKER_03You know, someone's gonna win. It's like our natural instinct to be like, it's it's like nature, right? It's like, could I survive against this person? Could I beat them if I needed to?
SPEAKER_06Could I like Could I make like, you know, 12 matching cupcakes that look all uniform? Like the Great British Bake Off. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Could I get the handshake from Paul Holly?
SPEAKER_06Could I get a Paul Hollywood?
SPEAKER_07I think there's a lot of a reality TV show delusion happening in the world right now. I think these I think you any show you watch, I mean I'm a victim of it too, where I go, I can do that. Like you know what? Like even Forge and Fire, which is like making knives and source. I'm like, how hard could it really be? Right? So true. You heat it up, you hammer it down, you put it, you cool it off.
SPEAKER_02Any reality TV right now. Because there's nothing right now.
SPEAKER_06What was the show that was on the other night that we were watching? It was like Jimmy Fallon.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's password. Password. Kiki Palmer.
SPEAKER_06You guys see him password?
SPEAKER_02I heard about it. Oh, it's so funny.
SPEAKER_06It's me and John versus you and Kara. No, it's you know it's me and John versus you and Kara.
SPEAKER_02And a celebrity.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah. Sure. Is that the one?
SPEAKER_06Pretend John is Jimmy Fallon and you're Kiki Palmer. Whatever.
SPEAKER_02No, Kiki Palmer's the host.
SPEAKER_06Pretend you're Raven Smart.
SPEAKER_02There you go.
SPEAKER_06Jesus Christ. We're trying to guess the same word. Yeah. You only get to say one word. You don't want to reveal it to the other people. Yeah. But you want to reveal it to your personal. I've seen clips of that. It's called Password. Have you ever seen it?
SPEAKER_03It's a fun show. I've seen clips. I haven't watched it.
SPEAKER_07We're going to have a game show spin-off here on With Podcast. We talk about what's going on. It's going to be called Bad Word. We just us playing Uno on Legends. I mean, game shows are great. We talk about this summer.
SPEAKER_02It's always going to be a game show.
SPEAKER_06Are there? I mean, I feel like the game show like Heyday was kind of the 80s 90s.
SPEAKER_02They have the big, the big ball drop show.
SPEAKER_04Oh.
SPEAKER_02They have Jeopardy and Will of Fortune.
SPEAKER_04She licked her microphone. She licked your microphone.
SPEAKER_06You licked it.
SPEAKER_07She licked her microphone.
SPEAKER_06Gross.
SPEAKER_07I watched the whole thing go down. It was incredible. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02The fuzzy microphone. There's so much mung on there, probably. It happens.
SPEAKER_06It happens. I love when you start putting your head on it and you come up and there's like a black ring on your forehead. And that's what you just licked, by the way. That's so great.
SPEAKER_04We just start the podcast right now. She goes, No, okay.
SPEAKER_02I think game show's out. I think Jeopardy will never go outside.
SPEAKER_07How does it taste though?
SPEAKER_06I think it's kind of legacy. Like it it exists as long as it had because it was like such a moment in like the 80s, 90s.
SPEAKER_03I think it's I think it will die off with this next generation. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02You kind of need to think about what we did during COVID.
SPEAKER_06Sure.
SPEAKER_07Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02We were all watching Jeopardy.
SPEAKER_07You know what I think is timeless? Game nights with your friends.
SPEAKER_03First of all, I want to say not everyone was watching Jeopardy.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm saying. I wasn't. No monoculture.
SPEAKER_07I wasn't, no.
SPEAKER_06We're all just watching our own little or you know, for some some people, we're all just listening to an audiobook accidentally for hours.
SPEAKER_03On the recommendation of an author I like. And it's about hockey.
SPEAKER_07I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_03No, it is. It is about hockey. No. No, it is. It is. But it's about a lawsuit in 2025, a sexual assault case. That um and it's talking about like all the like it's basically it's like bringing up like and it's called um Ray We Raise Lions, and it's about the jun the like toxicity of junior hockey and like what people do and what like cover up to get their kids and to get these kids like to the NHL. And it's basically this journalist who wrote it who was like, hey, like is that all sports? I think that's kind of primarily that is the point. It's saying like hockey's kind of more low key because it's not as like it's not as like prevalent as like baseball or football. And so they're saying like but there is this huge like push for these these communities like junior hockey and there's I was I was just reading about it the other day too about there's like a high school hockey competition that they like has been going on for decades and it's almost more important than the Stanley Cup. Like people come out from all over the world. But beyond that like the fans like pe like people want to go watch it.
SPEAKER_05I remember the Stanley Cup at the double Stanley the Stanley Bowl Stanley Stanley Cup the oldest no North American um recurring trophy.
