Don't start.
SPEAKER_00Woohoo! Yeah, baby. Oh, nothing like a little bit of podcast for a little bit of summer breezy summer day.
SPEAKER_05Brazy.
SPEAKER_00Here in Dublin, Ireland.
SPEAKER_05Can't you hear can't you hear the breeze? Can't you hear it?
SPEAKER_00Can't you right? Yeah, can't you basically hear cheeky little breeze? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Welcome back, everybody, to what the podcast. I'm Ryan. And together we are Ryan. In the Bluuth, as always. My lovely wife, Kara DeFoya. Give it up. My unborn child, Lucy June.
SPEAKER_03Oh, love her, love her.
SPEAKER_01Joining us this week from her West Coast tour. Just got off a plane at LAX with her dream and a cardigan. Give it up. For Annie Discover Scopeman, everybody.
SPEAKER_03Hey oh.
SPEAKER_04Cardigan in this one.
SPEAKER_03Cardigan.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's the land of fame excess.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I'm gonna fit in.
SPEAKER_01Hey. Guys, uh, another day, another idiot jumping off the cliffs. Check this out. Boom!
SPEAKER_05He hits his butt.
SPEAKER_01He landed on his butt. Broke his butt. He's fine, but did you see that?
SPEAKER_04Some people trauma. You know that like bird rock in the middle?
SPEAKER_01The bird rock, yes.
SPEAKER_04They climbed up it and they were jumping off of it, and it's covered in poop. Yeah. And there was like they like a part of it um fell like the sandstone fell off as they were jumping.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_04Everyone's fine.
SPEAKER_01What's the name of their group, you think?
SPEAKER_04Um, Dumba. Stupid big. The shit eaters.
SPEAKER_01No, they're not. Well, that's if they fall, yeah. The bird boys? Birdrock boys. Bird rock boys. I'm going all in on bird rock boys.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I feel good about that.
SPEAKER_01I love a group name.
SPEAKER_04I love I love a group name.
SPEAKER_01Did you guys ever have like a really cursed group chat name?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Give it to me.
SPEAKER_04I don't even know how it got started. It was called Nexium. Okay. Which was the name of a cult. Is that hair found out? No, Nexium is a um It's hair remover, isn't it? No, it's like a heartburn. Nexium was the name of a cult that Al Allison Mack was in.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04In my um, she was a girl that was in a cult. Okay. She was an actress, turned cult. She was like the right-hand man of the cult. Um, and then is in jail for like sex crimes with said cult. Right hand woman, probably. Yeah, right hand woman.
SPEAKER_01Cult woman.
SPEAKER_04And I it's for GERD and acid reflux. First of all, a horrible name of a cult. Nexium. Okay, but look at look up Nexium Colts.
SPEAKER_01What's the hair remover stuff?
SPEAKER_04I'm not sure. Rogame O'Near.
SPEAKER_01No, Rogame puts a hair on.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you're right. Rogue puts a hair on. Oh, oh, this is spelled weird. Yeah. N X I V M. Yeah, which we didn't spell like that. We spelled it unfortunately like the Scout medicine. Um, but then I remember someone being like, oh, Nexium, like that cult. And I was like, Oh, it's a Netflix documentary. Yeah, all about it. It's like a smaller. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was in a group chat in high school called Infinite Infant. It had like a rotating name. Yeah. There was like at one point it was like Mars can't hear you fart or something. Anyways. I don't know why I just group chat.
SPEAKER_04My Bible study group chat was always Bible bitches.
SPEAKER_01Bible bitches.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Always. No matter what Bible study I was doing.
SPEAKER_01What did the church think of that? Did they get a big thing?
SPEAKER_04Um my college pastor did hear about it. He thought it was funny.
SPEAKER_01Okay. He didn't have to squash uh.
SPEAKER_04No, he also came to a goodbye party they threw for me, and it said, bye bitch, have fun in DC, I guess. On a big banner, that was the entire banner. And they brought said college pastor to party.
SPEAKER_01Expensive banner.
SPEAKER_04They made it themselves.
SPEAKER_01Oh, nice. Big banner though. Big a series of lined pieces of paper that they taped together, probably.
SPEAKER_04It was like a here's all the letters. You just tape them on the banner.
SPEAKER_01Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_04Um, Kara, any cursed group chat names?
SPEAKER_01You weren't doing the group chat names?
SPEAKER_04Not really.
SPEAKER_05We didn't really do group chats in high school.
SPEAKER_04We have one, and I it was it got named before. I got I got inherited into sexual Red Cuppers?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, the Red Cupers, of course.
SPEAKER_04That's now. Yeah. That's current, the Red Cupers. But that's probably my only one. I mean, we have a couple, like, we have some that are kind of like inside jokes to make fun of other people.
SPEAKER_01Dang. And you don't want to say them.
SPEAKER_04We have one that's Matthew's missionaries because we knew this kid, Matthew, who's a who thinks he's a missionary, and like really toxic, like sneaking onto reservations to try to convince them that they need to be Christian. Like been kicked off multiple reservations. So we like we made the joke that like we all found out about it together, and someone named our group chat Matthew's.
