For more than 40 years, Assunta Ng has guided the Seattle Chinese Post and the Northwest Asian Weekly. As founder and publisher, Ng is relentless and fearless as a journalist and business owner. But after four decades, major change is underway for both publications, brought about by the pandemic, economics, social media, and time. The Seattle Chinese Post is ceasing publication, while the Northwest Asian Weekly will continue online only. Meantime , Ng is now looking for someone that she can groom to take over her media business. Assunta Ng joins the Chino Y Chicano for a look back on why and how she started the publications, their importance to the Seattle Chinatown International District, her passion for journalism and serving the Asian community.
