OK ASIA
Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir with me, sarah Ann, miss Panic. Today's going to be a rants and ramblings. We haven't done one in a while, yeah, not like a real bitch and moan.
Speaker 2I was trying to think. Well, a rants and rambling it's a nicer way to say bitch and mom.
Speaker 1Well, I was trying to. I was like, do I say it, Do I not say it?
Speaker 2Well, the news had been slow, so nothing major has happened you know, plus we were busy trying to get an interviews together. Also going to a concert. You, you know, invited to a concert yes, you know, so we needed to. We were busy doing all that and yeah that's awesome.
Speaker 1You know, we had a very surreal week, whoa, but it was cool. It was really like it took us by storm, though for sure we were like yeah, where's my head at? What am I doing?
Speaker 2so I, I yeah, like I would like more of that so, uh, let's kick right out speaking of storm.
Speaker 1Haha.
Speaker 2Yes, arashi, the anniversary, yeah november 3rd it'll have already happened by the time this comes out exactly their 25th anniversary.
Speaker 1That's so exciting.
Speaker 2Our rations will continue the festivities until, oh no, birthday, because then? Oh yeah, because it's november and it's oh no, yes, leader, leader, leader he's gonna be 44 oh my god, I know right, right wow, yeah, wow. What are you I?
Speaker 1know. But you know it's exciting because they've talked about their re-releasing all of their concerts on remastered blu-ray and whatever you know. So those of us who bought the dvds 20 years ago like now you're buying, I know.
Speaker 2So some of our our asians are like okay, now we're gonna invest in the blu-rays well, it's probably one of our friends.
Speaker 1She was saying what one would you invest in first, like what's your absolute favorite right? And I responded by saying you can't go buy me because I have all of them on DVD, because my sister and I started buying it forever ago. I was like and I even have VHS tapes of like the first concert in a juniors thing. And I was like I like seriously have everything, but they're re-releasing all of it. My sister was like they can't do this to us where are they doing to us?
Speaker 2now we're gonna get the blu-ray, because, of course, do you think they're gonna do?
Speaker 1they have like exclusives with the blu-ray well, I'm not sure, because a lot of the dv have, you know, extras Right and I was like if they say like unreleased extras now on the Blu-rays?
Speaker 2Oh my goodness, then it's definitely doom and gloom for us.
Speaker 1Bank account's going to take a major hit.
Speaker 2They were already like number one on Oricon. Just because of that Blu-ray, something came out right.
Speaker 1Yeah it was something about like they have the top 12 spots on the Ork on Blu-ray.
Speaker 2All our orations are out there. Bye, bye, bye.
Speaker 1Yeah, they're very excited about it. Yes, and somebody else was saying how congratulations orations for surviving 46 months of hiatus.
Speaker 2Oh, my God.
Speaker 1I was like, when you put it that way, it sounds right like forever.
Speaker 2Oh my god right, I know it's like. Thank you for the reminder.
Speaker 1Thank you for the reminder but yeah, so this is, uh, the 25th anniversary. Wow, oh my goodness yeah, I mean congrats to everybody who got to be there from the beginning. Some of us, you know, came in a little late because we oh yeah, I came very late. Yeah, you were later than me.
Speaker 2I was very late. I was in the cusp of like we're going to go on a hiatus, so let's just have fun. I'm like what, what? I just started, I, I just started following you. Why, why are you doing this to me?
Speaker 1This is not fair, so yeah, if you're like me a newbie.
Speaker 2Yeah, I feel you all so much. That year I cramped myself with everything, odyssey, you know.
Speaker 1Yeah, you were like the exam is tomorrow and you haven't picked up a book all year Exactly.
Speaker 2That was me trying to absorb and take as much as I can of arashi, because that, yeah, completely newbie, because you know arashi is one of those that's only in japan. You knew about it just because you know, your cousin and you know you're able to get stuff and whatever, and then you show me about them and I'm like, oh my god, you know, but it's you like, but I cannot, you cannot get us these here. And I'm like what, what?
Speaker 1where can I buy this?
