It is a day where many take a moment to reflect upon the past year and the new year to come. It’s also a moment where some think about light, it’s importance and symbolism in our personal and professional lives.

The late spiritual teacher, Frederick Lenz, who coined the term American Buddhism, once said of the Winter Solstice: “The Winter Solstice is the time of ending and beginning, a powerful time – a time to contemplate your immortality. A time to forgive, to be forgiven, and to make a fresh start. A time to awaken.”