SPEAKER_01That's pretty good. Like we are then part of his I would have called it like no reservations, probably. Or like That's good. Reservation for Matthew, table of five. His family. Well, yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_04My old roommate trio, my our group chat is named Rutherford after that cursed monkey I had at a wedding. The toy monkey that the bride acted like was her real son. Yeah. Named Rutherford. Oh. He's also the actually no, from another wedding, a hamster with a veil is on, which was the cake topper for a wedding I did.
SPEAKER_01I remember the hamster with the veil on the code.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, hamster with the veil. And that is so it's named Rutherford, hamster with the veil, cake chopper is the picture.
SPEAKER_01Will you turn on the uh on air sign for us if you don't want to? Oh, you know what? It turned off. I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_04Uh huh. We did have a rolling power outage.
SPEAKER_01That's really fine.
SPEAKER_04That's what happens in these properties.
SPEAKER_01Me and my cousins have a group chat called the Burning Wipees because that's our band name. Because on a camping trip, somebody threw like like we were cleaning up the table and threw the wipies into the fire, and then it was like the burning whiteies.
SPEAKER_05Which Tanya literally yesterday at the bonfire fire literally said, Noah, can I throw this in the fire? And it was a wipey.
SPEAKER_01Burning white bees.
SPEAKER_04And can you? If you can't flush it, I don't think you can burn it. Well, that's it.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why it was like they were just burning for so long. So bright and so long. The other working band name was Stuck in My Straw. That was a good one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's a good one. But what's stuck in your straw though?
SPEAKER_01Well, that's a big question, huh? It depends on what day it is. Little bits of milkshake, I guess.
SPEAKER_04And it really can be a think piece of like your straw being your mind and whatever's stuck in it. I like that.
SPEAKER_01Being stuck in your mind. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, stuck in my straw.
SPEAKER_01You just got back from Olivia Dean Colorado trip. You were telling me about it just moments ago, and I'd like you to recount just a little bit of the highs and the hires. Because I don't think there was any lows, right?
SPEAKER_04Ah, no, no lows at Olivia Dean.
SPEAKER_01Any lows going to Colorado? Let me ask a few preliminary questions. Was this a sit-down concert? No, or was this a stand-up concert?
SPEAKER_04Now there was a couple moments where we sat, some of her slower songs, her ballads, but she fully said, I want you guys to get up and dance.
SPEAKER_01Oh, see.
SPEAKER_04And here's the thing.
SPEAKER_01If I have a chair, I'm sitting in it.
SPEAKER_04Oh, well, absolutely. My one of my favorite concerts I ever went to, Lizzie McAllen. I sat down. I said love. But you know what the thing is? It's such a it was such a steep stadium that even if the people in front of you are standing, you could still sit. That's great. Amazing. That's great. Amazing.
SPEAKER_01I need to. I was just talking to Michael Oakley about this. A sit-down concert is so much better. I'm turning 30 this year.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I hate to admit it, but all those stand-up concerts. Two thirds of the way through, I'm like, yeah, I'm good. Yeah. Like, don't care for the it's gotta be a band that I'm really into. Like Olivia Dean, I'd probably be floor. I'd probably be standing. She's great. Love all her music.
SPEAKER_04We did, we were still still.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, just give me a little sit-down.
SPEAKER_04Was such a good concert that we did look at buying floor tickets for the next day.
SPEAKER_01Oh dang. Oh that was a real conversation.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and then we and then we were joking because we were talking earlier in the day of like, we're like, well, we need to look at what other concerts are coming town, we need to check out concerts. And there's one day in San Diego where role model and somber are the same night.
SPEAKER_00Whoa.
SPEAKER_04And so and then someone said, someone was like, who's choosing somber over role model?
SPEAKER_01Aren't they basically the same?
SPEAKER_04They're yeah, they're like the same. Yeah, they're the same. Somber's young. We look up, we're like, you know what, we're here for one more night. Why don't we see who's playing Red Rocks?
SPEAKER_01Awesome.
SPEAKER_04It was Somber. Somber was not Red Rocks. It was the first night of his American tour. And we looked up tickets and it was just not worth it for the like two songs we know of.
SPEAKER_01You already touch took such a strong stance. You're like, I'm never seeing Somber.
SPEAKER_04No, we've really thought about it, but we're like, okay, if it hits under $100, we'll do it. This is his first show at Red Rocks. And you know what he did? They like Somber broke out his like broke history. And I was like, oh, what do you do? He spray painted a flag and ran around the rocks. Okay. And that you know, he made history. I don't know nothing.
SPEAKER_01I don't know nothing about No Somber.
SPEAKER_04He's the one who's like, can I go back to being friends?
SPEAKER_01When we judge ban and he's like 22.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he yelled. He was wearing like leather flare pants. That gives you an idea. And like a lace tank top. In the summertime? In the summertime, in like a hundred degrees. Oh God, no. You gotta do what you gotta do. No. Belly Dean. Amazing. One of the classiest women out there. Really? So classy. Her whole set, her set was classy. All her merch was great. Um, everything, like, and she didn't. This is a controversial opinion. And this is something that I really appreciate. No encore.