Speaker 2she's like you cannot buy this what. What do you mean? I can't buy this, what? Yeah, I'm like well then, streaming services happen.
Speaker 1I'm like yay well, they were working on doing a big global domination right before the big. We're quitting, so we're giving you everything we can now and uh, yeah, that got messed up by the pandemic I was gonna use a worse yeah, that damn covid yeah, messed up everything so but they did give us all the music, they gave us free concerts, they gave us, you know, I mean, it was just, they gave us a documentary like they're you on youtube. They did free concerts, sorry people.
Speaker 2You did have to buy the yeah, their final. There's some concerts you can find on youtube. Yeah, a couple now, but there's more. Now they think they released?
Speaker 1yeah, no, they started yeah that's part of this whole anniversary thing. Yeah, we're like we're gonna put a few more things out here and a few more things out there. Yeah, keep feeding us the the rsh stuff yeah, so so that leads into matajun. Opened on london's theater yes, oh, my goodness.
Speaker 2So I know you're not supposed to take videos or pictures, but I want to say thank you very much for those mischievous fans yeah, I was gonna say I've seen a few mischievous fans. Thank you, you know we we got to see at least the, and you know him bowing, you know yeah, yeah after the show, which you know that's not, but yes, but thank you. I don't know what to say. You know you're you're not supposed to be doing that, but you know what.
Speaker 1Thank you because we got to see him well, that's how it's always been, just just in those fan videos or clips.
Speaker 2I'm like oh man, look at him. Oh man, look at him.
Speaker 1I'm like, oh man, look at him you know like, uh yeah, no, he's definitely. He's definitely got a presence on stage. Yes, I mean he always did, but now that he's older, a little more mature, you know, he's filled out man. The things I was seeing was he was still the young but you know why this is like but you know why?
Speaker 2right, because he looks up to Okada and hello Okada Jeez. Oh, my God. So you know he's like senpai you know I'm like yeah. I've been seeing that. You know like some of the mannerisms might be a little bit like Okada, but you know, still Jun. But yeah, like you said, he's a man.
Speaker 1He's aged well. But yeah, like you said, he's he's a man, he's he's aged well. He's filled out that facial hair though. Well, you know it's a thing, it's. I know it's part of the character. Well, no, but he was doing that too, like when they were leading up to their final concert. Yeah, he was letting himself grow facial hair during all those preparations, but once the show happened, he should.
Speaker 2I am a person who does not like facial hair at all on anybody new you know what? Some men can actually pull it off. But I'm sorry, no, no, I just don't like. I just have to say tom selleck is the only one that can wear a mustache. Tom selleck. Without a mustache, I'm like ew.
Speaker 1Well, you know, I mean, maybe it could depend to like some combinations the mustache with the beard or the mustache with just the like goatee. You know, I mean, it sort of depends how they arrange their facial hair too.
Speaker 2No, no, but yeah I know twitch is on me matt june facial hair new, new, new, new.
Speaker 1No, thank you so yeah, I, I would have to agree.
Speaker 2I like him smooth-faced yeah yeah, I want to see the face. Oh lovely face, because he's so handsome he is.
Ninomiya Privacy Break Twitter Incident
Speaker 1He is absolutely yes, but so congratulations to all those people who are getting to see love in action yes, in london. Wow, wow, lucky you dang it. I wish it was me I know well you know, not our time. My sister was like, well, maybe it'll come to new york oh my god that would be insanity too, but I mean there are, if they are to do that.
Speaker 2Please do not let the fan club fan club go first, because then we got no dips, we won't be able to get tickets.
Speaker 1I don't think this had anything to do with fan club. I think it was just all the theater thing I could be wrong.
Speaker 2I don't know, but I don't know, but I don't know. No, I'm just going to say Fan Club was in there.
Speaker 1A few years ago, shingo Katori from SMAP came here and did some theater in New York, because I went to see him. Okay, so it can happen.
Speaker 2It does happen. Maybe if it's not announced, but I mean it's Matsujo. So people are like Matsujo. So people are like Matsujo. Yes, definitely, I'm like. Let us give us the time I want to see, let us gaijins get a better chance, jeez okay anyways, so that's exciting.
