Kathy's Kids Storytime

The Special Letter

Ms. Becky Season 28 Episode 11

Send us a text

DeeDee rushes over when Mom opens a very important envelope. It is from the governor, inviting her to a special award dinner. While they wash dishes, Mom shares a story from long ago about neighbors who brought food when their pantry was empty. Their kindness led the family to church and closer to God. Years later, Mom helps run a soup kitchen and shelter, showing God’s love in action. The governor noticed, but the best reward is serving others. Kids will learn how simple kindness can change a life and point people to Jesus.

Talk about it:

  • Who helped DeeDee’s family when they had no food, and how did that make a difference?
  • How did kindness help DeeDee’s family learn more about God?
  • What is one way you can serve someone in your community this week?
  • Why do you think the governor wanted to honor Mom’s work?