SPEAKER_07Did you know that? Really?
SPEAKER_02Is that because of Canada?
SPEAKER_07Well it's just been a little bit the longest because it's the same trophy when they started doing the oh okay so it started just as the top portion and then they add the rings and then decommission the rings every once in a while.
SPEAKER_03Yeah to make sure it gets bigger every time.
SPEAKER_07No it doesn't get bigger it stays like four rings but when the when a new ring gets added because there's no more room they take the top ring and they retire it to the the NHL fame.
SPEAKER_06That's such a made up tradition.
SPEAKER_07Like they were like eventually after 10 years they're like now we take off the top ring and throw it away enough if we had we had if we had gone that long that's what would happen with lip sync battle in the ring off uh we don't have enough money to make a new trophy no there's like wait that's why we're stopping lips battle because there's no more room on the trophy more room on the trophy wait we could just get a new trophy that's genius yeah no more room it's the longest running trophy in CNT history first made that trophy oh I'm so sorry I'm sorry I made a tap when we first made that trophy the idea was to go all the way around and we just never then once we end now once you decided to end on 10 the one side is 10 so it's perfect. We have to combine Sean and Bobby won the same year. So we moved them over was it the same year or was it the same last year.
SPEAKER_06Yeah but didn't you do two shows that year? Oh they won together well that's stupid you got two plaques.
SPEAKER_03Well because they they originally they're originally they were originally on the same plaque each now this is our own portion of the trophy.
SPEAKER_06No then it'll just be a big empty trophy. Is there an combined 2017 and then move up all of them?
SPEAKER_07Boop boop boop is there 11 or 12 there's this one or you could slot in the last one right here and it'd be like the first there like after this year when we know the final one we're gonna get them all remade and they're right because some of them are like colored weird and just over time they just kind of you know whatever the lady had to do it.
SPEAKER_06Why do you it's you know it's history. It's done.
SPEAKER_07You're right should I put the winner of this year on the bottom oh yeah or I think maybe I think maybe I plan to go oh yeah on top nobody wins this year and just be like you can't do that to me you can't do that to me.
SPEAKER_06Specifically know some people that would be really upset if you didn't there's a reason things happened this year. There's a reason not get pregnant to win lip sync to win lip sync battle but it was definitely talked about it was talked about automatically the moment I found out.
SPEAKER_07At length it's been talked about Kara you're gonna win lip sync battle you know I I thought I had a thought Kara the other day I was like what maybe I just open it up to everybody again and I thought I can't do that. You can't do that you can't do that it's just not fair. It's just not fair. What do you mean like open it up so everyone is possible to win there's not even proud you did that once and immediately Bobby won again so I don't know if that's like really fair to everybody Bobby because because of the you know he's not coming in until the day before the big reset Bobby's not resetting though.
SPEAKER_06No nobody's resetting that's what John's just saying yeah we can't I can't win. That's what I was saying as I was thinking about opening it up but then but then he said well it would still be fair because Kara he thinks is a contender.
SPEAKER_07Oh I I think Kara could win on her own merit no no doubt but I just somebody says to himself no self we're gonna stack the deck no because I I just think everyone well Bobby keeps I mean it's mainly Bobby Bobby keeps like well it's last year like and I was like yeah but that's not really the spirit of the game that's not the spirit of the game that's not the spirit of the game if I if if we ever play back if Bobby's stacking the deck because he thinks he can win but that's just not how the game works. Bobby's always bringing something crazy and cooking up and Bobby I would say I think it's the longevity and the the amount of effort he puts in mixed but it's like he kind of has a fan base with a lot of the base of the people because he's been around for so long and he does go so hard. But I I see I you know there's some theories I think I think you it would be fine but we're not going to that obviously no of course not there's one more year it's gonna be fine I'm excited I gotta send it out I think I'm gonna send it out tomorrow you won't you won't I've been like playing with it for a while I can't say how many weeks we are out because that'll date us we're close we're close we're close yeah it's it's gonna be a fun year I can't wait I've been there's a lot happening the closer the closer I get to it the more excited I am about it being the last year. Is that clear it is good but I'm like normal I'm like I'm excited I'm excited it's gonna be really fun one last little blowout and then who knows what's next I have no idea I'm excited for Jack to be at this year's I know and then I'm excited to go you know come September we'll have the next lip sync battle well the babies edition and the babies edition kids edition awesome it'll be like um you know Adam's lip sync battle right we're raising up cousin Adam to Cousin Adam when does he turn 21? That's when it all starts right this year in in oh my god no no his birthday's in January this year together we're I would say one of my favorite moments out of the whole 10 years bold statement was your your wicked um portion last year Carol so it was so funny I thought for sure she had it with that and you know we we talked about doing the lift and it didn't work out but I felt like the latter was even better because it was perfect.