Speaker 1He's apparently getting very good reviews. People are liking him and his ability, so that's awesome. I mean he's apparently getting very good reviews, people are liking him and his ability, so that's awesome. I mean, aside from fans the fans he could just stand there, you know, blowing bubbles and whistling, and fans would be like it was awesome.
Speaker 2He can just stand and just look at his watch and people are like yes, yes, just stand there breathing and people are just yes, master.
Speaker 1June, you know how to breathe. Yes, You're killing it oh man, okay, the fangirl brain yeah.
Speaker 2The fangirl brain Anyways.
Speaker 1What else?
Speaker 2have you found? Well, know you, it's, it's another arashi related topic.
Speaker 1Yeah is, everybody knows ninomiya kazanari is on twitter. Earlier in the day, november 2nd, he sent well early for us, it was afternoon for him. He made a post on Twitter. He was pretty upset, apparently, and he's going to take a break from Twitter for a while to collect his thoughts. I'm going to sort of just paraphrase what he said, based on. What happened was, apparently someone took a photo of him and one of his daughters it could have been more, it was just sort of said family, one of his daughters, it could have been more.
Speaker 1It was just sort of said family. Somewhere else I read that it was him and his daughter at a festival, so it was a professional, like a news outlet, I think, took a photo, posted it and, even though they blurred out people's faces, nino, understandably, is very upset because he's like you know, I, I'm an idol. I expect it. My life is not private as much as I want it to be, he's like. But when you're taking whether or not you blur out the faces you're taking pictures of my non-celebrity family. This is not right. They don't deserve to be exposed to all of this stuff the way that I am, because I'm a celebrity. So, anyways, he's like, instead of getting bitter and angry and posting only negative things, I'm going to take a break from Twitter and we'll come back when I am feeling less angry. So, anyways, that's very unfortunate and we know, especially here in the US, this is common and they don't even blur out faces.
Speaker 1They just take pictures of the whole family and post it everywhere, and it's a huge invasion of privacy. I totally understand what he's talking about because, especially for him, his daughters are both very young. I mean, they're teeny, tiny. He does not want people knowing who they are, recognizing them, chasing them down on the streets, and especially if they're at a festival, like as a family, can't you just leave them alone? Everybody's there to celebrate, right? If they just happen to be in the background of a big shot of the whole festival going on, that's one thing, but like to target them is just ridiculous, awful, and whether or not the faces got blurred out. So anyways, nino's stepping back for a little while till he can collect himself, and he's even more annoyed because this happened right before the anniversary he's like. So there was a big anniversary coming up, but I'm in a pissy mood, so I'm not gonna do it, you know so I don't feel festive.
Speaker 2I don't feel. Yeah, I was at a festival, but now I don't feel festive anymore. To fest, you know?
Speaker 1celebrate, yeah, oh my god and especially when it's not for promotions and not out for any activities related to the events that he's partaking in or the right the promotions he's doing for shows and stuff like. He's absolutely right like what? Oh, but because people want to know, people want to know, they want to see and everybody wants that scoop. This photographer was like, yeah, I caught him with his family.
Speaker 2Awesome, click, click that's so disgusting, you know it's disgusting, right, it's disgusting, you know, it's just. You know, if Ninomiya was not just Ninomiya of Arashi, it was just some guy with their daughter?
Speaker 1no, they're not gonna take a picture, or at least, if they do, they're going to say, hey, we want to put in a piece about the festival going on and you know, can we take a picture of your family? Like things like that people do do. You know? Like the local news, here's the Smiths having fun, but like that wasn't what happened. Yeah, exactly, and we were talking about, you know, other celebrities who do post their own children, and that's a completely different thing that's different?
Speaker 1exactly they're doing it on term, the way they wanted to do. They're controlling the setting. They're controlling the content, right you know?
