SPEAKER_06Last couple of days. I believe it. I believe it. Yeah. And I've been compiling some data. I've been compiling uh, you know, a lot of data, a couple of videos we're gonna watch. Oh things and stuff. Um, but I just want to like take it some time, look back at 300 episodes. Guys, this uh so this first stat I gave to John a couple of weeks ago, actually. So this is but I've updated it since. Okay. We did we've done 300 episodes, 119 episodes in the original studio over at the Albrights. 119. We did 82 episodes at the La Mesa apartment.

Episode 273, What the Bad Bunny Halftime Show. Oh, seventy-two, so back to back is two of our most watched. Episode 272, What the Epstein Files Band.

The Swifties. Over the years, we've had uh lot of guests. A lot of guests, you know. Some of my favorites. The snake guy. Yeah. Of course you guys remember him. I still follow him.

SPEAKER_06That was really funny. One of the best surprises I've had personally on this show. Fantastic. Dallas McLaughlin on the early days. We had uh Sammy Seggy when we were on the Visible magazine. You guys remember that, of course. Yeah. Grace and Matt have been on the show. Oh wow. Bobby was one of our first guests. And uh his the reason we interviewed him is we were interviewing him during Christmas because he was working as Santa Claus at the time. Pretty classic.

SPEAKER_06We talked about being five years out of high school.

SPEAKER_06That's right. That's right. John and I came to a conclusion that AMC Theaters were completely dead and they were never coming back.

SPEAKER_06In the very first episode, we decided that the movies were dead and streaming was where it's at. No. Um we also talked about that streaming was going to be turning into cable, which that has uh definitely come to fruition. Yeah, it has. It has. I did my Nicolas Cage impression. It was great.
SPEAKER_09No, it's it's great. It was really good.
SPEAKER_06It hasn't improved at all in the past 300 episodes. And we played a little game called Fact or Fiction. Of course. A classic. Which we basically do every episode. Yeah, we do. Which is somebody will say something.

SPEAKER_04We used to play it on the keyboard.
SPEAKER_06Factor. Play the keyboard. That was a big I was just telling John, I went back through the logs and watched a lot of the episodes, and it was, first of all, horrible. Yeah, really special. Um, but so much of the show was me playing the keyboard. Like the first three and a half minutes of every episode.
SPEAKER_08The keyboard was in the back of your car. You know, I'm forgetting Sarah Marshall.
SPEAKER_06I know it.
SPEAKER_08When he crashes out while you're talking about the vampire musical, yeah. Yeah. It's that it was basically not every episode.

SPEAKER_06Threw it on the floor in the kitchen, and I had to stamp it out. Well, you guys. You've always been a hero. Yeah, she was uh 20. No. No, we were kids. This is like when we were children.
SPEAKER_04I had a friend that um had a candle, not as big as this, but she it was had been burning for a long time. She went to blow it out, and when she blew it out, the wax, she blew too hard, and the wax came back and burned her face.
SPEAKER_08I've had that happen multiple times at weddings.

SPEAKER_08I have that all the time at weddings. You go blow it out and it splatters up. And one time I literally stood up and it was like hot wax all over my face. Nice. And the venue manager was trying to like tell me something, and I like I like he stops me, he goes, Annie, I need to tell and he just stopped his sentence. It goes, Oh my god. Drippy wax all over you. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_08It like hardened right away, so I'm just like covered in wax. I was like, Yes.

SPEAKER_08No. I have a vivid memory on the podcast on the 25 hour of the Gabby Petito case. Oh yeah. And we were watching. Gabby Petito was missing. They hadn't found her body yet. We solved a like a case on what the 25 hour. And it cuts to Ryan. He goes, Gabby, we're gonna find you.