SPEAKER_01Ugh.
SPEAKER_04A big finale, and when it's done, it's done.
SPEAKER_01No encore.
SPEAKER_04No, no one even tried. She literally said, and what I love too, there's a couple of really special things she did in her concert. I'll get to them. Sure. The way she ended is she literally is like in the middle of the stage, she's like, bye, Denver. She's British. Bye, Denver. Thanks for pulling with me. I had so much fun dancing. She's like, bye, bye, bye. As as the thing's closing. And she's just like dancing away in the clothes. Credits.
SPEAKER_03Over. Oh. Credits.
SPEAKER_04That's everyone who worked on the production. That's nice. Also, one thing that I really loved, her two backup singers, there were multiple parts where it was just them on stage when she's doing like a change and stuff. Okay. And they brought them to the middle of the stage and they fully had their moment. And people are cheering them on multiple times. It was her. The screen was a big curtain behind it. It wasn't an electronic screen. It was protection on a curtain. And it was her in the middle. And they would split screen. They would they would do close-ups of the two backup dancers and put them on either side of her. So it it's you're seeing all three of their faces. It's not like the backup dancers in the shadow, which I've seen. Sure. Literal backup dancers sitting standing in the darkness on stage.
SPEAKER_01Plenty of people do that.
SPEAKER_04And now it's a little more common, or maybe it was like coming back in style. She introduces her whole band.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Very cool.
SPEAKER_04And she introduces her backup singers by name. And like I just, there's some. Give it up for Cheeky Sogwatan. It's like after Give It Up for Penelope Traco.
SPEAKER_05I feel like artists always do that.
SPEAKER_00And you're like, it's kind of late for that.
SPEAKER_04It's kind of late. Like I'd like to know their name.
SPEAKER_00Give it up for Judy Hornswogo. Yeah. Like all these British people. Give it up for Peter Malark.
SPEAKER_04Whatever. No, but it was really, I loved and then there was a moment where she um she talked about immigration status and like why she's like, everyone's people. I don't care where you vote, I don't care where you're born, and I don't get why people do. And I was like, I love. Pop off Queen. Um she's not from here though. She's not from here though. So I was talking about it. There's a lot of issues. For sure.
SPEAKER_01For sure. Oh yeah. Look, hey. You don't have to tell me it. I know.
SPEAKER_04You hate the Brits.
SPEAKER_01I know I hate the Brits.
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, but ten out of ten was a great concert. We sat there at the end. And it was sweet. Her kind of she she did like perfect amount of talking. When they talk too much, I'm like, shut up and sing. Shut up and sing.
SPEAKER_01Show it up at you from the background.
SPEAKER_00Show it up at you. Hey, shut up and sing.
SPEAKER_03You're here to see you sing, shop.
SPEAKER_01You're sitting down.
SPEAKER_03Shut up. Yeah. I want to see her sing. Um who's that back girl?
SPEAKER_02What's her name? Introduce that girl. That's you in the background.
SPEAKER_04She I did a great bit where my one of my friends who went, Kayla, kept on being like, I have she plays this song. I hope she plays this song like all day. And I go, Text her. Text her pet. Ask her, text her.
SPEAKER_01Text her. Just text her. I'll call her. I'll call her.
SPEAKER_04And then every time she'd be going to introduce a new show, and I'd go, I'd go, and this one's from my friend Kayla, who texted me earlier. Who texted me earlier?
SPEAKER_02Thank you, Kayla. Great observation.
SPEAKER_04But then the next day she ended up doing because she changed up the set list and changed up her outfits. Which I was like, man. Okay. And she ended up playing the song Kayla wanted. And I go, and she goes, She read my text too late.
SPEAKER_01Dang. Left on red.
SPEAKER_04I go, you didn't specify which night.
SPEAKER_01You didn't say, oh, Saturday night.
SPEAKER_04Live, girl, the B Queen, Olive.
SPEAKER_01D D.
SPEAKER_02O D. O D, what's up, O D.
SPEAKER_04O D is wrong.
SPEAKER_02That's a tough one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I and I'm sure she didn't get that like mean nickname in school because she went to a performing art school Brit with some very popular names, some alumni that you know.
SPEAKER_01Called Oxford.
SPEAKER_04No, it's good. It's a performing art school called the Brit. It's called like Britain's Okay. Britt's got a talent. Anything just because she went to a performing art school, they didn't call her OD. Well, I think that's yeah, they did, I think. Tom Holland went to the same school? Tom Holland, a little performer named Ray. Ray. Ever heard of a little Lola who does Messi.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um, some older alum that you might know, Adele and Amy Winehouse.
SPEAKER_01Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. All went to the same performing arts school.
SPEAKER_05R.I.P.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna keep my I I had a wait. Okay, I'm gonna leave it. Okay, make it. Adele. Yeah. Adele. Went to school there. Yeah. So it's uh is it like Pop Star Farm?
