In John 3, we discover that the world is the object of God’s redeeming love: “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). For Christians, the world becomes the place of our earthly pilgrimage and the people with whom we share Christ in humility.
