And it says,"},{"startTime":51.08,"endTime":55.28,"body":"\"And set his seat above all the princes"},{"startTime":51.08,"endTime":55.28,"body":"that were with him.\" Something that"},{"startTime":56.08,"endTime":58.12,"body":"Ahasuerus is seeing with Haman"},{"startTime":56.08,"endTime":58.12,"body":"causes him to promote him,"},{"startTime":58.16,"endTime":61.52,"body":"and now he's in this very"},{"startTime":58.16,"endTime":61.52,"body":"serious position of leadership,"},{"startTime":61.6,"endTime":65.2,"body":"second only to the king."},{"startTime":61.6,"endTime":65.2,"body":"We see in verse two,"},{"startTime":65.2,"endTime":68.01,"body":"\"And all the king servants that were"},{"startTime":65.2,"endTime":68.01,"body":"in the king's gate bowed and reverenced"},{"startTime":68.64,"endTime":71.88,"body":"Haman.\" Now we're starting"},{"startTime":68.64,"endTime":71.88,"body":"to see we have this man."},{"startTime":72.36,"endTime":77.36,"body":"He has just received a new"},{"startTime":72.36,"endTime":77.36,"body":"responsibility. Then the king's servants,"},{"startTime":101.8,"endTime":103.8,"body":"which were in the king's"},{"startTime":101.8,"endTime":103.8,"body":"gate, said to Mordecai,"},{"startTime":103.84,"endTime":106.4,"body":"why transgressest thou the"},{"startTime":103.84,"endTime":106.4,"body":"king's commandment? Now,"},{"startTime":106.4,"endTime":109.02,"body":"it came to pass that when they spake"},{"startTime":106.4,"endTime":109.02,"body":"daily unto him and he hearkened not unto"},{"startTime":109.1,"endTime":109.4,"body":"them."},{"startTime":109.4,"endTime":113.22,"body":"It didn't matter how many times they"},{"startTime":109.4,"endTime":113.22,"body":"tried to get him down from the mountain,"},{"startTime":113.22,"endTime":114.48,"body":"he wasn't coming down from the mountain."},{"startTime":114.76,"endTime":117.52,"body":"It didn't matter how many times they"},{"startTime":114.76,"endTime":117.52,"body":"asked him to bow, he would not bow."},{"startTime":117.96,"endTime":121.52,"body":"He's keeping to his guns. How can I hurt him?"},{"startTime":155.04,"endTime":156.96,"body":"But they had showed him"},{"startTime":155.04,"endTime":156.96,"body":"the people of Mordecai,"},{"startTime":156.96,"endTime":161.24,"body":"wherefore Haman sought to destroy all"},{"startTime":156.96,"endTime":161.24,"body":"the Jews that were throughout the whole"},{"startTime":161.24,"endTime":163.76,"body":"kingdom of Ahasuerus, even"},{"startTime":161.24,"endTime":163.76,"body":"the people of Mordecai."},{"startTime":164.52,"endTime":167.52,"body":"This is what people are warned of"},{"startTime":164.52,"endTime":167.52,"body":"over and over and over again in the"},{"startTime":167.56,"endTime":169.72,"body":"scriptures, especially in"},{"startTime":167.56,"endTime":169.72,"body":"the Doctrine \u0026 Covenants,"},{"startTime":169.72,"endTime":172.92,"body":"and especially when it comes to leadership"},{"startTime":169.72,"endTime":172.92,"body":"and power and authority. He's not"},{"startTime":173.0,"endTime":176.32,"body":"just bugged at one person. He's going"},{"startTime":173.0,"endTime":176.32,"body":"to destroy the whole Jewish, I mean,"},{"startTime":176.32,"endTime":179.88,"body":"talk about going to extremes, right?"},{"startTime":176.32,"endTime":179.88,"body":"This guy's not going to bow to me,"},{"startTime":179.96,"endTime":181.72,"body":"so I hate everyone that has"},{"startTime":179.96,"endTime":181.72,"body":"anything to do with this."},{"startTime":181.8,"endTime":184.4,"body":"This is racism at its finest."},{"startTime":184.76,"endTime":188.2,"body":"This is what President Nelson and"},{"startTime":184.76,"endTime":188.2,"body":"President Oaks have taught us so recently."},{"startTime":188.72,"endTime":192.84,"body":"Root out racism. Apparently, again,"},{"startTime":196.32,"endTime":199.0,"body":"I don't want to judge his wife,"},{"startTime":196.32,"endTime":199.0,"body":"but what you see in chapter six,"},{"startTime":200.04,"endTime":201.08,"body":"you're mentioning wife here."},{"startTime":201.16,"endTime":205.04,"body":"And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all"},{"startTime":201.16,"endTime":205.04,"body":"his friends everything that had befallen"},{"startTime":205.04,"endTime":207.36,"body":"him. We'll have to go back to"},{"startTime":205.04,"endTime":207.36,"body":"this to see what his wife says."