SPEAKER_03Hilarious I like Ryan in his pink dress and his his blonde wig doing the Glinda parts randomly popping up it was a perfect duo.
SPEAKER_06Yeah well did you do that? Yeah I did while doing the leaf blower yeah while doing the leaf blower that's right yeah also I love the leaf blower of it all oh that's that's been inconsistent you should probably have that thing like cast in iron or something or you know bronze when they bronze stuff blower?
SPEAKER_07Yeah the leaf blower I'm gonna make a wall I'm gonna make strike show awards and one of them one of them is a leaf blower award that's what we should do this year. We should after lip sync battle wait the next the next day yeah wait the next day get really drunk again go to Denny's we do spirit awards yes yes we have pool party we have a pool party we've Costco pizza you know I'm down for a pool party I love swimming party I have a big old scar on my foot from going too hard at your birthday party I think last year it was two years ago no it was day party remember he he had a he had a little pool party before lips yeah we did yes and I did a lot of the diving board you gonna rock that again or one party enough for us I think I'll probably I was thinking about that I'll probably invite you guys to like family party party turkey cheese you know your mom had a pretty baller family party this year so if we could run that back yeah well what I'll say is um we're going to the pottery game is on my birthday my actual birthday and it's Trevor Hoffman Bowet yes it is so my family's like low key and I'm I'm actually gonna widen it out to to obviously you guys and build send out the invite to like you have to buy your own tickets. But I mean it'd be fun to like and I feel like it's I'm just worried it's a little harder to I'll text your mom yeah yeah text my mom buy me a ticket hey I'll be right back and she would go you gotta go I get a pass. She's pregnant you know what I was thinking about next I'm gonna I'm just gonna run this by you tell me yeah watch that step there.
SPEAKER_06Yep okay now you've taken all the attention away from the show yay or nay on on some of my ideas for what's next.
SPEAKER_07Now I'm gonna take a couple years off nothing. You don't want to do anything horses say no I was thinking one of the things I've done how fun would it be okay you guys he called me a horse I did not again go ahead John go ahead John are you guys talk this out oh my gosh oh my gosh I'm gonna put on my old tankini stop winning sorry stop whining oh my gosh it's so I'm gonna put on my tankini and kill myself myself go ahead John pop it cabaret show like like like bring your own thing bring your own piece of music stay the body's not even cold yet of lips battle can we just chill out how about next year we go out to a bar for your birthday yeah actually I do want to do that I want to do that for five years call a sitter let's just and we don't have to do any lighting cues karaoke classic karaoke awful to me you love a karaoke I love karaoke karaoke I like karaoke karaoke how about that's what I'm saying yeah oh yeah shoot me just kill me are you kidding me that's exactly what I just said okay karaoke did that yeah that's what I said let me explain hitting this place I was just talking about a cara break and then you went karaoke so I thought you meant like a full blown karaoke thing in my parents' backyard no actually done no nobody is saying do a full blown thing in your parents' backyard except for you you are saying after this year maybe you're having a birthday party not in your parents' backyard I'm done I'm done I think next year you should probably do it in your brother's backyard what's what's bigger than lip sync battle like lip sync two like what's Eurovision Eurovision let's do like a Eurovision next year in your parents' backyard like the biggest thing that anyone's ever seen in their dun I'm out of the game hey what about this we don't have a big party we have a small friend group trip oh that's birthday trip what if we do that now guys we don't have to do that for the birthday we can just do it now I think we should do I think I think we should I was just telling you about this last week I think we should do a friend trip I think we should do a yearly you guys were talking about it yeah I've been talking about it nonstop have you been saying yes go on a friend's trip are you kidding me have you been saying how I feel about the karaoke thing talking with you I know okay all right that's fine if he doesn't listen up he doesn't listen I I have been hearing Ryan and I agree but here's what I think we should do for years I've been talking about I'll just get in the car and just start driving. Let's just go different I think I've done that we've done that I think we should do this I think we should choose a month okay and we commit no matter what's going on in our lives that we do a trip in sometime in that month every year. What do you think?
SPEAKER_06I love it.
SPEAKER_07And it could be a staycation it could be a road trip it could be fly somewhere maybe every once in a while you want to go for a whole month you want to go on a trip? No just a trip within that month. So we're committing ourselves for every year to trying something in August putting together a trip hell or high water no matter what in the month sometime in the month of August and we can make it work based off of what we have going on that year. You know what I'm saying I like I think we need to pin it to a month so that we like commit to doing it. Right. You know because I feel like the the vagueness of like we're gonna do something this summer it's like oh well July I can't and then let's do it you know I'm saying let's do it this summer. Okay love it.