SPEAKER_04It's like yeah, it's like Victoria's school. So it was like SCPA here.
SPEAKER_01No, it's like um what was the school they went to in Victoria? So it was like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, what's the school they went to in Victoria's?
SPEAKER_01No, no. It was called something else.
SPEAKER_04It was called It was like West Side or um Gotta get your gotta get your uh That's Zoe 101.
SPEAKER_01I know you see me standing here.
SPEAKER_04What was the school in Zoe 101? Um Pepperdine. Well, yeah, it was Pepper Dine.
SPEAKER_01It was like something pack. It was like Pac Shores or something. Yes. Was it Pac Shores?
SPEAKER_04Pacific Academy or something like that?
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. Pacific Coast Academy, PCA.
SPEAKER_04PCA. That's what it was. It was PCA. Oh, I wanted to go there.
SPEAKER_01We went to the movies today and we saw a trailer for a like an indie type beat film. Yeah. And Debbie Ryan was in it.
SPEAKER_05Fully, fully took it out of the trailer.
SPEAKER_01It was like Dakota Fanning, who I can take seriously.
SPEAKER_05It was like a serious, like love triangle trailer. Dakota Fanning opposite. What?
SPEAKER_01I I keep wanting to say Oscar Isaac, but it's not him. It's a guy that looks like him, but he's from um New Girl. Who's the guy from Newgirl? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh Schmidt? Nick.
SPEAKER_01The Mexican guy.
SPEAKER_04Nick? Nick. Oh, Jack Jack Johnson? Jake Johnson.
SPEAKER_02No combination with the Kaboda. Jake Johnson. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04He has a great podcast. And it's like, she starts dating him, he has his family, whatever. Debbie Debbie Ryan. No, no, Dakota Fanny. Dakota fanny. Okay, okay. I'm tracking him.
SPEAKER_05They start dating, and then he's like, he's you can tell that he's like, I want you to like really think about being with me because of my kids and all this stuff. The movie is whatever.
SPEAKER_01But the best friend character is like Debbie Ryan. And she's like, hey girl, like it's gonna be alright. You're like, what the heck?
SPEAKER_04She literally popped up and went. What's her iconic thing? What's her iconic thing? No, and the other one when she's talking about it. She's like, I'm Radio Rebel.
SPEAKER_01I went up to the Disney execs and I said, I want to make history. And so we did.
SPEAKER_05I want to make history. It's her swoopy bangs in Radio Rebel.
SPEAKER_01I'm Radio Rebel.
SPEAKER_04I'm Radio Rebel. No, I'm Radio Rebel. So good. So good. She sucks.
SPEAKER_01First time two now, two weeks in a row. We've been back to the movies. Is it serious? No, we're not stubbies again.
SPEAKER_05No, today it was half off, and since it was a matinee, it was stacked 20% off. So it was a good one.
SPEAKER_01I had a stubby friend buy it for me, so a one, Michael Penning.
SPEAKER_04Um, but you guys all saw it together?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we went to the movies, yeah. It was awesome.
SPEAKER_04That's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Don't really my job.
SPEAKER_04I'm mourning me being a working person.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm mourning is that you could take the weekend off. I was slinging coffee all weekend. Where were you? Hanging out with Olivia D.
SPEAKER_04Oh, and it was a super relaxing weekend. I love Colorado. So there you go. So there you go. We went to the goal to get it.
SPEAKER_01You went to Colorado last summer, or was it two summers ago? Last fall, and you kind of came back a similar way where you were like Colorado is my second home.
SPEAKER_05I like the thrifting and the coffee in Golden Days.
SPEAKER_04Yes, the thrifting is great.
SPEAKER_01Was that where the um there's like a river that runs through the town? Yeah, there's a bridge.
SPEAKER_04It was Buffalo Bill Days. So there was live music, there's like a whole like uh like Buffalo Bill Days. Buffalo Bill Days. Buffalo Bills helped found their town.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_04Buffalo Bill. Yeah, he also killed a bunch of Buffalo. I was I was gonna say, isn't he?
SPEAKER_01Pico's Bill, that's who I'm thinking of.
SPEAKER_04Um he played a villain in his traveling show that he put on about the American West.
SPEAKER_01No, you're thinking of Buffalo Bill, the murderer that's in Silence of the Lambs. That's who you're thinking of. No. Must be because there's a lot of people.
SPEAKER_04Buffalo Bill, like he put on, so basically, here's the history of the thing. Yeah, he's like Paul Bunyan. No, he's well, I guess it was Paul Bill. Paul Bunyan wasn't real. Yeah, I know. No, there was Buffalo Bill. No, Buffalo Bill was. Buffalo Bill is real. He started as an American soldier with the Union Army.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but he was like Davy Crockett. Like he's real.
SPEAKER_04No, he's real. And then he killed a he got his name because he with the Continental Railroad construction, his job was to kill Buffalo to eat, to feed the railroad. And then he did a famous show.
