Episode 220: Saying No to Team Members
Show Notes

Hey there everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Female Empowered Podcast. Today, I am talking about a topic that’s near and dear to my heart, and most likely to yours, because it’s all about saying, “No.”

So many of us women business owners are people pleasers and high achievers that is why there are so many reasons why saying no makes us feel guilt. Let’s talk about where this feeling comes from, what happens if we don’t learn how to navigate that feeling, and what that feeling means.

Let’s say no together, not only to your team members, but also to clients, to opportunities, to things in your personal lives, to your children, to your spouse, to your parents, and more.

Give this episode a listen and I hope you find the information helpful!

Let’s get into:

  • Introduction to today’s topic
  • A book I read: When I Say No, I Feel Guilty
  • Why is it crucial for business owners to have and set boundaries
  • Benefits of learning to say no and setting boundaries
  • Reasons as to why you may be feeling guilty when saying no
  • When you should say yes to something: If it will take you closer to your goal
  • Ways that you can set up boundaries
  • Ways that you can hold the boundaries you’ve set
  • Ways that you can say “no” politely
  • What’s in it for you and your team when you learn to say “No”
  • What you want as a leader: Independent critical thinkers who can bring problems and solutions to you
  • What happens when you don’t hold your clients accountable/if you don’t learn to say “No” to them
  • Other ways that you can say “No”
  • Conclusion