Speaker 2like making sure their kids are, whatever you know, appropriately attired and whatnot like just one example that we I gave sarah was like miyavi and his family. You know they're all on instagram. They have pictures. Actually, miyavi has actually posted pictures with his daughter, his first daughter, but she was a baby, but it was like a photo shoot. Oh, look at me and my child. You know, yeah, because he's allowing that, but it's at his own terms, just like you said. Uh, but nino does not want his family at all be involved in any type of tabloid celebrity or whatever. You know that's his work. They're not work. They should not be involved in work. Family is family. You leave alone his family.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2You know, just take pictures of him. Him, if this photographer was uh intelligent and just wanted to say hey, you know me, I was at a festival and not even at all take a picture of the daughter, because you can take a picture from the waist up or the chest up yeah, but this, you know, I mean, it seemed almost like this was like total paparazzi style.
Speaker 2Someone just took a picture from a distance, this person just wanted to be a complete a-hole and just be like oh, you know, me and that and their child, you know, I want to be the first person bolting that.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's just disgusting because I I haven't seen anything of the photo. So I because I don't know where it was from and and I was my paraphrasing, it was just that it wasn't all of his exact words because it was a Google translate, so I don't know. But like the general gist is what I was trying to portray to everybody is he is understandably upset and disappointed that someone photographed him with his family, right, because I think it may not have been just the daughter, I think, like wife and other child maybe in-laws, but in the picture is him and family.
Speaker 2Yeah, it could be a daughter, it could be just a whole family, right? Because?
Speaker 1I saw one thing that said it was him and his daughter and then another thing that said his family, and he even said my family, but he could be referring from one to 20 people. Anyways, yes.
Speaker 2I'll be suing.
Speaker 1So we're not going to get our daily good morning everyone Good morning everyone.
Speaker 2No, ohio, it's not going to happen. Ohio, mina-san, nope, not happening. No, no, ohio's for quite some time. Because Nino's like, because you know Nino can hold a grudge.
Speaker 1If you're familiar with Arashi and Nino, he can definitely hold a grudge. I love him for it. I love him and I totally understand yeah.
Speaker 2He's like I'm going to live my life. Hey, by the way, fans, I'm married. Deal with it. The ones who are really my fans, they will support me. Hey, fans, guess what? I have my first child. Well, I was going to say and everybody's.
Speaker 1You know. We were lucky that he shared that. Yeah, he didn't give a name or the exact date of birth, just said in February had a baby, exactly, exactly. He allowed us it was a daughter. There you go, that's as much.
Speaker 2Exactly, he gave us a gender that's it, daughter sometime in february right, we're hoping that it's a pisces or it may have been actually.
Speaker 1Yeah, we were, we were like it was towards the end.
Speaker 2May have even been march, but yeah, so but it's so funny because when the announcement happened that he said you know that he had a baby girl, that also Miyavi said I have a son, my son is born, and we're like, wow, that would be awesome if they were the same day and this one they could be Pisces. Because we know for sure that Miyavi's son is the Pisces? Yes, Anyways.
Speaker 1So All right. So I think that's the RRShe news, the RRShe news. So, despite what happened with Nino, everybody celebrate RRShe. Yeah, keep the 25th anniversary party going 25th anniversary going on the 44th birthday of Arita yeah, it's coming up, it 25th anniversary going on the 44th birthday of our Rita.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's coming up, it's coming up soon, wow, yeah, 26th, yeah, wow.
Speaker 1He's a Sagittarius.
Speaker 2Just throwing that out there.
Speaker 1He's probably like I don't care, and he's you're of the monkey. Yes, what else do I know? Right?
Speaker 2I got him covered. So this news, because you were like what? What's going on? Yeah, I hadn't heard. So, as you all know, yoshiki had major surgery. He is back home that I knew. He is still recovering oh my God, it's just like major for him, geez. But on october 28th, yoshuke stirred some concerns about among fans with his cryptic update on his official x twitter account regarding the boy group x y. Now I mentioned to you that uh, sometime earlier in the month, he revealed that yuya tagoshi, x member of news, is now joining the group as of october 25th interesting exactly because I'm like okay, I thought you wanted to go.
Speaker 2In my head, I thought you just wanted to go solo.
