Speaker 1:

Here we are, rowan Oak, home of William Faulkner here at the University of Mississippi, and looking at all the wonderful trees here, especially the oaks, but also the magnolias and the elm trees, the oaks, but also the magnolias and the elm trees. The oak does give a sense of peace and that's what we seek in recovery. We seek peace, peace of heart, peace of mind and just being able to live in peace and obviously be free of all the past or the future and just be in the presence. Trees allow us to be in this different state. When you're in nature, that serenity, the calmness, the elevation of serotonin, natural serotonin builds up your mood hormone and just allows you to be free, allows you to just engage. So I welcome each and every person to seek out a place and travel, because usually you don't have all these places. Wherever you live, you have to go to different places.

Speaker 1:

This is now the third live that we have done, and this one doesn't depict humans.

Speaker 1:

We are just going to be amongst nature and that is the.

Speaker 1:

It's the beauty of being amongst beautiful trees or if you're around flowers or oceans and rivers and there's just nothing like green grass, blue water, blue sky and just seeing how majestic the world and nature can be and really puts us at a place that there is a higher power, that there is God, that there is spirituality, because you can also see growth in the way nature can rebuild and keep growing better after new generations as DNA gets implanted. So I encourage each and every one do the work in recovery so then you can live a life of your choosing, where you are in peace, where you are in serenity, and you can journal, you can pray, you can meditate, you can get one with your body. That is recovery, having that oneness in the ability in different areas, in different facets, because we want to keep growing each and every day. Live as long as you can and like we say health is wealth, we say health is wonderful. So with that we're going to conclude this episode of the 1% in recovery podcast.
