hey everybody, this is c-dub with another woeful yo short and I'd like to talk to you about you might consider this a little bit more than milk level walking with the Lord. This is a concept that has helped me out and any time that I have kind of gotten, you know, bogged down or discouraged, confused, all of a sudden this concept comes back to me. And it's this because I'm reading the account of Moses and Aaron and Pharaoh and the idea of let my people go so that they may worship me in the wilderness. And one of the things is this concept is simply this you have to understand that God has a long-term view, he has a long-term plan and that that plan involves your immediate, or you could call it short-term obedience. So part of the trick in walking with the Lord I know trick is not a word that we use, but really, if you can get the concept of immediate obedience or you could call it short-term obedience and long-term planning, long-term sight if you will being able to know that God has something down the line and I'm not going to immediately see the results, but to get to that long-term, I have to be obedient right now if I'm going to get there Now. God's long term. Sometimes there's contingency plans. He's going to get you there, whether you like it or not. Ask the Israelites who ended up having to wander 40 years in the wilderness rather than what probably would have been 40 days just because of the attitude, but got to get you there. But if you will keep this in mind, I can't tell you how many times I got bogged down because I knew what the Lord wanted to do long-term and I had no clue as to what. And the testing was the sometimes little urgings from the Holy Spirit. I had no idea how critical those things were to getting me there long term.
Speaker 1:Also, you can get discouraged if you're immediately focused on the right, here and now. And okay, lord, I'm being obedient. Okay, I'm being obedient. Hey, go do this. Yes, lord. Hey, go do that. Yes, lord, I'm being obedient. Okay, I'm being obedient. Hey, go do this. Yes, lord. Hey, go do that. Yes, lord, say this to somebody. I want you to read this passage of scripture. It's all those little things. Or, hey, I want you to stay home and have fellowship with me rather than go out to the men's group or whatever.
Speaker 1:And not everybody understands that, and that's not all the time, but there are times where it's things like that and you're so focused on being obedient in the right here and now. It can wear you down after a while If you don't have the long-term as a promise, and I've I've said this several times before because both of those have hooked me up in the past and without a prayerful attitude it could hook me up right now. So, how God gets you there, don't try and figure out the how, but just just know the destination and what he's called you to do. Try and avoid any preconceived notions of how you think that's supposed to look. And also about the time, as Bones has said several times regarding land nav, about the time you think you're supposed to get there is probably the most prime time to make your mistakes and get hooked up. And all that because they there's this thing you think you should be there. You think you should be there. You think you should be there. Did I miss it?
Speaker 1:And it's all these other questions start factoring in, and then you find out if you will just stay true then what God has ordained you to do in the long term and what his plan is for the long term, and all those little steps, by the way you're going to find out that if you will just stay faithful and keep that in mind, the walk has a lot more meaning. It will have a lot more purpose. So get in the word for yourself. Ask God what's his plan for you and what do you need to be doing now, and always be willing to be obedient in the immediate as well as mindful of the long term Wofo yo Everybody thanks for listening as well as mindful of the long-term.