SPEAKER_06We figured it out.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we we got it. Well, he got himself, but you know.
SPEAKER_06He didn't he confess he was like, I killed Gabby.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it was a like yeah. And it was it was a yeah, in a note.
SPEAKER_06Let's add to that. Okay. Okay, because there's a there's a pretty high profile case going on. Should we talk about that or is that not? It's heartbreaking. It's heartbreaking.
SPEAKER_08You know what? It is okay, it is heartbreaking. The the overall the the the story is heartbreaking. It's the Lindsay Clancy case, but it is I I had a first date yesterday. We talked about it on the first date. It is like on the forefight of everyone's.
SPEAKER_06Hold on, Rosico.
SPEAKER_08No, you did good. Oh yeah, we did. We did. Because his sister it went good.
SPEAKER_06An affirmative good.
SPEAKER_08Um, and he was saying that his sister's into true crime, and I said, has she been watching the Lindsay Clancy trait?
SPEAKER_06I thought you were gonna say, has she been watching my podcast? Because we talk about true crime all the time.
SPEAKER_08And he said, She just showed me a bunch of TikToks about it. Is the Lindsay Clancy trial true crime? She's the one that's a good thing. Well, it's it's yeah, doesn't know what happened. No, no, no, no, no. True crime isn't a murder mystery. I like see, I I see true crime with mystery.
SPEAKER_06You need the mystery. You need the daylight.
SPEAKER_08Or like convincing her in her mental state to do it. If her husband went missing, that'd make it true crime for me. Like if he disappeared.
SPEAKER_06Because have you seen that one on the documentary that it's not mystery, you're right.
SPEAKER_08But it's more like a civil like it's no, it's the mystery is. Well, the whole trial, for those who don't know, Lindsay Clancy is a mother of, I believe it was three kids who was severely had had a severe postpartum depression, had checked herself into mental hospitals multiple times.
SPEAKER_06Allegedly.
SPEAKER_08And had gone no since on a I mean you're 2019. She was a mental health advocate for the police officer. She was for sure. And she was a nurse. She was a mental health nurse. So she knew the sign, she was on a lot of different medications. Um, and she tried to can commit herself into a facility, and they turned her away. Right. And then that was it ended up where she was found out of the case.
SPEAKER_06But this is all her defense, though, is the point.
SPEAKER_08No, this isn't like the story.
SPEAKER_06She killed her her three kids, is the point.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Oh, I was getting there.
SPEAKER_06I'm sorry, I'm I'm saying you're jumping right into what her defense is. That's not the the case. That's what they're arguing.
SPEAKER_00That yeah, that's the defense.
SPEAKER_08But the the story is that she was mentally. Those are the facts of the case. Yes. Yeah. And then that resulted her postpartum depression and psychosis. Yeah. The defense is that that resulted in her murdering her kids. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Okay.
SPEAKER_08And then the sleuths of the internet are tying all these things that her husband, because she was knocked out cold because she had thrown herself, this is the facts of the case, as we see, thrown herself out the second story window and was found paralyzed outside. She was found on her back. Oh she's found her on her back facing the other way with there had been like blood, like as if like she was trying to hold on to the window. There is a mystery of how she jumped. And then there are if he said that he came back, the timeline's wrong, with her body temperature was too cold, so she would have had to been out there way longer than he said he was gone at the store. And if she would have jumped the way that they thought she would have to go, yeah. Okay, wait. Oh, yeah. There's all that stuff.
SPEAKER_06Are we thinking that he tried to kill her? Or make it look like she committed suicide?
SPEAKER_08Well, the whole thing, the whole thing is she tried to kill herself after she knew. But but she was knocked out cold. The confession of her saying, I killed them and I tried to kill myself, he gave the police, and he said he came home, she was alive. Okay, she said. This is way more mystery than I thought. He said that she was she had was conscious when he came home, was outside. She said they're in the basement. I killed them, I tried to kill myself, and then goes, he goes inside, leaves her out there, calls the police, and then by the time the police come, she's at her body temperature is 82 degrees, is out cold, is in a comatose state for like a week. During that week, they tr they uh charge her with the murders while she's in the comatose state off of the confession that Patrick gave them that he said that she said.
