-          “Former” is the opposite of “latter”. True – If I said : I like chocolate and tea. Which do you prefer? And you answer: I prefer the latter (it will be tea as it was the last one mentioned). The former would be “chocolate” (the first one mentioned).

-          “A felony” is not a crime. False – a felon

-          “To falsify” comes from the adjective “falsie”. False – To falsify = to make false to deceive. 

-          “Porn” is short for “pornography”. True 

-          The payment was made 10 years ago. False – made in 2016. It is 2024 so about 8 years ago

-          Jurors are friends of the judge. False – a juror = member of a jury. = citizens

-          The judge has already given his sentence. False. His sentence = July 11

-          “To pay a fine” means to pay a sum of money. True

-          Community service is paid work. False = unpaid work – instead of going to jail…..

The Voice of Bankrupcy

-          “Popular” means “not known”. False = known

-          “A lobster” is a gangster of the sea. False = a large marine crustacean with pincers

-          “To file for bankruptcy” means “to pay debts to the bank”. False = can not pay their debts

-          “A dozen” = 10. False = 12

-          “A location” is a synonym of “a place”. True – to locate

-          “A decrease” is a synonym of “a rise”. False = reduction

-          “Endless” means “never-ending”. True “less” = without

-          “its” is the same as “it’s”. False its = possessive adjective - it’s = subject pronoun + verb to be

-          “To get back on its feet” means “to lose balance”. False = to recover from bad/difficult situation

-          “Closure” comes from the verb “to close”. True – road closures – to find closure = helps you move forward and on with your life.
