Episode 1: Freebirth

In this episode, Mother of two Tizzy Allison discusses her experience of deciding to Freebirth her daughter Bethany who was an unassisted delivery at home during the Corona Virus lockdown in April 2020.

Freebirth,  (also known as unassisted birth) is when no midwife or other medical professional attends the birth. Freebirth isn't really discussed during midwifery training but it is legal in the UK and there is anecdotal evidence that the number of people choosing a Freebirth has increased during the coronavirus pandemic due to restrictions on home birth services. 

Pushing Through,  is a podcast for Student Midwives. It  is a collection of interviews with people who have either experienced or are involved in maternity care and a space to discuss the issues that there maybe isn't the chance to chat about in the classroom.
