Hello and welcome to Wednesday’s Words with English with Languissimo® which will help you improve your vocabulary so that you can communicate better in English.

My name is Vanessa Rocket. I’m the founder and CEO of Languissimo®.

Today, I will quickly cover the difference between “class” and “classroom”.

-          “A class” means “un cours”. At Languissimo®, we offer several classes: French classes, English classes, Spanish classes, Mandarin classes and yoga classes.

“Class” is used with the verb “to take”: “to take classes” (suivre des cours).

“Class” also means “classe” and it is used in the context of flying: “to travel/fly first, business or economy class” (voyager en première classe, en classe affaires ou en classe économique).

-          “A classroom” means “la classe”. It’s a place where classes take place so you usually take classes in a classroom.

Some Practice Questions

-          What classes do you take?

-          Do you take classes online or in a classroom?

-          Which class do you usually fly?

Ta da! That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed this podcast. Subscribe to English with Languissimo®, practice, take care and have a great Wednesday! Big hugs 😊