SPEAKER_01I'm hearing all that, but what I'm telling you is none of that is true. He's fake. He's a myth. I didn't just look it up. He's totally real. That's like there's a photo of it in like gun shows. But it's like Annie Oakley, who's like kind of real.
SPEAKER_04In his show.
SPEAKER_01I know. She's technically real, but no, she's not. You know, it's like Davy Crockett. Oh my gosh, so many people. Davy Crockett, Abraham Lincoln, Peter Pan. All of these people are fake.
SPEAKER_04Abraham Lincoln is so good. Like, wake up, America.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. You know who else is real? Mickey Mouse. Yeah, shut up.
SPEAKER_04You guys sound like idiots.
SPEAKER_01You guys are so stupid. None of those people are.
SPEAKER_04I, before I went to Denver, I was at a work conference last week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Right next to Disneyland. Didn't go. Rip. But I heard this new Anaheim Convention Center. Yes.
SPEAKER_05Nice.
SPEAKER_04That Disneyland is doing nighttime tickets for residents.
SPEAKER_0550 bucks.
SPEAKER_04Because it has been their lowest ticket sales since 9-11.
SPEAKER_01That's hard for me to believe. Yeah. Because the last couple of times we've been to Disneyland, there was 1 million people there. Maybe because it's so hot and it's a good thing. Womp, freaking womp, dude. Really? Oh, Disneyland's like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_05Give your residents for all day.
SPEAKER_01How about make better movies first? I'll start going. Make better movies. I'll start going to Disneyland as soon as they start making better movies.
SPEAKER_04Amen.
SPEAKER_01Moana remake? Yeah, nice try. Nice try. Oh, we can see it. It's called Moana.
SPEAKER_04No. It's an awesome movie.
SPEAKER_01It came out 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_04In this house, we live, laugh, love, and only watch original movies.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Thank you. Oh, good times. I love that. Well, while you were gallivanting around, I was sitting on the beach.
SPEAKER_05For one day. It was so relaxing one day.
SPEAKER_01It was really nice.
SPEAKER_04The other day's not relaxing at all. Worky, worky, worky, busy, busy, worky.
SPEAKER_01It was a pretty busy weekend.
SPEAKER_04That was the cart. I I don't I don't often miss the cart. Yeah, that's true. Maybe I missed a couple days of it, but I never I'm very seldom am I never there. It was good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can appreciate that. Um it was great. It was hot. Monday was just a here's what we did. I made sandwiches. We brought hot dog materials. You would have been proud, Annie, because I usually get a rap in this group for wanting to bail the beach after like an hour or two. That is one of the dogs.
SPEAKER_04That's your classic move.
SPEAKER_01We got to the beach at 11 30. I sat until sunset, which was like almost eight o'clock at night. I was in the water. I was a freaking boogie boarding rat out there.
SPEAKER_05It was the waves were psychotic.
SPEAKER_01The waves were crazy. There was a million people.
SPEAKER_05Crazy waves, a million little bits of seaweed. Literally looked like we were swimming in chum. There was so much seaweed.
SPEAKER_01It was great.
SPEAKER_05I saw I saw bits that looked like flubber.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_05That like looked like carcass.
SPEAKER_01Shark action.
SPEAKER_05It was really warm in the water.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we were going to experience shark action. It was pretty tumultuous.
SPEAKER_04No, I think all the same. Shark action's been happening, so the chum could have, you know, floated down.
SPEAKER_01Chum chum? Chum was flowing. The chum was flowing.
SPEAKER_04Chum flowing. My band name.
SPEAKER_01The chum was flowing or just chum flow. Chum flowing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Chumflow.
SPEAKER_04Not just chumflow. I don't like that. That's horrible. It's great. What are you talking about? I'm gonna have beautiful ballads with my band Chumflow. Oh that's Did it get um Sunburnt? No, yeah, you guys did.
SPEAKER_01You guys are totally good meaning to address that. I'm also sweating. Can you tell?
SPEAKER_04No. Oh yeah. Well if we need to do that.
SPEAKER_01I'm sweating.
SPEAKER_04It's but that's partially because you're sunburnt.
SPEAKER_01What's funny is It's definitely because I'm sunburnt.
SPEAKER_04It looks like I'm more sunburnt than I feel.
SPEAKER_01You look really sunburnt.
SPEAKER_04You look really sunburnt.
SPEAKER_01You look like you got got for sure.
SPEAKER_05It doesn't hurt at all.
SPEAKER_01That's good.
SPEAKER_04Your kid's gonna be born and you're gonna hold her up, and you two are gonna look like completely different skin colors.
SPEAKER_01They're gonna be like, oh my god, I got adopted.
SPEAKER_04That's so sweet. Oh, what did you decide to adopt?
SPEAKER_00That is a tan child.
SPEAKER_04Or she won't come out tan. Kara's gonna use her little nail UV light.
SPEAKER_05Just like seeing how white my tan line is. Oh man.
SPEAKER_04That baby's gonna come out crazy.
SPEAKER_05And then she's gonna be tan real quick.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because you're gonna be cooking her up in the UV.
SPEAKER_01What's our update, Kara? Were we 35 weeks? 34 weeks?