SPEAKER_04He had to get it. Oh my gosh. Unless he was a big deal.
SPEAKER_08Well, and then they found out all this stuff like he had a secret girlfriend the whole time that he then got married to three months after the murders of his child, her his children, his three children. Because he's now when did she go cold from her medication though? Because that could have been a good thing. I don't think she didn't know she was on. No, and then she had a doctor say completely stop them, and she did. See, and that's the thing, there's so many details.
SPEAKER_04And then there's mystery, guys. There's mystery.
SPEAKER_06I don't know if him having a secret girlfriend doesn't necessarily condemn him to having like framed her for murder. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08To try and murder all of his kids and her.
SPEAKER_06If she is going through severe postpartum depression, it's not a far cry for him for him to be like seeking needs elsewhere.
SPEAKER_08Yes. But pause.
SPEAKER_06Sure.
SPEAKER_08I'm gonna say if we look at a history of events, sure. If you look at you know, and we will have the Scott Peterson and Chris Watts, practically identical situations in which they murdered their wife and children, and they also had significant others, and it was because they like were basically like, Well, I I want to start anew. Um, Chris Watts murdered his two daughters and his wife because he didn't want the baby basically the baby that his wife was pregnant with, and he was like, I want to start, like, I don't want to do this anymore. I don't I can't divorce her, so Okay, so she's been on the stand. Yes. She's awake and alive and she's she is um paralyzed. And she has never said she hasn't done it.
SPEAKER_06Her their saying is That's always my thing with true crime is like if I knew for a fact that I did not do it, I'd be the most obnoxious. Like, put me on the stand again, I'll say it again.
SPEAKER_08I didn't state a psychosis, like who's to say she even knows really no? Yeah, I mean then and then you can't say you could be in such a state of psychosis that is it like, well, did he kind of like push her hand into it? You know, like did he kind of set it up? Did he not like he knew she was she he knew she was afraid of hurting her kids and then he left her alone with the kids anyway?
SPEAKER_06And like or is he like, Yeah, my wife killed my kids and now I'm being tried by the court of public opinion on the internet, not even in the case, like yeah, well, or was he hoping that the help that she the little bit of help that she was trying to get would help her would help her and he was putting trust in her to be kids.
SPEAKER_08Well, and even then, it like at the end of the day, if you don't believe he did it, which is totally fine, I can understand that, you have to believe that she was failed by the medical system. For sure. Because she tried to keep separate herself from her children, tried to get help, tried to admit herself in the hospital, and they basically said you're not bad. They were saying on the news that this week they released um she called the suicide hotline three times, and they denied her any care because she didn't have a plan.
SPEAKER_06It's kind of like Isn't that crazy?
SPEAKER_08You have to have a plan for them to intervene.
SPEAKER_06Well, for them to come to your house and go, hey, we gotta stop you.
SPEAKER_08There's a couple Google searches that are like crazy um that Patrick said that he didn't do, but she was at the doctor's with her kids when the ha they happened.
SPEAKER_06Googling on her phone.
SPEAKER_08He also sent a work email in the like time frame of waiting for the police to come show up after he he found his murdered children.
SPEAKER_09Crazy.
SPEAKER_08Um yeah, so there's things like that where it's like that's just great, like crazy thing to do.
SPEAKER_09It's pretty sick of them to do.
SPEAKER_08And one of the things is he Googled where's the carotid artery, and she was a like a registered nurse, so like why would she be Googling where's the carotid artery? So there's a couple things where it's like, but you could have thought that when she was jumped out the window. No, this was like before. This is like weeks before.
SPEAKER_06Where's the carotid arteries pretty big? That's pretty tough.
SPEAKER_08Because then the prosecution used it as evidence of her her having a plan.
SPEAKER_06But there's one on your leg too.
