Myanmar's Splintered Nation with Ansley Sawyer

P.L. McClaren Season 1 Episode 9

The three of us are joined by documentary filmmaker and all-around badass Ansley Sawyer to talk about the current situation in Myanmar. Ansley has a wealth of documentary filmmaking experience around the globe, but as pertains to this topic, she produced, and co-directed with Corey Embring, a fantastic documentary on the Karenni people called "Like We Don't Exist." The conflict between the Karenni and the government/military of Myanmar/Burma is the longest running civil war in the world. Please see below for various resources related to our conversation, including a link to support Karenni education. Also please check out our recent episode on the recent government turmoil in Peru, with Dr. Americo Mendoza-Mori.