Speaker 1Well, he was doing solo. I'm not sure how voluntary the break from news was, let's just put it that way. So he was pursuing solo activities.
Speaker 2I thought he was having a very successful solo career and about why not.
Group Member Controversy and Stakeholders' Influence
Speaker 2His voice is amazing. You know he's a, he's a good artist, he's a good talent, but why does he have to be in a group? Why is he? Why is he joining this group? That doesn't to me, does not make sense. So I'm reading this article, uh from tokyo hive, where it says the group consists of 13 members. Uh, they debuted last june, uh, last year, and it's an addition program. So like I think I um so recently, the shocking announcement of yuya joining the group of october 25th had already generated significant buzz, so I guess fans were like what the hell, you know?
Speaker 1Well, his fans, or the fans of the new group?
Speaker 2Significant buzz Okay.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2Just a general buzz. They didn't say like who's who, but I'm thinking when they say significant buzz, so I'm thinking the fans for XY and probably Julia julia's fans as well. Yeah, I think that's probably a collective like what the heck you? Know absolutely so yoshki expressed on x twitter I'm considering stepping down as a producer of xy, taking into account the feelings of the fans plural yes, oral fans yes, okay I hope for the best situation for everyone involved.
Speaker 2So apparently this statement rise eyebrows among followers. I'm like, uh, I'm like thinking, I'm thinking. I'm thinking is it because you know he's recovering from major surgery? But then, of course, that whole hoopla of like Yoyi Yoya being in there Look at me, Yoyi Yoya just being a member now. Okay, so he further elaborated, stating in making this announcement, two significant promises made to stakeholders were broken. Oh what, I can discuss this further if needed. I wish for the members success and happiness. Right now I'm focusing on my current work and rehabilitation, so that makes sense.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2You are adding somebody without auditioning properly, like the other members, oh.
Speaker 1It's like nepotism, only they're not actually related. Well, you know, what's interesting is because a different article I see from what is it? Article I see from, uh, what is it? Nippon television executive director was saying that they have high hopes that, to go, she, you, yeah, the new member of yoshike produced xy could be a catalyst for the group. Oh right, he could, he could be the catalyst yo, what are you trying to say?
Speaker 2uh, whatever it was who? Okay, this is a slap for the fans. These were picked, this was just for audition. So you're just saying that the 13 members picked by I don't know who are not really cutting it. So let's bring somebody with some art, push with I don't know talent this this is what it sounds like.
Speaker 1Well, not not so much someone with talent, but someone with uh established.
Speaker 2Come on cut it dry. I just as being no, but for me, for me, my understanding is like saying yeah, these guys are fine, let's bring somebody with talent. That's what that's me, that's why fans are all pissed off.
Speaker 1Yeah, that could be well. Or just like I said, simply that they're like well with a big name.
Speaker 2That'll help you know again, that's a slap on the face. Oh yeah, absolutely. They're just saying, yeah, we pick you, but you're really not cutting it they're trying to to put it nicely here, though exactly sugarcoat it no well, and it's always these kids have been like if y'all, what the hell, what exactly like? Why are you bringing this guy here?
Speaker 1you know he's a veteran, he's already established, he already has a fan base so no, no so no, but it's right there, he could be the catalyst. Wow, you said that I mean I don't know I don't know what this executive director for the television has to do with.
Speaker 2What is his name, does it say? It doesn't say, of course not.
Speaker 1An executive director.
Speaker 2Oh.
Speaker 1Has high hopes. So I don't know if he has a stake in this, because it was a talent show produced group. You know what I mean Like, so does he actually have some sort of investment in the whole thing going on? But yeah, no, it's definitely Wow.
Speaker 2So now listen to this. This is still from Yoshiki's ex-twitter. So Yoshiki also revealed that he had been instructed to reduce the number of contracted members for XY, despite his insistence that 13 members are necessary. So he unquote verbatim from Yoshiki I'm probably discussing this for the first time. Even the members might not be aware of it that there that there might be some cuts, oh, that they wanted to actually reduce the group.
Speaker 1Well, he doesn't Everybody else involved?
