WOFOYO SHORT: Stewarding Hungry Hearts With Kingdom Purpose
Hearts are open and the stakes are high. We’re seeing people lean in to the message of Jesus, and the question staring us down is simple: will we steward this moment or squander it with church as usual? We talk candidly about God’s timing, why bitterness can make us miss it, and how the Holy Spirit actually moves—convicting of sin, righteousness, and judgment, not to shame but to set people free.
We explore the difference between building church culture and forming kingdom people. One chases comfortable patterns; the other sends believers into tough arenas—academia, media, and government—armed with truth and compassion. Think sequoia seeds: tiny, countless, and released by fire. Pain and pressure don’t have to break us; they can open us so new life can take root. That’s the path to real impact, where the Gospel becomes leaven that permeates a whole community, not just a Sunday School room.
We also draw a clear line between conviction and condemnation. If you’ve ever been told “you’re just judgmental,” you’ll hear why conviction stings but heals, and how judgment, rightly received, brings liberty. Anchored in John 16, we share practical ways to align with the Spirit: get in the Word for yourself, guard your heart from cynicism, release people into their calling, and measure fruit by effectiveness and Scripture. When the Spirit is on someone, you can tell—they move things, not because of style, but because of anointing.

Hey everybody, welcome to another WoFoyo short. This is C Dub. One of the things I love about the Holy Spirit, and one of the things I love as much as I talk about kingdom, and kingdom is important, kingdom is vital, is that the Holy Spirit uses people. In my last short, I issued a warning, and it's it isn't the first time I've issued this, but something that the Lord's been putting really heavy on the heart. It was about don't squander what God has done in bringing the amount of people into the body of Christ, the amount of people that are hearing the gospel or hopefully hearing the gospel, that are open to hearing the gospel, definitely, that we should be very sober and aware and obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit and obedient to Scripture in how we handle those that are seeking, that are hurting, that are open to Christ. We need to be good stewards of what God has blessed us with. And I still maintain that if we're preaching church as usual, like we did when 9-11 happened and got patriotic rather than repentant, then we're missing the mark. However, somebody that I've interviewed before has now become a friend, somebody whose counsel that I trust implicitly, and it's because of what the Holy Spirit does. I am always grateful for words, even if they're corrective. And you know what? Uh, there's a guy out of uh Brandon, Mississippi. His name is uh Dan Blackshirt, and he's on staff. Him and the head pastor David are phenomenal people. There's some phenomenal people in that body, and there's some very kingdom-minded people in that body. It's a Hope Fellowship Church down in Brandon, Mississippi. That's a suburb of Jackson. And I am thankful because he said something that the Lord had shared with him. The timing is a that time is an illusion, but God's timing is critical. I might be butchering that. Sorry, Dan. But that was the gist of it. It's important that you don't miss God's timing. And he he was also talking about, uh, you can find that on YouTube, might post a link. He was talking about be careful of not being bitter and having the wrong attitude specifically so that you miss so that you miss what God is doing. And mayonna, because I realize, and some of the things the Lord's been putting on my heart, there's been a little bit of angst in it. Because I'm passionate about it. And I stand by what I said, but that doesn't mean that sometimes I can't be slightly out of focus and maybe having presented an incomplete version. So, yes, I think there is a warning to the body of Christ not to be bad stewards of what God has entrusted us with, with these people that are hungry. And I mentioned that if we're doing church as usual, then we're missing the mark because that's not producing it, it it hasn't produced results, it hasn't produced results in a long time. Um when we do church as usual, we have revivals that we squander. Uh we have revivals that are ineffective. Now, you take what was going on with Charlie Kirk, and he was a kingdom guy. Yeah, went to church, but he was a kingdom guy. He was bringing the kingdom of Jesus Christ into areas, specifically academia. He was also in media, and he was also heavily involved in government. Areas that can be really dark. He was a kingdom guy. Guess what? A seed fell to the ground. Seeds produce like things. So what God is trying to grow with this is kingdom people, not church's usual people. I know I'm reiterating, but to have a more positive tone, let me be encouraging. So let me tell you what what you get if you get it right. I want to encourage you because seeds produce like seeds. It was talking about being over in Yosemite earlier and the Mariposa Grove and the Tulumna Grove for the giant sequoias. Huge, huge cones. 