Speaker 1 (0s): Hey there, blue bows in both eyes. I just have a few minutes. I wrote up a couple of bullet 'cause I had a few things on my mind. They are not connected at all. It was like totally random. So don't judge me for those of you who are new to my channel on a Black Opinionated Woman. Also known as about, okay, so look, I just wanna say this about planning. At middle age, I literally hate planning things for friends to get together.
I can't take it because like no one can make a decision. And I usually, I had said I was gonna tap out, I'm not planning anymore. But I guess my A type personality, I'm not always a type, but my A type kicks in. I'm like, all right, so what about blah blah, blah. And I checked into three places and of course it just the timing and everything was booked and whatever. And I'm like, well look, somebody can offer up something else. So then I think there was some offering for something thousand. I don't know, I guess I was caught up because I didn, I wasn't responding all my messages. But no one makes decisions.
We said, what are we doing? And it's kind of like, it's like everybody's waiting for somebody to make a decision. And I feel like I get tired of having to always make the decision. I make decisions all the time. So then it's like after all of that, I'm like, you know what I, I, I talked to one person offline. I said, let's just book here and you're done with it. So she suggested it. But I'm just kind of like, why is it that like people just can't make a decision. Like you make a decision, it's maybe that hard. I get so tired of having to be the one that comes with the idea.
Does this, does that? I'm like, it just gets old. And I'm just kind of like, chicks, y'all need to make a decision. And this is why For the longest time I was like, I wasn't suggesting anything great people. But I'm like, I don't understand why people cannot make a decision when you offer, Hey, let's do this. Or somebody else plan it. Say, Hey, I'm gonna book here. We're gonna do this. It's so annoying, so annoying. And I don't understand why people are waiting on me to like define the answer or something. I'm like, Lord Jesus.
All right. Enough of that. I just wanna go onto the whole greedy Beyonce thing for a second because she has this new tour that's coming out, which I don't understand why she would do another tour so close together because I feel like she just stays policing her fans. Like I've never seen the bigger grip in my life between these expensive tours. Now she's got the hair care. Then she's got, I saw on TikTok, she has her hair tools and stuff. Like if they were reasonably priced, I would've actually bought it.
I was like, screw that. I have enough pair of stuff. Anyway, but I like the little set. It was cute. It was something that like you can give us like a gift or something, but I'm like a hundred dollars for some Combes brushes. No thanks. So between that and her on and off again, wanted to do like perfume that flops, or not flop, I don't know, ENC clothes, I can't keep up. I'm like, Beyonce, please stop. I'm like, she charges outrageous amount for her, her for everything. Whether it's her concerts, whether it's the cones.
Like I said, she has cones that are like, like a little cone package or something. It's like, I don't know, it's very costly. Everything is costly. And I'm like, I keep telling these people she does not care about you. She just wants your coin. She don't care about these fans. She's like, I'm gonna put a high markup on it because it has my name on it and you're gonna buy it. And these pools go out there and pay everything. They will not pay their rent in order to go see her put on a leotard and shake her behind to some ridiculous songs. That's what they'll do.
And I'm like, she'll paint her kid out. I mean, who Ivy? I'm like, I just feel, I kind of feel bad for a lot of people be like, no, she's the mother, she's the child of fiance. I'm like, this girl's not getting a normal childhood. I don't know how much of a normal childhood you can have anyway if you're a child of, of a megastar. Right? I, but I kind of feel bad like, you know, like what is there for her to conquer? She's conquered everything. Gotten like Academy Awards or whatever, some sort of, some sort of award. I don't know a Grammy or Oscar, Tony e got like e got like a Emmy or Emmy, I don't know.
I don't know what the heck she has, but she's got some sort of award. You know, if she's done everything already and she, she's like 12, 13 years old, what is there left for her to accomplish? Not that I'm saying hold her back, but whatever happens to 12 and 13 year olds doing normal 12 and 13-year-old things. Like I can appreciate those stars that pull their children far away from Hollywood. Like I remember when Julia Robertson, she like moved to like New Mexico or some place like in a desert or something. I'm not saying I would go to the desert, but I'm just kind of like, why would you pluck your kid in that environment?
I know she's seen all kinds of things. I would not want my kids being street smarts on Hollywood and the, the industry. No, not, not at that age anyway. But anyway, I just kind of feel like she's always in some sort of money grab the strand. The fan base is is like, I don't know, they're just psycho. Like they, they anything without them losing their mind. And I just feel like you just came off of a mega tour not too long ago and now you're trying to have another tour now.
