of biking at extreme elevation, thinking that"},{"startTime":246.267,"endTime":254.022,"body":"the air was going to be so thin and I wasn't going to be able to breathe and all for the last like two or three weeks, it's settled lower."},{"startTime":350.625,"endTime":356.055,"body":"And now my resting heart rate's like 37 or 38, almost like 10 points where it's been low for two or three straight weeks."},{"startTime":387.024,"endTime":392.937,"body":"And every morning I wake up and it's in the high thirties and my HRV is"},{"startTime":393.071,"endTime":403.507,"body":"insanely high as well, which I think is important thing to note for people I've mentioned"},{"startTime":393.071,"endTime":403.507,"body":"on the podcast before, but I've had so many DMs about HRV and people inquisitive about it."},{"startTime":403.707,"endTime":413.924,"body":"And one thing that people don't even realize, I think, is that having a lower heart rate"},{"startTime":403.707,"endTime":413.924,"body":"elicits a higher HRV in most cases, because what you're doing in HRV is you're measuring"},{"startTime":413.924,"endTime":416.435,"body":"the variability between heartbeats."},{"startTime":416.435,"endTime":419.076,"body":"And if your heart is racing really fast, like"},{"startTime":419.901,"endTime":423.381,"body":"then there's inevitably going to be less distance between your heartbeats."},{"startTime":423.381,"endTime":433.681,"body":"Whereas if your heartbeat is boom, boom, boom, then there's just inevitably going to be"},{"startTime":423.381,"endTime":433.681,"body":"more microseconds of distance between each of those heartbeats."},{"startTime":433.681,"endTime":437.471,"body":"So as your heart rate is lower, your HRV goes higher."},{"startTime":437.471,"endTime":439.561,"body":"And I think most people don't understand that."},{"startTime":439.561,"endTime":447.037,"body":"So as we compare my HRV when my heart rate is 46 to where it is when my heart rate is 39,"},{"startTime":439.561,"endTime":447.037,"body":"like,"},{"startTime":447.037,"endTime":453.177,"body":"nothing changes in the way I feel or in my breathing pattern or in anything like all of"},{"startTime":447.037,"endTime":453.177,"body":"the variables are the same."},{"startTime":453.177,"endTime":462.777,"body":"I'm doing it at 6 a on my couch in the same position, but the HRV will inevitably be"},{"startTime":453.177,"endTime":462.777,"body":"higher when the heart rate is lower and it will be lower when the heart rate is higher,"},{"startTime":462.777,"endTime":465.587,"body":"even from 39 to 46 beats."},{"startTime":465.587,"endTime":473.237,"body":"So imagine if your heart rate is 60 and you're not like a super fit cardiovascular phenom."},{"startTime":474.622,"endTime":479.644,"body":"then you will inevitably have a lower HRV just because your resting heart rate is
