He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law focusing on intellectual property, an MBA from Temple University, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, and is currently finishing a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering at Dartmouth College with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Kirk has published academic work on patent protection for artificial intelligence and copyright registration of AI-generated works, and he's brought those ideas to stages across the globe presenting on AI and IP at conferences in London, Bangkok, Palo Alto, and China, and at universities including Purdue.
He's been named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America 2026 and recognized as a Managing IP Rising Star for multiple years running.
And just so you know the kind of person you're dealing with outside of the law, Kirk is a championship-level competitive ballroom dancer, a black belt in Shaolin Kempo, a certified yoga teacher, a rescue diver, a certified professional cook, and a member of the "1250 Club" meaning his squat, deadlift, and bench press combined top 1,250 lbs.
