Loretta Byrd, President and CEO of the Benson Chamber of Commerce
Loretta Byrd is a remarkable woman and has been a true gift to the town of Benson, NC. Benson, NC is most famous for their Mule Days Festival that has been running for more than seventy years! Loretta organizes and directs the festival which utilizes hundreds of volunteers. It is a four-day event that covers just about the entire town! Literally, thousands of people with their horses and mules come to town to enjoy the activities. The event has everything from carnival rides, mules races, a rodeo, and the biggest parade of horses on this side of the world! In our podcast Loretta talksa bout what is involved to promote such an event and I thought it would be neat to see a different size of the horse industry.