},{"startTime":207.8,"endTime":210.2,"body":"Then said his wise men and"},{"startTime":207.8,"endTime":210.2,"body":"Zeresh his wife unto him,"},{"startTime":210.4,"endTime":214.6,"body":"if Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews"},{"startTime":210.4,"endTime":214.6,"body":"before whom thou hast begun to fall,"},{"startTime":214.64,"endTime":218.16,"body":"thou shalt not prevail against him."},{"startTime":214.64,"endTime":218.16,"body":"Zeresh, his wife,"},{"startTime":218.44,"endTime":223.4,"body":"is going to become pretty obnoxious."},{"startTime":218.44,"endTime":223.4,"body":"She's actually going to say, yeah,"},{"startTime":224.0,"endTime":227.32,"body":"go ahead. They're trying"},{"startTime":239.88,"endTime":243.32,"body":"to decide what are they going to do?"},{"startTime":244.08,"endTime":247.48,"body":"They go back to the king. We're"},{"startTime":244.08,"endTime":247.48,"body":"seeing this ugly flattery."},{"startTime":247.6,"endTime":249.76,"body":"There's so much flattery that"},{"startTime":247.6,"endTime":249.76,"body":"is associated with pride,"},{"startTime":249.8,"endTime":252.92,"body":"but watch the flattery here. And"},{"startTime":249.8,"endTime":252.92,"body":"Haman said into King Ahasuerus."},{"startTime":253.48,"endTime":256.56,"body":"There is a certain people. Notice he"},{"startTime":253.48,"endTime":256.56,"body":"doesn't even mention who the people are."},{"startTime":257.0,"endTime":260.88,"body":"\"There is a certain people scattered"},{"startTime":257.0,"endTime":260.88,"body":"abroad and dispersed among the people in"},{"startTime":261.0,"endTime":262.36,"body":"all the provinces of thy kingdom,"},{"startTime":262.4,"endTime":265.64,"body":"and their laws are diverse from all"},{"startTime":262.4,"endTime":265.64,"body":"people. Neither keep they the king's laws."},{"startTime":266.16,"endTime":268.6,"body":"Therefore, it is not for the"},{"startTime":266.16,"endTime":268.6,"body":"king to profit to suffer them."},{"startTime":268.96,"endTime":269.88,"body":"If it please the king,"},{"startTime":269.92,"endTime":273.68,"body":"let it be written that they may be"},{"startTime":269.92,"endTime":273.68,"body":"destroyed.\" It's so frustrating."},{"startTime":273.96,"endTime":276.24,"body":"Haman has one person that"},{"startTime":273.96,"endTime":276.24,"body":"will not bow down to him,"},{"startTime":276.28,"endTime":279.48,"body":"and instead of acknowledging to the king"},{"startTime":276.28,"endTime":279.48,"body":"that there's a man who won't bow down"},{"startTime":279.56,"endTime":280.393,"body":"to me,"},{"startTime":281.24,"endTime":283.92,"body":"he's putting that on the king and saying"},{"startTime":281.24,"endTime":283.92,"body":"there are a number of people who are"},{"startTime":284.0,"endTime":287.44,"body":"not being obedient to you."},{"startTime":284.0,"endTime":287.44,"body":"This is so destructive."},{"startTime":287.88,"endTime":290.68,"body":"He has convinced the king that people"},{"startTime":287.88,"endTime":290.68,"body":"are against him, and in reality,"},{"startTime":290.72,"endTime":291.92,"body":"no one is against the king."},{"startTime":292.68,"endTime":294.88,"body":"We're going to see this for the"},{"startTime":292.68,"endTime":294.88,"body":"next few chapters with Haman."},{"startTime":295.12,"endTime":299.76,"body":"His anger and his pride literally"},{"startTime":295.12,"endTime":299.76,"body":"overtake his entire personality because"},{"startTime":300.08,"endTime":303.04,"body":"one person will not bow down."},{"startTime":300.08,"endTime":303.04,"body":"He can't let one person go."},{"startTime":303.84,"endTime":306.6,"body":"And he doesn't realize it. And"},{"startTime":303.84,"endTime":306.6,"body":"this is a bit of a spoiler,"},{"startTime":306.72,"endTime":310.52,"body":"but he has just sealed his own fate"},{"startTime":306.72,"endTime":310.52,"body":"as he continues down this path."},{"startTime":310.8,"endTime":311.88,"body":"He thinks he's winning."},{"startTime":312.4,"endTime":315.52,"body":"Yeah. Then we see that the"},{"startTime":312.4,"endTime":315.52,"body":"king's caught up in this, what?"