SPEAKER_08Of her having a plan to murder her kids. Sure. And then the defense proved that she didn't Google anything.
SPEAKER_04She doesn't need to know where that is because she already knows.
SPEAKER_08That could have been a spoken conversation too that she had with him. Yeah, maybe. I know. Why did you say that? What is that?
SPEAKER_04I think that trial has a duty to to um, you know, if if there's a shadow of a doubt of guiltiness, like for her, I mean, I know they're they have all the facts. We're we're going off what we know in the public. I think they have to say not guilty. I mean, like, I I watch I feel like that is so crucial. Because imagine yourself being being not maybe not being set up, but not knowing what happened and being accused of something, and like, and there's a chance. I mean, obviously, like all the all the signs are saying this.
SPEAKER_06She'll definitely go away for manslaughter.
SPEAKER_08Oh, at the very least. She's not trying to get out into public. She's trying to go into a mental health facility still. She's gonna she's gonna be guilty, but she's not going to change. She's not arguing if she killed her kid, she's arguing if she should be able to go to a mental health facility instead of prison.
SPEAKER_04Come on.
SPEAKER_06Like a low, a low security situation.
SPEAKER_08We've given here's my soapbox for the day. We've given, you know, the insane, like, insanity plea to men who have done more horrific not I don't want to say more horrific things, but have done horrific things and refuse to take accountability.
SPEAKER_09Sure.
SPEAKER_08And here's this woman who's like, I have a history of me with a mental health issue. I tried to get help multiple times, we have it on record, and you're not even gonna give me the credit that like I was in a mental health crisis.
SPEAKER_06And she will, I think. I I think it'll it'll pan out for sure.
SPEAKER_08So now, so the prosecution had all their witnesses first. Patrick took the stand, which is the husband, and he made an agreement with the DA that he would only take the stand once. So he can never be called up again. So he's probably never wants to recount everything. Well, the whole thing was like this is traumatizing to recount the story of your children murdered.
SPEAKER_06He did it, he went up.
SPEAKER_08He went up. He was like one of the first few days or a couple like a week ago or something like that. Um the defense has started calling witnesses, and they called a nurse from the uh hospital in which she was staying, the mental health hospital when they um got her out.
SPEAKER_09Okay.
SPEAKER_08Or when they like when she was in her comatose state, and the nurse basically testified because she had made a viral TikTok that went off, that basically testified all the things she that was lies that Patrick had lied on the stand about. About his experience in the in the ha with the hospital, and she was like, he said this, this, and this. That's not how that happened. Like, I was there, I cared for her.
SPEAKER_06But they it's gonna be her say, you know, they're gonna throw the whole thing out because you he's not on the stand. Like he's not up for trial.
SPEAKER_08He today they had a really weird situation where they excused all the jurors early. And so I'm thinking what will probably happen is a mistrial. Yeah. And either the the DA is gonna try to try her again later, or they're gonna drop it. Like they're just gonna drop it and they'll let her check herself into mental health. What's hard is they're never gonna drop it because of how big of a case it is right now.
SPEAKER_06And that's thank you to TikTok and the news and everything was blown out out of proportion. Yeah. I think you're right.
SPEAKER_08I think that's proportion.
SPEAKER_06Not out of proportion, like higher profile than it's made it. It's made a higher profile. That's what I mean. Um I think that it's kind of similar to the Luigi Mangioni situation. Which is like, oh, you know, he's a victim of the system, right? Is his whole thing. I did it. He he confessed. He's like, I did it.
SPEAKER_08He pled he pled guilty finally.
SPEAKER_06He pled guilty, and now they're gonna kind of go for the same thing, like minimum sentence, because I'm a victim of my circumstance. Yep. And I think that she definitely is a victim of her circumstance.
SPEAKER_05Because all this happened in 2023, right? Yeah, a couple years ago. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So I don't I don't know if they're gonna be like, oh, well, that's right, because we have a corrupt system, like you're not gonna go to jail. I think she'll definitely like be serving time. I think that is the question of just like where that's gonna be and like.
