Show Notes

This week, Dr. Lee is diving deep into the fourth of the trauma response series: freeze response. This one is super important, ya’ll because this is where trauma gets stored in the body. Whether you have felt stuck in inaction in your business or you have felt a helpless in your life - you’ve most likely experienced the freeze response. So today, Dr. Lee is going over how freeze could be showing up for you, why this response actually starts to feel good (and how to feel even better by moving it through the body!), and ways to repattern the brain & body so it starts to feel safe releasing some of that stored up trauma.

She’s exploring:

  • A recap of the fight, flight & fawn responses (and how freeze is different from the fight, escape, or manipulate responses)
  • How trauma gets stored in the body as a results of the freeze response (and ways to move it through the body)
  • Tonic immobility vs. intentional immobility during this response
  • Why it can sometimes feel hard to get out of these freeze states
  • How the freeze response is tied to depression and anxiety
  • Learning how to gently get yourself out of this response
  • Why I use the 5-minute rule a lot around the freeze response
  • And more!
