Hello and welcome to Wednesday’s Words with English with Languissimo® which will help you improve your vocabulary so that you can communicate better in English.
My name is Vanessa Rocket. I’m the founder and CEO of Languissimo®.
Today, I will cover the difference between “to sign up” and “to sign in”.
- “To sign up” means “s’inscrire”. You usually sign up for a race or an online or in-person program or course. Sometimes, you pay, sometimes you don’t. “To register” is a synonym.
- “To sign in” means “se connecter”. You usually sign in when you’re on a computer and you want to access your account. You can use a password, or you can receive a code by email or text message. “To log in” is a synonym. “To sign out” and “to log out” are opposites.
Some Practice Questions
- Which program have you signed up for lately?
- Do you sign in with a password or a code?
Ta da! That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed this podcast. Subscribe to English with Languissimo®, practice, take care and have a great Wednesday! Big hugs 😊