SPEAKER_08I also think it it really shows that there's not enough research and not enough help for women suffering postpartum depression. Sure. I think you know, women's health is criminally underdeveloped and under-researched, like basically. Yeah, basically everything that we have as a basis of understanding health is off of the male anatomy. And if anything has been proven over the last hundred years, is that men and women like fundamentally are so different in our anatomy, and even just like hormone levels, how our bodies process things. For sure. Like it so it's just one of those things where I'm like, man, like it's crazy that only 50% of the population is what we're basing off all of our health knowledge on.
SPEAKER_06Sure. It even if that.
SPEAKER_08I think there's more women than men, I think. There is.
SPEAKER_06Think about the the other girl that's in the news right now who we just lost. She was a child actor. Hidden Pentier Hidden Peniteer.
SPEAKER_08Oh my gosh, both our ice princesses. I know.
SPEAKER_06She was like saying the kind of the same thing. She was suffering from postpartum depression.
SPEAKER_08And she came out and she said, I don't have thoughts of hurting my children, but I don't even want it to get to that. So then she gave all of her kids' rights to her husband. She gave her all of her one kid. She gave all the parental rights to her husband. Wow. Just as like a precaution, because she knew how bad it was. And then she was she was in and out of like rehab for a while with it and and then yeah, it just never sad. It's so crazy. I was thinking about it the other day, and like I was thinking about this question I feel like people ask a lot of like if you could live in any other era, what would you like? What time frame would like when would you want to like to have lived if you could go back in time or whatever? I don't want to ever go back in time at any other time. Everything. I'm like, man, like this is like. Postpartum depression has been happening. It'd be it's been happening forever. As long as women have given birth, it's just now actually being talked about.
SPEAKER_06I don't remember ever hearing about it.
SPEAKER_08Never.
SPEAKER_06Like in high school, in like I think about the 50s. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Where it's like you were supposed to even just hide your pregnancy. It was like gross to be pregnant. Like, or even like the 30s and the 20s and stuff where like men didn't even go into the hospital room. You'd go sit outside. Like you know, it's just like man, like that's so like women's bodies have been criminalized for so long, and it's just wild to me. Wild. I don't want to go back in time because of natural selection.
SPEAKER_06Sure.
SPEAKER_08Go ahead. Yeah, you'd get got with that IBS. All the times I've been in the hospital, I'm like I would have died if it was years and years ago of natural selection. Oh my god, Kara's not in the olden days. Just saying. COVID.
SPEAKER_06You're talking about your IBS? Is that what you mean? You would die from your IBS?
SPEAKER_08No, I think I would die from the first time I was ever in the hospital.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. There are probably apparently that was like a super common thing to like die from diarrhea, like back in the day. You just like have so much diarrhea and you just die.
SPEAKER_08That's not die of dehydration. When I had yeah, it's dehydrated. When I had um the norovirus, yeah. I was throwing up so bad. I was like literally, I I had this moment. I had this moment holding the toilet bowl, going, I totally get how people died of consumption. Like, I like totally get it. What is it? Um dysentery. Dysentery. Yeah, I was like, Oregon Trail. I was like, I totally get like how people died of this. Because I felt like I was.
SPEAKER_06There's a movie coming out with Anne Hathaway? Yes. And she's like a dinosaur one? She's like a uh no. It's it's like in production still, I think. And she's like a housewife that's kind of like a um trad wife kind of influencer that's saying, like, oh, we should all the book that's come that came out that everyone's talking about.

SPEAKER_06And then she gets thrown back in time and has to live through like the 1800s or something.
SPEAKER_08It's this big book. Everyone's reading it right now, and everyone has a lot of really mixed opinions about it. Is it a Colin Hoover book? It's called the No no Bible. No, it's like the noble.

I'm like, no, I'm gonna read eight chapters this week, no chapters next week, ten chapters the week after that. That's what I thought. You were because I don't I don't follow their little plan.
