Show Notes

Shame grows in the darkness, in the spaces where we don’t allow ourselves to shine a light. Dr. Lee wants to begin shedding a little light and examine some of the top areas in which we, as humans, experience shame - with a four-part shame series!

And today, she is continuing the series with our third topic - body image.

The way that you relate to, connect with, and treat your body largely depends on your past learning. And if you’ve experienced past painful experiences around your size, shape, skin color, or anything else relating to your physical body - then you may have some shame around body image. Today, Dr. Lee is diving into where you might be shaming yourself around your body, where others might be contributing, and most importantly - how to start living in more connection with your body (aka your beautiful instrument).

She’s exploring:

  • Recognizing what our body image is often tied to and beginning to release any shame that comes up around it
  • How we can actually end up objectifying ourselves (hint: this is about self-protection)
  • Changing our physical appearance - is it a shame response?
  • Using our bodies for instrumentation vs. objectification
  • And more
