WOFOYO SHORT: Holy Spirit's GPS: "This is the way, walk in it"
Do you ever feel exhausted by Christianity's endless requirements? That nagging sense that true faith should be simpler, more authentic? You're not alone.
This powerful exploration of Isaiah 30 reveals God's original design—a faith built on relationship, not religious performance. The scripture promises we'll "see our Teacher" and hear a voice saying, "This is the way, walk in it." But somewhere along the way, we've complicated this beautiful simplicity with endless qualifications, titles, and protocols.
Christianity today has become "overdefined and underapplied." We establish elaborate requirements for spiritual offices while our actual relationship with God suffers. We create "if-then" conditions Jesus never imposed, focusing more on defending our methods than on simple obedience. This episode examines fascinating biblical parallels—Moses wishing all God's people were prophets, and Jesus rebuking disciples who tried stopping others from ministry because they weren't part of the "in-group."
The most profound truth emerges: authentic spiritual authority doesn't come from dramatic declarations or fancy titles. It flows from "sincerity, a contrite heart, honesty and integrity with God." When we focus simply on obeying the Holy Spirit, ministry happens naturally—sometimes through casual conversation, sometimes even through humor. No "Thus saith the Lord" required.
Ready to shed unnecessary religious complexity? To experience the freedom of faith as God designed it? This episode offers a refreshing path forward: "Stop over-defining, start applying." Develop your direct relationship with Christ, follow His voice, and watch how naturally ministry flows from authentic connection. Your spiritual life—and those you interact with—will never be the same.

Hey everybody, welcome to another Wofo, yo Short. I'm C-Dub and I wanted to read a little bit out of Isaiah. We'll go, chapter 30. In context, start at verse 18. You're going to be going down to 22.
Speaker 1:Therefore, the Lord waits to be gracious to you and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are those who wait for him, for a people shall dwell in Zion in Jerusalem. You shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction. Yet your teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your teacher and your ears shall hear a word behind you saying this is the way, walk in it. When you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them be gone. So he's talking about in here that there's a time coming when you're going to have a very personal relationship with the Lord, and John even references this. You have no need that any man should teach you if you have an unction from the Holy One. So there's this idea of being taught directly by the Lord. We're talking about what is manifested when it says I shall see your teacher. He's talking about Jesus Christ here. He's talking about that voice of the Holy Spirit saying this is the way. Walk in it and just happened to see some people and I just shake my head about.
Speaker 1:These are the requirements of the office of a prophet. These, if you're not doing this, you're really not. All these requirements, all these things, and it reminds me why in some circles, christianity not truly Christianity, but the church performance is the circus that it is Because we're worried about all these qualifications. I remember saying one time in an episode and it has stuck with me because it came out of my mouth and I go oh, that's a good way to say it All too often in the church world our Christianity is overdefined and underapplied. We want to establish all these rules, for if you're going to be this, then you have to do this. It's the if then, if then, if then, if then and if you're going to be in this office, then you need to be doing this and this and this and this, and not that there aren't some requirements, but the requirements that Jesus established. A lot of times are more streamlined, and God loves to use outliers Outliers we mentioned not too long ago about Moses Lays hands on the 70 elders. You have two people prophesying outside the camp and they want to stop him. Moses is going. I wish all God's people were prophets. And also, let me tell you about the time that you really start to focus on I'm a this and I'm a that and all the requirements of your office. The problem is that if you're not careful, your relationship with the Lord is what takes the hit. That's the issue. That's the issue. So, rather than focus on relationship, now we're focusing on oh man, I am this. I need to do step A, step B, step C, step D.
Speaker 1:I was reading over in the Gospel of Luke has been my reading this month and just kind of digest and see what pops out. Just read through it After Jesus has already sent out the 12, I believe that's Luke 7. In Luke 9, there's a similar account of what happened with Moses and the disciples the 12 go. We saw someone casting out demons in your name and we forbade them. Jesus goes, don't forbid him. He is not against us, he's with us. So don't forbid him. And here's the interesting thing Right before that, they come down from the mountain of transfiguration Now, granted, luke has long chapters, so ain't no telling how much time has passed but they've come down from the mountain of transfiguration that, granted, this luke has long chapters, so ain't no telling how much time has passed. But they've come down from the mountain of transfiguration, seeing this holy vision. And yet here are the disciples that weren't with them and they're disputing because they tried to cast this demon out of this young man and his dad's coming to Jesus. And Jesus goes oh you faithless and perverse generation, how much longer will I tarry with you? And he cast it out. Now, in one of the Gospels it kind of does come out, but by prayer and fasting. But the fact remains that the dad brings the son to the disciples and the disciples the 12, or the nine that were not with Jesus on the mount could not cast this demon out. So, not too long after that, they see somebody that is praying doing it, and then they get offended because we want to defend our method, we want to defend our theology rather than just go and be obedient and let the chips fall where they may. I'd also like to point out that by the time you get I believe it's Luke 10, that he is sending out 70. And then the 70 come back. They say Lord, even the demons are subject to your name. So the 70 are good.