SPEAKER_0433. Oh my god, 35? No. 33. No, I think it's 34. It's 33. Okay. Um, so what's the size? What s what fruit is she?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Guys, you need to keep up with the important updates. What kind of fruit is she?
SPEAKER_01Kara, I hate to tell you this. I do. Oh no, we are 33 weeks. Yeah. Ryan. That seems wrong. Did you adjust the body? Well, she doesn't know she can't feel it. The baby is the size of a cabbage patch kid.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_04So, like an actual baby doll? I don't know. Like an actual baby. Baby doll. A baby patch kid is big. Look at that big head.
SPEAKER_01Well, probably not the head, but like Can you look up fruit?
SPEAKER_04Sure. Sorry, that was kind of whiny of me.
SPEAKER_05I had to go to the fire department and get my toe ring cut off.
SPEAKER_04Oh no. Wait, what day?
SPEAKER_05Last week. On Friday. Saturday. Oh no. Saturday.
SPEAKER_04Are you having are you have you hit the the sides where you're kind of having a hard time bending down? Um reaching the toes is a little bit more of a Well, yeah, you could you gotta go into a deep squat.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was more the worry of getting a puffing.
SPEAKER_05I've been trying to get it off for like a month.
SPEAKER_01Nice.
SPEAKER_05And it's like where toe rings are like, they're never supposed to come off. Yeah. They're staying on under the knuckle. And every time I take a shower, I'd be like, oh, they still like twist just fine. Like there's still room. But then I was like, swelling's supposed to be really, really bad on your legs and your feet during birth. Yeah. So I was like, I should probably try and get it off. I couldn't get it over the like big meat of your toe on the top. So I literally, I was like, I have to go to the fire department. Because they do that stuff for free.
SPEAKER_04Do they do it? Was it free? They cut rings off.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a bunch of cute young firefighters helped her out.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god. I'm gonna get a I'm gonna get a toe ring stuck on my toe. Oh my god, my toe! My ring!
SPEAKER_01Cut it off.
SPEAKER_04How'd they cut it off? Just a little, a little there's a tool that they tried to use. It looks like it's like a little hook that goes underneath and then it cuts, and then there's a wheel. Oh, oh, and they crank. So it's like uh kind of like a bone saw. Yes. Like a a cast saw. But it's it's mini. Kind of like a little and it's a crank.
SPEAKER_05That didn't work. And he even said he was like, these things suck. Like they're bad. Didn't work. So then all the fire the all the guys are like, what are we gonna do? What tool are we gonna use? And the guy went, I'm just gonna grab some big pliers. Like big snippers. Yeah. And I went, okay. And he comes back with literally a regular tool and he goes, he like shimmies it underneath the ring. And he goes, Am I touching any skin? Like, am I gonna clip any skin if I do this? And I said, Nope, you're good. And I kind of just prayed. And all you hear was the biggest like crack. And then they were like, okay, we got it. And they had to like open it and then take it off. And then they went, Do you want it? I had the two two toe rings. Do you want these? And I said, My Delmar Fair toe rings. No, thank you. Anything else, ma'am. Throw them away.
SPEAKER_04That's nice. So now I have something in the girly tan line.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'm gonna have to see that after. Can't put it on the internet. It's not for free. That's behind the paywall. Four dollars.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that'll be on the post show for sure.
SPEAKER_04And they literally, I was leaving and they're like, we're just so glad we could help you. And I was like, You know what? It's probably not often that they're not dealing, especially they were bored. Where you guys are at. That it's you're not dealing with they're dealing kind of with like more of the.
SPEAKER_01You don't think we have some serious problems over in Obi?
SPEAKER_04No, I'm saying they're dealing more with the serious problems. They're dealing with the drug problems and the ODs and the and the you guys have had some shootings recently.
SPEAKER_00Well and stabbings. Have we? What? Do we have any shootings?
SPEAKER_04What? Were they stabbing?
SPEAKER_01There was a stab, but there was a stab. There was a stabbing not too long ago. I don't think anyone was shot, but um It's been stabbings.
SPEAKER_04Well, yeah, they'd be stabbing. And let me say the fire department are probably happy to help a nice, friendly, pregnant lady who wasn't actively giving birth.
SPEAKER_01Or getting stabbed.
SPEAKER_04Or getting stabbed.
SPEAKER_01I will say this is not a funny thing, but like the UK has outlawed guns, right? Yeah. They don't have the same like gun regulations that we have here. But like all of their like panic, their things that that are on the news is like there was a mass stabbing today in London. Five people were stabbed with a knife. It's like how we have like shootings that happen here in the States. It's like, oh yeah, there was a crazy man with a with a kitchen knife and he stabbed a bunch of people.
SPEAKER_04Did you see the homeless man who stole the tractor?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_04San Diego's getting well, I'm kinda I'm kinda rooting for him though. I mean What did they they caught him? Yeah.
SPEAKER_05It was an excavator.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, here's my thing. Excaverator.
