I will say that I listened to an audio book that was called something along the lines of Why Can't I Just Enjoy Things ah Looking Into Autism, and it was a British comedian Really, I thought it was a comedy book. This says a lot about me that I thought it was a comedy book and had no idea it was about autism.

However, what came out of it is that I've now taken a number of autism tests and I believe that I am autistic, slightly autistic, but autistic nonetheless.

I did speak with my husband about actually being officially tested and he was like, you know, given what you know now, would it change anything? You know, what would it mean for you to actually get tested? No, for sure, I'm air quoting, that you clinically have autism. And the answer is probably not a whole hell of a lot.

Although I will say that this random delve into the history of letters and what what you can gather from our alphabet is something that somebody who is slightly autistic would do.

So take that for whatever you can. This week's letter is the letter Q. This week brought to you by the letter Q. Anybody remember old school Sesame Street where they did the letters each week?

Christina Scovel
C? Maybe they're slightly autistic too. ah Q evolved from a symbol representing a knot or a needle's eye. It was the Semitic letter meaning monkey or back of the head.

How out there is that? Greeks didn't take it, yeah but the Romans did. Kind of interesting, the Greeks said, nope, no need for the letter Q, but the Romans, they just really needed it.
02:11.44
Christina Scovel
um It's one of the least used letters. Only Z and X are more unused in the letter Q, so it is the third least used letter in the English language.
02:23.90
Christina Scovel
It makes a KW sound. Quah.

The lowercase is a mere image of the letter P. Why? Who knows? In Scrabble, it is the highest value letter you can play with 10 points.

Most common words using Q, of course, are question, quick, ah quiet, quote, or queen. There are really no famous books out there that start with letter Q, which for any of my author friends out there, I'm asking you to maybe take a step outside your comfort zone and publish something that will hit the New York Times bestseller and start with letter Q so I can fill in that void within my book.

When you start talking about famous movies, really one of the only famous movies I could find was Quantum of Solace, which is a modern James Bond film, not that old. um Q, where are you? I really do feel like you're just not, you're not representing here. q could we completely remove Q could be completely reute removed from the English language and just replaced by K or KW combined.
03:45.09
Christina Scovel
um Q does not survive because we need it in the English language. It survives because we really like the way it looks. It has this curviness to it.
03:56.55

And it also has a bit of regalness to it, which is why you see Q as ah queen, right? If Q was a person, it would be Wes Anderson, right?
04:09.88
Christina Scovel
It would be quirky, unmistakable out there, stylish, but unconventional, right? It'd be the royal tannenbaum of letters.
04:25.70
Christina Scovel
The cool thing with the letter Q is it's always paired with others, right? It's not ah it's not a singlet. It's not a letter that lives by itself. And if the letter Q were to be a person, it really would have a cult following because it's not necessary, but it is really, really beautiful.
