Pastor With No Answers: The MIXTAPE Era
Pastor Joey Svendsen and a community of podcast hosts from all walks, many holding to the Christian faith (some reluctantly), coming together to de-tribe tribalism, defeat hate with love, find common ground with our fellow man and have some fun doing it. Join us and our guests as we learn more together about God, life and how to come together. Love will win. Might as well join now.

258 - My Depressive Episode: Why Talk About Our Hell
In this episode 1 of “My Depressive Episode: The Five Month Journey,” Pricilla and I give you a snapshot of the depths of pain we experienced and discuss how we are forever changed by this journey. We also share with you the purpose for putting these episodes together. Our friend Ryan Amick comes on to share the story of him and a mutual friend, Ted Demas, conspiring with Pricilla to get Joey out of the house for some BBQ and how that excursion quickly went to hell.
Series Description: This time a year ago (Oct 2019), I was in the mental hospital for a week stay. This move was the product of having no relief from depression and anxiety that progressively worsened through the months. Pricilla and I are going to tell our story over the course of many episodes that will also include the perspectives of friends and family who walked through this hell alongside us. We feel compelled to share the rawness of our experiences as a potential offering of hope to others who suffer with mental illness. We will also do any and everything we can to destigmatize the painful path that many are forced to walk on, in struggling with mental illness.
NEXT EPISODE in this series: Oct 21st (Wed), “To See a Son Suffer” (with Virgil Svendsen).
