Dick Brown, a 2019 South Dakota Hall of Fame Inductee, has spent a lifetime carrying forward a family legacy of service that traces back to a Norwegian homestead built in South Dakota in 1873. From Washington, D.C. to the State Legislature to a lifelong commitment to South Dakota's parks and open spaces, his story is one of mentorship, partnership, and quiet obligation to community.
In this interview, 2020 Inductee Jack Marsh sits down with Dick to talk about the mentor who shaped his life's direction, the love story that began with a blind date, and what it means to be one of only three couples ever inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame together.