Speaker 2Yes, hmm.
Speaker 1We're both like hmm, Hmm.
Speaker 2Yeah. So fans responded with concerns, commenting what could have happened. I'm shocked by this other news and I think it will be better to discuss the meaning behind considering resignation face to face Other expressed sadness or arguing Yoshiki to speak with the members and make a choice they can all accept. So whoever invested money on this group are not happy because it's not making money. This is what in that it. This is exactly money. Guys, money talks and money ain't talking with this group. So they're like we gotta exactly like you said with with the other article, but we gotta bring somebody that can bring oomph. They can, in other words, bring money and they know that yuya, it's a talent and it can bring money. So that's why I'm like, confused of like, why is yuya saying yes to this group when he knows very well he is just very well on his?
Speaker 2own, yeah, already established and I'm thinking did they promise him something that are these stakeholders promising something if he, you know, becomes a member? Well, apparently he's already a member as of, you know, october 25th. Yo, wow, yo, what happened? But yeah, when I heard the news about, when I heard the announcement that yuya was it's the member of this group, I'm like why?
Speaker 1yeah, why would he do that? Why why?
Speaker 2why, why, what's wrong? I know I have not heard him drop new music in quite some time, but I mean when he went solo he was 100, he was on there, he was, you know, doing things, collaborations and that, and I'm like maybe he's just taking a break working on a new album. We're working on something, because they were working him into this exactly, but now this happening and I'm like hey, what, whoa interesting. Yeah, well, but from the two articles that we read, it just sounds it's the money.
Speaker 2Yep, it's all about money so these stakeholders are like you ain't making money for us, yoshki, step down.
Speaker 1We'll take care of it from now, that's what it sounds like, right, yeah, yeah it does. Wow, wow, that's just like eye opening. I was sorry, I got distracted too. I was looking at something else. Yuya talking about his past yes, saying he he hadn't left that other band because he didn't like them. It was not about not liking the group, that's so. That's what I'm saying. He left under, you know suspicious circumstances.
Speaker 2Of course you know they don't tell you much right, yeah, well, that's what I mean.
Speaker 1It was just one day he was there, one day he wasn't.
Speaker 2Well, no you know if it was because of johnny kitagawa was still, you know, present that he didn't say much.
Speaker 1But now johnny's gone.
Speaker 1Well, I mean, you know talent agencies still try to, yeah, you know, keep stuff, so could have been any number of things caught partying you know who knows. But uh, yeah, I don't remember the what circumstances were listed for for him, but he, he was simply saying I didn't leave because I didn't like the group or anything, it just it happened. And now he's joining this new group because, you know, they're probably telling him just say you wanted to be part of a group again. And I mean, like I'm wondering how much of this was really free choice on his part to you know, like, yeah, I want to do this as opposed to we want you to do this, we need you to do this. Well, either way, I hope everything works out well for the fans and for the artists and everybody you know, because, like, you were saying nothing, like basically being told you're not worth anything unless we throw this established artist in here with you and then oh yeah, by the way, some of you don't get to stay because we think there's too many of you.
Speaker 1You know what I mean like wow, wow, maybe they'll do the right thing and at least break them into two groups.
Speaker 2It works for exile tribe, come on I know well 13 members of 20 in a group and they're out there doing their thing you can make it work.
Speaker 1Just it's just some uh greedy higher up stakeholders, yeah exactly.
Speaker 2You ain't making money, that's just our.
Speaker 1What are you gonna do?
Speaker 2you know how the music industry is yes, yeah, they put you together. They do something. Oh, big hit and whatever I mean not big hit meaning the company but yeah, oh no, you know. And then all of a sudden it's like okay, you're not making money, we gotta do something we, yeah, we downgrade you, we stick you in somewhere else.
Speaker 1if it still doesn't work, we kick you out. Yes, yes, mm-hmm the general music industry way of doing things.
Speaker 2It happens here too. I mean, they keep hounding you and you know to just drive you insane. We have seen it.
Speaker 1Yes, we have.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness, so I don't know. There's not much going on. I think those are the two that I'm thinking that we needed to discuss, because we were like what the heck happened?