Speaker 1:Sometimes you can get so involved in your own little clique that all of a sudden you stop bearing the fruit that you were initially man. It is so easy to do, don't get me wrong, it is so easy to do. I know because I've been there, done that. But the key is, if you will focus on relationship, the Lord is going to cause you to do what you're supposed to be doing. Matter of fact, that's what this is talking about. You're going to see your teacher. He's going to teach you. You're going to hear this is the way Walk in, teach you. You're going to hear this is the way walk in. And when you turn to the right or turn to the left, you're going to instinctively know by the Holy Spirit after you do it long enough. There's going to be this leading and you know us. It might not be the audible voice, but you're going to know it's the Holy Spirit and you're just going to instinctively walk in it, because you get used to obeying the Holy Spirit and you just show up and you don't know why, and don't take too long and the Lord shows you why.
Speaker 1:That's kind of where I'm at right now. You know there's a lot every now and then the Lord's going to speak something. I mean praise God for all these people that the Lord gives a word to, and the Lord has shown me that this is happening in the next two weeks. Now, granted, it's about a three-minute message with about 25 minutes worth of filler. Not my ministry, not the way I would do it. If the Lord puts something on your heart, say it, and let's also not pretend that it might need to be a certain amount of time for YouTube to monetize it. That being said, I don't get words all the time. I know what the Lord wants me to do generally and if I'm obedient in that man, it works out so well and people just go.
Speaker 1:You don't realize how profound you are. You have no idea. You have all these people that want to be really profound in all this and I'm an apostle, I'm a prophet, I'm a this, I'm a that, and first thing I always want to ask is okay, how much are you charging? You know, do you get to charge more? Do you get to be on the flyer, do you get to be on the poster advertising for this conference that they're going to charge $25, $50, whatever they are For people you can go in here and speak all the time. How much are you charging for that?
Speaker 1:The other thing is, I can tell you personally, as the Lord has kind of steered me in this path of obedience, all the people in the offices I declare as a prophet, I want to dramatic, I want to tout all the authority that they have and, believe me, I'm a firm believer in prayer. I'm a firm believer in making holy declarations and speaking things that the Lord has called you to speak, making holy decrees, absolutely. That being said, you don't get points for drama, you don't get points for flair. You get points for sincerity, for a contrite heart, for honesty and integrity with God. That's what carries the weight. I can't tell you how many times I have Again.
Speaker 1:You just follow the voice of the Holy Spirit and I end up talking to somebody and I don't have to say Thus saith the Lord, or I have a word for you, my brother or my sister, and all this. But and you just bring man, I just bring some stuff up that the Holy Spirit put on my heart and the next thing, you know, you got people crying. You got grown men crying, you got women boohooing and they're like how in the world did you know that? And what's really weird is, with me in particular, if I start joking, the next thing you know it's reading their mail. I don't even know how that works, it's just something that God does. And all of a sudden they'll go from laughing until their face will get wild, like how did you know that? I'm like what are you talking about? Know what?
Speaker 1:And it's that obedience, whether you're being serious, whether you're being empathetic, whether you're being compassionate empathetic, whether you're being compassionate or whether you're joking. That is the. You can just trust that the Lord is going to speak through you if you're being obedient, and you can let all the other chips fall where they may. So stop being so over-worried about the requirements of this and the requirements of that. In this office and that office, we will function a lot better as the body of Christ, when we simply learn what the Lord wants us to do and learn how to develop that relationship not just learn to do it, but actually develop that relationship and then we can minister to each other just out of a pure and simple love for the Lord and the love for one another. And then you will see a lot of the ego start to go and we will truly be able to accomplish some things together, as the Lord intended.