},{"startTime":315.6,"endTime":317.28,"body":"There's somebody who's not"},{"startTime":315.6,"endTime":317.28,"body":"bowing down to me? Well,"},{"startTime":317.28,"endTime":319.52,"body":"we already know how the king treats"},{"startTime":317.28,"endTime":319.52,"body":"people who don't bow down to him."},{"startTime":319.56,"endTime":322.28,"body":"He was just convinced by all these people"},{"startTime":319.56,"endTime":322.28,"body":"that he was going to let his wife go."},{"startTime":323.08,"endTime":326.56,"body":"He's delegating his power to someone"},{"startTime":323.08,"endTime":326.56,"body":"else without actually understanding the"},{"startTime":326.6,"endTime":330.0,"body":"situation, without finding"},{"startTime":326.6,"endTime":330.0,"body":"out more on his own authority."},{"startTime":330.08,"endTime":333.48,"body":"And it says the king said into Haman,"},{"startTime":330.08,"endTime":333.48,"body":"the silver is given to thee, so yes,"},{"startTime":333.56,"endTime":334.92,"body":"go ahead. You have my permission."},{"startTime":335.2,"endTime":337.72,"body":"Then the king scribes wrote"},{"startTime":335.2,"endTime":337.72,"body":"down basically this law."},{"startTime":337.8,"endTime":340.8,"body":"And if you jump over"},{"startTime":337.8,"endTime":340.8,"body":"to the end of verse 12,"},{"startTime":340.8,"endTime":345.24,"body":"he is able to write in the language in"},{"startTime":340.8,"endTime":345.24,"body":"the name of King Ahasuerus was it written"},{"startTime":345.24,"endTime":346.8,"body":"and sealed with the king's ring."},{"startTime":347.48,"endTime":350.68,"body":"The letters were sent by the posts into"},{"startTime":347.48,"endTime":350.68,"body":"all the king's provinces to destroy,"},{"startTime":350.8,"endTime":354.76,"body":"to kill, and to cause perish all"},{"startTime":350.8,"endTime":354.76,"body":"the Jews, both young and old,"},{"startTime":354.84,"endTime":359.52,"body":"little children and women in one"},{"startTime":354.84,"endTime":359.52,"body":"day.\" That's just sick. This is"},{"startTime":359.56,"endTime":362.8,"body":"leadership at its worst. This"},{"startTime":359.56,"endTime":362.8,"body":"is the opposite of peacemaking."},{"startTime":363.04,"endTime":366.48,"body":"President Hinckley has a great talk"},{"startTime":363.04,"endTime":366.48,"body":"where he talks about how anger really can"},{"startTime":366.64,"endTime":369.92,"body":"destroy a person, how anger causes"},{"startTime":366.64,"endTime":369.92,"body":"people to end up in jail and in prison."},{"startTime":370.36,"endTime":373.96,"body":"The anger is not only taking away the"},{"startTime":370.36,"endTime":373.96,"body":"agency of the people who are going to be"},{"startTime":374.0,"endTime":375.84,"body":"killed or who are in line to be killed,"},{"startTime":376.32,"endTime":379.96,"body":"but very clearly the anger is"},{"startTime":376.32,"endTime":379.96,"body":"taking the agency of Haman."},{"startTime":380.32,"endTime":384.44,"body":"He cannot control himself right"},{"startTime":380.32,"endTime":384.44,"body":"now. When she doesn't"},{"startTime":440.48,"endTime":444.84,"body":"do that, he's just really angry."},{"startTime":444.88,"endTime":448.24,"body":"But other than that, everyone else is"},{"startTime":444.88,"endTime":448.24,"body":"telling him what decisions to make."},{"startTime":449.52,"endTime":453.84,"body":"To me, it seems that he has not"},{"startTime":449.52,"endTime":453.84,"body":"based his leadership on principle."},{"startTime":454.0,"endTime":455.32,"body":"This is from President Kimball,"},{"startTime":455.36,"endTime":458.0,"body":"and this is a very important"},{"startTime":455.36,"endTime":458.0,"body":"point when it comes to leadership,"},{"startTime":458.0,"endTime":461.16,"body":"Christlike leadership, covenant"},{"startTime":458.0,"endTime":461.16,"body":"leadership. The principles stand,"},{"startTime":509.0,"endTime":513.72,"body":"You're helping me see here why Esther"},{"startTime":509.0,"endTime":513.72,"body":"is so fearful to do what Mordecai asks"},{"startTime":513.88,"endTime":518.52,"body":"because he is. The king is so"},{"startTime":513.88,"endTime":518.52,"body":"unpredictable and so easily manipulated."},{"startTime":519.44,"endTime":522.64,"body":"You see this next part."},{"startTime":519.44,"endTime":522.64,"body":"Mordecai rents his clothes."},{"startTime":522.68,"endTime":526.68,"body":"He recognizes what's happening.