SPEAKER_06August let's do it in August done my wife's gonna have a baby in September so like a staycation would be great. We were talking about this is crazy going to the Grand Canyon do you guys like a Grand Canyon idea?
SPEAKER_07I actually Northern Air You're going to the Grand Canyon in August not in August I my family is doing 4th of July at the Grand Canyon this year no next year next year.
SPEAKER_06Okay you're on me about let's get a something planned at some point in any month of the year and you're talking about next year's 4th of July yeah well my family's on it man what are you talking about how did that come did I did I get that wrong what's is the Grand Canyon the one with oh no we're going to Mount Rushmore I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry we're going to Mount Rushmore I'm sorry it was pet I knew it was patriotic I didn't know if it was a Grand Canyon or not I I don't know the difference I don't want to dunk on that but that sounds so underwhelming. You're driving to South Dakota to go see Mount Rushmore I know you know what John no John let me clarify maybe I'd have it wrong Mount Rushmore is literally you just get out of your car you walk down a trail you see the mountain you go are you talking about Old Faithful Yellowstone? Yellowstone now Big National Park Yosemite could be cool 4th of July Yosemite better now better okay great okay 4th of July Yosemite you know what maybe I have it wrong I'm sorry it doesn't matter but we're going to have a trip on the I want to go on a on a trip to the Grand Canyon.
SPEAKER_06I think there's a lot of cool part about the Grand Canyon reminds me the little the little town the vastness of the canyon it's done it is in a word and I'm not saying this to you know diminish you. Sure.
SPEAKER_03The canyon is grand I feel like I'm a little more excited for the little town you stay in oh and then you get to you get to live out your best uh radiator springs vibes cute it's really Williams is where we went I found I figured out the town Brindley and I stayed in a little H O or a KOA little campground super Q right outside KOA's a uh it's like a nicer campground they have them all over the country and they have you can have like a little motorhome they also have little cabins it's just like really well kept what if we all just hop in the car and just start driving what if we went to the Grand Canyon you are you are driving like five hours he's been six hours no get don't get it wrong he's been it's like eight I've done the Grand Canyon I didn't get to see it when I was they got fogged out it got fogged out unfortunately I'm outside yeah when is is there like a season when it gets fogged out or is just no it's just rain apparently it was August that year. It was August that year um but I think if we go let's go like post lips in battle let's get through lips battle that's August and let's well July July August let's go on a little bit August was fog but maybe we'll we won't go that day um we'll go a different day we'll go a different day I do northern Arizona um Sedona's nice yes yeah I you know what I'd I'd love to go classic I'd love to do some hiking south Southern America road trip is they did the Grand Canyon and then went to Sedona stunning yeah let's do it I'd love to do some hiking get out in the the mountains John could you make that happen I mean yeah we just have to we have to get it on the schedule let's get it in the books no I'm not I'm saying let's go pack up and go next week I'm saying let's get in the books let's talk to your boy we have to see the key is the game are I think it's in early August let's let's get in where we fit in yeah before school starts of course that'd be ridiculous if we went without school man and uh I kind of like I kind of like a baby road trip yeah like uh you have a baby on a road trip I I kind of like now could he do five hours in the car six hours we used to drive all the way to Durango in the car as a baby you think do a little rest stop you do obviously stop at calico we're not gonna not stop at calico at Calico with a c with a cab cover on the other unless you're going the northeast we actually went we went to Williams sorry now if you do the if you do the northwest side you can go to the glass bridge but it's on an Indian reservation and it costs like eighty dollars to go on the glass bridge.
SPEAKER_06Dang yeah glass bridge I just watched a girl do a um glass bridge that's a glass bridge up the donkey tour over the canyon the donkey tour into the little beep up down there beep there's like a trap there's like a little the other and there's a camp and you can get coffee down there and stuff beautiful yeah we might not do that we're not gonna hike the 10 miles down into the canyon but I'll tell you what if I'm hiking 10 miles I'm I'm taking the donkey back up I am that donkey is coming with me oh like just take it ride it back up.
SPEAKER_02Okay now if we go in early August and we go on a donkey I might go into early labors.
SPEAKER_03No no I'm not gonna put you on the imagine if your child was born in the Grand Canyon. On the back of a donkey not a lot of people are probably dead I'm married.
SPEAKER_06Jesus said I'm married. God hey donkey buy me dinner first okay I guess okay I guess they're they were considering both for Mount Rashmore tell them that Mount Rushmore I spoke out of turn no you have to take Tanya with you if you're going to Mount Rushmore she wants to go there so badly that is a very like American I I get it I get it go to Mount Rushmore go to Grand Canyon I want to go to Mount I love have you been though never been I haven't seen I feel like a lot of this country I haven't been to say I've been to a lot of places on the East Coast.
