Jason Priestley

Star, executive producer and director Jason Priestley talks about the fifth season of his shot-in-Toronto procedural, Private Eyes. It's a series that, no matter how many times it gets tossed around the Global schedule,  always manages to return to loyal audience of over a million viewers.
The light-hearted detective series, which co-stars Cindy Sampson and returned July 7, was the highest-rated Canadian returning series of the 2020/2021 season to date (A18-49 and A25-54). It is also imported to 186 territories.
So how come this is the fifth and final season?  And will viewers get a neat and tidy ending to the series, or did this ending come as a surprise to Priestley and others after Season Five was shot?
A durable star and director on both sides of the border, Priestley also weighs in on whether or not there will be another 90210 reunion. He also talks about his upcoming documentary, a profile of the late, unlamented Leafs boss, Harold Ballard.
Speaking of hockey, Priestley also talks about his most Canadian moment of all -- getting elbowed by Gordie Howe.
There's also a great story about Priestley's first directing assignment, at 23, on 90210 and the blunt words of advice he got from uber-producer Aaron Spelling on tackling that task.
