Jesus Shows Us When To Withdraw And Pray
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
August can feel like a slow grind, even when life is good. I’m C Dub, and while you’re hearing this, I’m out hiking in Glacier National Park, soaking in some of the most beautiful scenery in Montana and doing something my soul needs just as much as my body: getting quiet. Not the kind of quiet where you avoid people, but the kind where you finally have space to hear God again, recover your focus, and come back steady. If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, this short is a reminder that rest can be a spiritual discipline, not a guilty pleasure.
We pull a clear pattern straight from the Gospels: Jesus withdrew. He stepped away in sorrow, he stepped away to process, and he stepped away to pray, sometimes all night. That changes how I think about solitude with God, Christian prayer, and even a simple weekend retreat. Time alone with the Father is not quitting, it’s getting reset for whatever mission is coming next.
We also get practical about boundaries. The more demands people place on you, the more you have to discern what God actually asked you to do. When you’re anointed, people are drawn to it, and not every request is yours to carry. We talk about being good for your word, telling the truth when you can’t commit, and bringing a Bible plus a pen and pad so you can write down what you’re hearing and check it against Scripture.

Welcome And The Glacier Trip
SPEAKER_00Hey everybody, welcome to another Woefo Yo short. This is C Dub. At the time of this recording, I will be hiking or warm myself out from hiking over in Glacier National Park over in Montana.
Hiking Limits And Timing Matter
SPEAKER_00And let me tell you, looks beautiful. I'll be able to give a report when I come back because I always do. I found out after hiking over in Grand Tetons that there are some places that are beautiful, have great hikes. You know, there's some perks, but to really get the full experience, you got to hit them after the snow has melted or you're just not going as high. And I I like to hike. I'm not trying to do alpine stuff. I'm not trying to do uh snow-related stuff necessarily, especially when the snow packs at the same angle of the mountain. Yeah, I'm good. Uh I like to go out on an adventure, but I also know a little bit of my limits.
Why We Need A Break
SPEAKER_00That being said, uh taking vacations in August, you more than feel like you're ready for a break. And I can tell you this, I have probably been more ready for this trip, not just because it's a beautiful trip and I have these goals and everything else. I have been more, I've been more ready just to get away. And why are you bringing this up, C Doug? This is getting
Jesus Withdrew For Prayer
SPEAKER_00the word for yourself. Well, if you get in the word, you're going to find out that even our Lord and Savior, perfect as he was and is. There's times he withdrew. And there's times he withdrew due to sorrow. There's times that he withdrew just to process things, such as when he heard about the death of John the Baptist. But he also withdrew to pray. He go out there and pray all night. If you get in the gospels, there's times he would find some remote place and pray and talk to his heavenly father. And what I'm looking to do on this trip is to go out, not necessarily interact with too many people, although I always get along with people.
Solitude In Creation Resets Mission
SPEAKER_00For the most part. That being said, this is about space, this is about solitude, this is about getting along with the Lord, and this is also about coming back recharged. I don't know what it is about that period of it is only a month or two longer. But man, it seems like it can wear you thin. So while you're listening to this short, just know I'm finishing up some goals. Uh getting trained up for this is banged up the old body, it banged up the knees just a little bit, be all right. But but think about how being alone with the creator in his creation can recharge you and get you ready for the mission ahead. You know, every time Jesus went, he wanted to get by himself, there was always a mission coming up. Always. You go over and sail out. And the whole episode of Jesus walking on the water, he's catching up to his boys, size he's going to do it by walking on the water. There's a mission there, there's a purpose, but you gotta get reset, you gotta get alone every now and
Handling Demands On Your Anointing
SPEAKER_00then. So I will have my word with me. I will also have a pen and pad with me, and I just want to encourage you all this weekend, you know, more and more people place demands on you. And here's just one of those truths in life. When you are anointed, people are drawn to that. And if the Lord tells you to, you know, you're gonna run into situations where they're gonna try and make a demand and put you in certain positions, have you help out, have, have you volunteer, you know, they're they're gonna try and place a demand on that anointing. And if the Lord says do it, then you have a responsibility to do it. And then there's other things that you need to be careful about. If the Lord didn't say do it, you might want to weigh whether you will or whether you won't. The key thing is there, just be good for your word. If you say you're gonna do it, do it. And if you can't, then fess up and say that you can't. So I wanted to encourage you all to imitate our Lord and keep me in your prayers, keep bones in your prayers, because life still happens.
Find A Private Place With God
SPEAKER_00And we want to encourage you to go out, find someplace private. Just talk to the Lord, write down what he's saying to you. By all means, check it against the word. By all means, mull it over, pray it over, declare it, uh, check it against the Bible, and ask the Lord what he wants you to do. Go out there, and it might not be this weekend, but go out there, get along with the Lord, and get recharged. Woe fo. Jigs Diedeker. Well done, good and faithful servant.
