Takahiro Shiraishi is a Japanese Serial Killer who had also worked as a "Sex Scout" (human trafficking) in Japan until he was caught by police.
He is also known as the “Twitter Killer” because after he was caught for human trafficking, he turned to Social media to hunt for victims. Almost all his victims were young, suicidal women, that he met through the social media platform. Once he established contact with them, he then lured them to his apartment with the promise that he would either help them die or, in certain cases, promised that he would kill himself along side them so they would not be alone.
Police discovered the dismembered corpses of eight women and one man, aged 15 to 26, who had all been killed between August and October 2017, in containers he kept in his apartment.
He was sentenced to death after being found guilty and admitting to murdering and dismembering nine victims in 2017. He is currently awaiting execution.