I don't even know all the music that was on her first tour. 'cause I didn didn't purchase anything off her album or anything like that. I, I don't know, I kind of like a, I'm stuck in a time warp anyway with the music I listen to. And now she's on this new one, cowboy Carter and I don't know like that whole, like, this ain't Texas, it's catchy, but I couldn't tell you too much more about the lyrics. Maybe one other lines, but it's just not something that was appealing to me. And I'm not gonna knock it, but I kind of felt like she needed to let that breathe a little bit.
Let these people breathe. I don't know, I just feel like we're just getting saturated with Beyonce and I'm like over, I'm over it, but I wanna talk about, I wanna move on. I just wanna talk about this real quick. Like, and I know people are gonna judge me, but like I, I'm feast or famine. I don't typically spend a lot of time in salons, but I decided to start going more often because for really for my own luxury, right? I take myself and I take my daughter to get our hair wash conditions and get a blow dryer or whatever and then move on.
But I haven't been going to a regular black salon. I've been going to a Dominican black salon because there are efficient, my, I feel like the customer service there, I'm only speaking for my experience. 'cause I've been to Mont before. I have a good experience when I go there, I have a good experience. They, they have been always like very polite. They're efficient, they're like a machine. They're convenience. I find that their pricing isn't ridiculous and you know what to expect.
So they're way more reasonable I feel like, because culturally, when you're usually in the, the salons, they typically speak a lot of Spanish even though I understand some of it. But I'm not fluent so they speak Spanish. So I don't have to worry about engaging in conversation. I'm literally there just to, to have my hair taken care of. I'm gonna go get my hair done today. I might even have them cut some off. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet, but I can go in there, I can get what I need to get and I can just move on.
You know what I mean? And my hair lasts and a lot of people will be like, oh, you're probably gonna burn your hair out. But no, 'cause I don't even hardly ever use my curling irons at all during, like, I go every two weeks and my hair feels really soft still. It feels really good. I could still feel, I put product in my hair usually about three or four days in and then maybe once more. But like my hair isn't doing a whole lot of bra. I don't know, maybe it will in the future. I don't know. And then when the summertime comes, I might put some braid in for a while.
I don't know. It depends on how it, how it holds up, how long it holds up in humidity. But I think the biggest thing is for me is like, they're very professional. I go in, they're very nice. I I, I just pay for my hair. I don't have to get charged out the nose, which allows me to come back more frequently. And plus I bring my daughter and you know, I don't have to deal with that. And I just kind of felt like when I've gone to salons in the past, you know, like I'd have to be like, no, I don't wanna sit under this dryer all day.
No, you're not gonna have me sitting over here. I remember I would wash them like years ago. People would try to like re what somebody's hair so they would stay under their lawn. But I'm like, no. I'm like, if I come in, this is when I come in like this is my time. 'cause my time is important. Like your time is important. I don't have to worry about the gossip 'cause you know what I mean? Like, and at the old months of people gossiping all the time, I'm not trying to be involved. I just wanna get in and out. I mean, you know what I mean? Like I, that's just where I'm at with it. When I go to the Dominican hair salons now, I know this is stereotyping.
I feel like they're just more about like, it's like a machine. It's a well oiled machine. You come in, get your wash, you get your condition or whatever, they take care of it. They move you right along. Like it's an assembly line. They get in, they start to know how your hair is and they'll say things like if they, if you need a trim, they'll tell you whatever. I think last time they just went and just trimmed mine down a little bit because there was some area that was longer than the others. I didn't care. My hair feels good. I mean I obviously I need to get it washed. As you can see, there's not a lot of product though. I'm like, knock my eyeglasses off.
But you know, I'm gonna get my hair done and it's gonna feel good. They're gonna do what they need to do and I'm gonna keep it moving. I don't need any drama. They're very nice. I didn't have to like, oh gosh. So anyway, so I know people are probably gonna look at me sideways like, I can't believe you're not supporting black watch business. But I'm like, I can't, it's too much. Like I just, I just wanna do what I need to do and that's it. I got things I need to do today. So I'm gonna go get my hair done. I'm gonna pick my daughter up from school.
She'll get out a few minutes early 'cause I never pick her up early. But I'm gonna take her today and we are gonna go get our hair done 'cause we got some other things going on tonight. And I'm gonna let someone put their hands in my, on my scalp and clean my hair and let somebody else take care of my hair. And it's going to be amazing. I am here for it. I don't know. Let me know your thoughts. I mean, do any of you go to a Dominican hair salon? I mean, what do you think about it? I, I enjoy my time there.
It's very efficient. All right. Don't judge me. Thank you for coming to my channel. Come back again. I.
