A Christmas For Arnold
It's time for a special Christmas episode of An Oscar For Arnold! This one is sort of a two-parter, with the boys starting off by discussing "Jingle All the Way," the 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger Christmas movie that sees him playing a workaholic father desperate to make his son happy by buying the most popular toy in the country on the day before Christmas while his horny neighbor tries to bang his wife.
After giving you a thorough analysis of that film, including its commentary on consumerism, Sonny and Tom break into a special bit of Christmas banter! Among the topics discussed is the quality of Christmas movies these days, the Grinch's race, the bones of St. Nicolas being found in Turkey, and why Turkey insists on being called Türkiye. And if you can't stand to suffer through our "Jingle All the Way" analysis, the banter starts about 30 minutes in. Consider that my Christmas gift to you.
But still the fellas find time for an opening segment, imagining Arnold in Jack Albertson's role in "The Subject Was Roses" (1968). The boys discover how deeply depressing that film is as it follows Martin Sheen witnessing the dissolution of his parents marriage after returning from World War II. That's what I call holiday fun!