SPEAKER_04Excavator, excavator.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05It's always like you're asking for two. It was like four in the morning. Still.
SPEAKER_04You know, this is just like when that when that guy stole the tank back in the day and drove the tank up and down the street.
SPEAKER_01The tank guy. I think about him all the time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's don't leave the keys in the tank. Don't leave a key. Don't leave the key in the excavator.
SPEAKER_01In the excavator.
SPEAKER_04That's why I always feel like I always see like motorcycles parked with keys in them. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm always shocked more when cop cars, because they leave them running.
SPEAKER_01I'm like I thought the same thing. Recently I saw a cop car running like out in front somewhere. And that just like no cops anywhere.
SPEAKER_05Like down the block up there. My dad told me one time that he keeps the back doors open. Like unlocked. Or in his cop car, he always kept the back doors unlocked because stupid people would literally be like, ha, I'm gonna go to the cop car.
SPEAKER_01You can't come out.
SPEAKER_05And they'd shut the door and be like, Oh, oh, I'm stuck in here now because there's no handles. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You're like, idiot.
SPEAKER_01I went to a police station on a uh field trip one time, and that was they threw us all in the back of a cop car. And like we were in there for like a few minutes. They were like, haha. And we were like, okay, anyways, the tour is gonna go on now.
SPEAKER_05We were like, wait, like the plastic backseat.
SPEAKER_04The hard the hard plastic. Oh, please! I have a child! Please. I do wish. I've never been in the backseat of a cop car. Mom, dad, you know what I'm saying? That's shocking. Um, but I do wish that I would have had some sort of crazy lore. Never an actual arrest, but maybe like Any run-ins with the cops? No, not serious. I mean, I've gotten two speeding tickets when I two speeding tickets within the first six months of driving. And not one since. Not gone. Well that'll do it. Um, but no, never nothing serious. Well, that's good. And now it's too late. Now if you do it now, you're a grown adult when you're almost 30. Like you're almost 30, you're that's embarrassing. When you're 16, it's like, oh yeah, haha, when I was dumb and young. Now it's like if I did something that is kind of naturally embarrassing.
SPEAKER_01I just watched this body cam footage of this old lady that like got pulled over, and she was like fully fighting with the cops, and they were like gonna write her a ticket, and she was like, I'm not signing that ticket, and they're like, Yes, you are. And she's like, No, I'm not. It was like a to typical like old southern granny. She's like, I'm not signing anything, hon. And they were like, Okay, if you don't sign this, you're going to jail. She's like, No, I'm not. And she fully, they they tried to pull her out of the car and she drove away. They freaking chased this old lady down and threw her in handcuffs and threw her in the back of a cop car. And it was like your grandma, it was like an old, old lady. It was so funny, it was so awesome.
SPEAKER_04Like, Queen, come on.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, she had that coming for sure. I saw the whole cam footage.
SPEAKER_04Hey, and I said get her.
SPEAKER_01And I said get her. That's people aren't get. That's where red cuppers came from. Is there was like some sort of bit where we were like drinking out of red solo cups. We had a red cup. And we had accents, and it was something to that regard. It was something like that.
SPEAKER_04Should we? I mean, Ryan, not Ryan.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Ryan. Go ahead. John Jordan and I, we have a funny name for our group chat, and it's called Red Strips. Because one time we went to Red Strips.
SPEAKER_01We went to Taco Basic Taco Bell. I've heard that story.
SPEAKER_04Yes, and there's red tortilla chips in a burrito, but they were called red strips. And John asked the Taco Bell employee, he goes, So what like what is the red strip? And she goes, um, they're red strips. Oh. And he goes, Yeah, no, okay, I got that. But like, what are they made of? She goes, I don't know. They're red strips. Oh my gosh. He goes, Okay, I'll get that. Like, definitely got reds having no.
SPEAKER_01A stupid question to answer, but equally as stupid to ask.
SPEAKER_04Like, easily she could have been like, oh, they're red portato chips. But like she just felt it's like they're red strips. I don't know. They're red strips. To this day, our group chat's called red strips.
SPEAKER_01They're strips of red. That's pretty funny.
SPEAKER_04So, guys, we so ours is just Ryan, Kara, and Annie, so we have to come up with a good one.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we can say the name of our group chat on the air like this. What? It's super inappropriate. Virgin River. That's just a river that Annie's in.
SPEAKER_03Hey oh.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Artie is Artie attack.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. Attack. It's the dog. Hey.
SPEAKER_04Attack. Hi, Bubba. One more time. Come on, buddy. Come here. Oh, hey. Okay, buddy.
SPEAKER_05Here he goes.
SPEAKER_02Here he goes. Come on. Come on. Go. Go, go, go. Right here.
SPEAKER_05Come on. He's going. Oh God. Oh God. Go.
SPEAKER_02Jump up. Jump up.
unknownOh God.
SPEAKER_02Oh my. Jesus. Hey, buddy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm so glad you're here. Aww, Arthur. Artemis. The podcast is basically over, so that's fine. You can hang out for a little bit. Hi, how's your summer, buddy? You want to say something?
