Hello, hello and welcome back to a pinch of honesty. I am a bit tardy this week in my podcasting and that is due to family stuff. My kiddo needed knee surgery and so I put my focus elsewhere. The letter for this week, by the way, it's the third week of the year is J.

In case you're wondering, the most popular word in English language with a J is just. ah Justice, just in time, ah just a pinch of. And if we are to look at the 1,227 quite interesting facts, and I look up J, a jack straw,

is a 16th century word for a person of no substance or worth. When you contemplate this, since I had chat GPT go through to randomly select letters for certain weeks, this week we inaugurated a new president whose middle name starts with a J. And I have not actually looked up to see what the J stands for.

Um, from my looking up J's in general, right? Um, the most popular name with a J is John. So my guess is John. However, um, we joke J.

What could Jay's also mean? Joker, um Jackass, Jackwad. There's lots of crude Jay names out there as well. I'm not sure. I'm not sure what his actual Jay name is. If you're wondering famous books that start with a Jay, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte,

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton and James and the Giant Peach by Ronald Dahl. I'm going to admit something here. I have never read Jane Eyre. I own it. I have never read it. I think this is going on the to be read list for this year. And as a matter of fact, as I work through um my list of letters, I might start pulling books up closer to the front that are kind of more classic historical books that meet the letters of the week.

Totally interesting to me if you are interested in what is the most ah famous yoga pose that starts with a J. It is Janar Shoshashana. And Janar Shoshashana is head-to-knee pose. um But that is a classic, an absolute classic yoga pose. um Now, if you start talking about songs that have J's, jailhouse rock,

jump joy to the world, right some classics, super classics. Now I'm going to get into why the letter J is so interesting to me. And of course, I knew none of this until I actually started looking at the letter. J is one of the newest letters in our alphabet. First of all, I didn't realize that I guess I should have, that all letters were not created at the exact same time. But J is one of the newest. um And it used to be that J and I were together as a single entity. And they now have been separated. They were separated in the 16th century, however. So that is relatively new. um Originally, I and J were kind of interchangeable in a lot of words, in particular in greece Greek, Greek words and letters.

Something that's incredibly strange about the letter J then is that if you think about it, J is the first letter in Jesus's name. And before the 16th century, um he did not have a J at the beginning of his name. It was actually an I. Super interesting, right? Like, who knew that that is the direction that the letter J would take us?

I am going to take this week, this week where we have somebody moving into office that I don't personally support. And I feel that um he does not support the needs and wants of the common um woman.
04:39.41
Christina Scovel
I think there's other people that he also does not support. um I do not support a number of his beliefs. I'm going to take all of this and my Jay with just a bit of grace.

I'm going to take my J letters and focus on the positives, not the negatives. I'm not going to focus on the jackassery or jackwattedness. I am going to choose in particular for this week um to stay completely and utterly positive.

I hope that wherever you are in the world and you're listening to this, that you know that um my podcast in particular is one of inclusiveness and that all Americans, just like all Canadians or all British people, um you can't lump us all together. And so if you see poor behavior coming out of our country, please note too that it is not um my beliefs or thoughts standing behind that poor behavior.

that I believe in justice and I believe that at some point justice will be served. Now, um as many of you know, I do believe in karma and I think that karma is one of these things that if you are waiting patiently for karma to come and kick somebody in the balls, um that's not how karma works. Karma is a very, very sneaky, um it's it's it's a it's something that can't you can't wrap your head around because it it it doesn't just pop out of nowhere and knock you down when you want it to knock that person down, right? And the knocks that karma gives are not the k knocks that you as an individual feel like should be delivered. So if I see poor behavior happening in our country and I really wish that people would be taken down and taken down rather rapidly,

ah in a very just way, um that might not be what occurs. um The justice that is served I think is often justice that we don't see. and I'm going to take solace in that. I'm going to take solace in that in this third week of January, another day. And I hope that all of you out there can ah look at us with a little bit of grace as well. So with that, I thank you very much for tuning in and I will catch you on the flip side.