90,000 seeds to make a pound. That's how light they are. It takes fire to get them to take root and get those cones to open up. But I want you to think about this. If we steward what God has entrusted us with here in this day and age, and we do it properly, you're going to have kingdom people that are impacting the areas that the Holy Spirit has called them to be in and has called them to. You're going to have kingdom people impacting those areas with the kingdom of God. And that's what we're looking for. That is what we're looking. We're looking for the gospel to make an impact. The kingdom of God is like leaven, which a lady kneaded into a meal, and it finally affected the whole loaf, the whole lump of dough. It permeates, it expands, it affects things, it changes them. The leaven of sin will too. But where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. So if we can go, oh leaven can be sin. How much more can it be God's grace and God's kingdom? Let's get in the word for ourselves. John chapter 16, verse 5. But now I'm going to him who sent me. And none of you ask me, where are you going? But because I've said these things to you, grief has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am leaving, for if I do not leave, the helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And he, when he comes, will convict the world regarding sin and righteousness and judgment, regarding sin because they do not believe in me. And regarding righteousness because I am going to the Father, and you are no longer going to see me. And regarding judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them at this present time. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak of his own, but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify me, for he will take from mine and disclose it to you. All the things that the Father has are mine, and this is why I said, He takes from mine and will disclose it to you. When you, as a kingdom believer in Jesus Christ, as a disciple, one who is willing to endure discipline by the word of God, by the Holy Spirit, for the sake of your King, Jesus Christ, if you're willing to endure discipline and training and correction and exhortation to do it right, if you're willing to endure those things, the spirit on you is going to produce the same conviction that he's talking about in here. One of the reasons Charlie Kirk was so hated, and one of the reasons that there are people that are so hated in this world that go out isn't because they preach church. The spirit, and if you really want to know, just look how much flack they're catching. And a lot of times it's going to be in the area that they're anointed in. When he comes, he will convict the world regarding sin and righteousness and judgment regarding sin because they do not believe in me. You mentioned what he was doing over a turning point, or you mentioned going into hostile territory with a kingdom message, and you saw people losing their minds, or you see people just ever since 2016 losing their freaking minds after a presidential election that they thought they had one, and illogically, and not a Republican or Democrat thing, people losing their minds on both sides, establishment people losing their minds. Why? Because that presidential candidate was perfect, far from it. But he was not an established guy, he was not a compromised guy. And sometimes them thieves are in for, you know, in for a penny, in for a pound. But it was more than just people being scared. There were spiritual manifestations when people began speaking truth. Truth by the Spirit. In other words, they're anointed to do what God has called them to do. They won't be doing it like Mother Mabel taught you how to do it in Sunday school. That ain't the way it happens. We just got through covering the mighty men. That ain't the way anointed people work. It isn't. Look what great of an edifice we built. When anointed people do things, the way you're able to tell that they're anointed is they're effective. Not all of them know God the way they should, but God is using them nonetheless. Now, how much better if you're a kingdom person and you know Jesus Christ and you're being led by his spirit? But that spirit, the Holy Spirit that is on you as a kingdom person brings conviction. And that is the main thing regarding sin because they do not believe in Jesus. Regarding righteousness, because I'm going to the Father and you're going to see me. As soon as Charlie Kirk's assassinated, lines, lines to go to church by people that don't like to go to church, never considered it before. There was something that kicked off that convicted the world not only of sin, like what was happening when he was speaking, but because of what happened, it convicted them of righteousness. That even when they disagreed, unless you were dealing with a bunch of reprobates, of which I've had to talk to, unless you were dealing with a bunch of retrobates, they go, I didn't agree with this guy, but he didn't deserve that. You're judging me. That's the biggest complaint. You're so judgmental. Don't mistake conviction with judgment. Two different things. Neither one of them feels necessarily good. But you got to understand one thing I learned from Rick Joyner, uh, book the final quest, changed my whole entire outlook on judgment. It caused me to go, well, this is going to suck, but I need to embrace this because it's going to help me grow. Judgment brings liberty. You are no longer trying to hide that secret sin that you were trying to cover up. With judgment comes liberty. So be kingdom-minded. I'm telling you all, if you get this, we talked about the warning. If you get it wrong, there's judgment. But if you get it right, the world changes. And it changes in a positive way for the kingdom.