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's great. That's good.
SPEAKER_01That's great. Aww, Bubby. Anyway. Um, I'm kind of spiraling because I feel like summer's ending. It is. Not only at the end of the summer do we have to have a baby, but like, you know, the summer and all things hot. And we did our first beach day. I feel like I'm not carpeting an FDM, you know. Any, how about we get to the beach? Alright? How about how about you you hop in the car? Head down to the beach. Well, not right now. I know. Well, maybe not. Next week. Maybe not now. Next week.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, this week's kind of a bust for me.
SPEAKER_01No kidding.
SPEAKER_04You guys got a big concept.
SPEAKER_01Busy gal. Yeah. Busy, busy gal.
SPEAKER_04You don't know half of it.
SPEAKER_01You know. You don't know half of it.
SPEAKER_04I don't know the half of it.
SPEAKER_00Rachel. Thanks a lot, Rachel.
SPEAKER_04I saw his video. Thanks to you. It's like things that you've heard. Things you people say to you that your name's Rachel. And it's that. And then it's show it to me, Rachel. Show me to me, Rachel. Show me to me, Rachel.
SPEAKER_01That's so good. I love that. Jesus was seen.
SPEAKER_05You know what's missing in here.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead. John. The trophy.
SPEAKER_05Boom.
SPEAKER_01I think it's a good thing. Because it's getting ready.
SPEAKER_04It's getting ready. Oh, Kara had a great post about her. And now I finally posted LipSync winner. She's finally coming down from the hives. The final winner of any lip sync battle ever.
SPEAKER_05Ever in the history of lip sync battles. Ever. In Santee, California.
unknownEver.
SPEAKER_01Well, until we make our big announcement.
SPEAKER_04I have a great number for that.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_02How can we go back to doing lip sync when this was the last year? Hey, hey. It's a musical.
SPEAKER_05I was doing.
SPEAKER_01Oh, oh, okay. Bringing your tap skills into play.
SPEAKER_04Oh. Would you put your daughter in um well, here's a question for you. You're you're having a daughter street. Riddle me this. Would I put her in dance classes? Would you put her in dance? Hell yeah. But are you gonna be a parent in which it's like, well, what do you want to do, kid? Or it's like, you do this until you decide what you want to do.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm loving about. Kids need the push. This summer my niece is going to like ten weeks of summer camp, and every single one of them's a different thing. Last week was like horse camp. This week is ice skating camp. Oh awesome. The week before that was like.
SPEAKER_04Do you think she is she liking the week?
SPEAKER_01There was a whole week of camp. This is crazy. No, it's only day two. A whole week of camp where every single day they go to Legoland.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was just like five days of Legoland camp. And then they did um Splash Camp, of course, go in the pool. Two weeks of splash camp. I'm like, I think every kid should do that. Oh yeah. You know, bada bing, bada baby. I also think every kid should do that summer camp from the parent trap where you just go away for the entire summer. Yeah, that's just one fun camp. Whole summer, go.
SPEAKER_04That's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Like two months, that would be so sad.
SPEAKER_04But on average, a week-long camp costs a kid about $500. Oh, yeah. If you're sending your kid for like what? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Eight weeks, two months.
SPEAKER_04Ten weeks of camp, that's five grand.
SPEAKER_01It's room and board and everything for eight weeks.
SPEAKER_05You think about it and you're like, oh, that's probably cheaper than keeping them at home.
SPEAKER_01I wonder how much boarding school costs.
SPEAKER_04Uh, probably like not that year anymore. Oh, they do. On the East Coast, there's boarding schools.
SPEAKER_01There's got to be California boarding schools.
SPEAKER_05No, there's not California.
SPEAKER_04PCA.
SPEAKER_01They're called private schools. Nearest.
SPEAKER_04You can go to that and tell you one on one. PCA. They have that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and that's what I'm saying. A private school that you live at. Yeah. Nearest boarding school. Santee, California.
SPEAKER_04The women's prison. The women's prison.
SPEAKER_01San San Pasqual Academy has a boarding school?
SPEAKER_04Oh. Oh. No. No.
SPEAKER_01Spa is the nearest residential boarding school. Oh, I see.
SPEAKER_04And it's actually closing down. Army Navy. Army Navy. 42 foster youth aging out of the system are about. Seriously? There's actually been a big uproar. I went to various meetings about it. There are people trying to basically stop it from happening. But Spa.
SPEAKER_01Midlands School.
SPEAKER_04Midlands.
SPEAKER_01All boys boarding school. Brush Creek Academy.
SPEAKER_04Now, okay.
SPEAKER_05Are some of these gonna be conversion camps?
SPEAKER_04And and are they gonna have a Netflix documentary? Does this look like conversion camps? Yes, it does. How is his leg doing that? Wait a second. Sexy. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Really? The all boys' boarding school.
SPEAKER_04No, like for them, not for me. I think.
SPEAKER_01Wrong button, wrong button.
SPEAKER_03Oh, one week back I'm already cut.

unknownDoesn't help.
SPEAKER_04You learn something new every day.