Speaker 1Well, did we want to? From a couple of weeks ago, poor Jessie. Oh yeah, all the fallout from that particular incident.
Speaker 2Our girl Jessie. We support her 100%. Well, you know there was this. If you haven't or you have, this is just going to be our opinion of like that whole mess. You know, I mean there's of cctvs out there with her a few guys, because it was, yeah, you know her and guys she was gonna say yeah, I wouldn't really call it like the.
Speaker 1The media keeps trying to post it as like her entourage, but it's just she was out with some people and some friends of friends and friends of friends of friends, all sort of wound up together and uh, she is sitting on the floor on a stoop, I don't know she's sitting there outside, she's sitting somewhere.
Speaker 2and this guy approached her just like hey, apparently to asking hey, can we take a picture? If you see on the cctv, there she, the flash on his phone was going off, did you saw that? No, I didn't yeah, so while he, was holding the phone, the flash kept going on. So I was wondering, was he like? Kept taking pictures while approaching her Probably.
Speaker 2Which that was like what the fuck, you know, like what the hell is going on. The guy that was next to her was like dude, you know, trying to push him off. I don't know if there was some cussing involved, because she was like yo, yo, yo, you know. She was like that's OK, you know, step back, step back. But apparently that wasn't it. A brawl happened. Some I don't know how many people jump on this guy. He was badly beaten, you know. Jesse was like I don't know what to do here.
Speaker 1Well, I know, yeah, everybody's like she should have done something. As a woman, you very rarely want to put yourself in the middle of two guys, two, three guys. Yeah, just two is bad enough.
Speaker 1I don't know how many were involved, but like yeah, you, you don't want to step in front of flying fists. Well, I know, personally I don't, I won't. Yeah, so she did issue apologies. People I mean people have been running her up and down the rails about she should have done something. This should have happened.
Speaker 1The problem is, when you are faced with an incident like that, you're sort of just in shock, right, I think they'd apparently been out, just a bunch of friends having a couple drinks, having a good time. Someone approaches, saying, you know, let me take a picture, and I believe that she had said no, thanks, I don't really want to. They pushed the issue. Somebody was like yo, you can't do that, you know. I mean, things escalated very quickly, right, and I think that just the shock of like what the hell is happening, you know, and she so she has, like I said, she issued an apology, saying she should have handled it better. She should have been a little more gracious with the fan. Let him take a photo, you know.
Speaker 1Okay, celebrities aren't at your beck and call, right, it's sort of like what we were talking about earlier with nino. Like you see them, you don't get to just take a picture, personal space, understand the situation. So, anyway, she was like maybe I should have just done this, maybe I should have done that, I should have thought to call the police sooner, you know, I mean. But like again, these are all things in the moment, when it's happening. You're just like what am I seeing? You know, I'm sure probably some of her friends were like let's just get you out of here you were saying what's gonna happen was there more than just the the two involved.
Speaker 1I only saw short clips of things I just saw.
Speaker 2So many people like in there, like, so it was like multiple people yeah, I don't know if they were guys jumping on the guy or guys also getting the guys of the guy, you know right, so it's like. But I just saw guys, just yeah, in that group of whatever was happening, yeah, and jesse was on the outside like oh my god, like what the hell am I gonna do?
Speaker 1in a state of shock. And again, as a woman, I know she's a tough girl, but like I still wouldn't step into the middle of a bunch of guys fighting no, not at all the only way you can stop that if you have a hose and start hosing everybody down, right right exactly you know, but I mean yeah this was just, it was so bad and no and you know if she, if if it is, of course we don't know the conversation in there.
Speaker 2If she said, no, I don't, you know, I don't want to take a picture right now. Step away, dude, right but.
Speaker 2If this dude kept pressing. I'm sure the other guy was just like yo. She said, no, what the hell right? So if that happened, if this guy put himself between jesse and and then the guy, so of course. But you saw her. She was like no, no, no, no. Yeah, she did hold him back, like try to hold him back, like no, it's okay, you know, don't talk to him like. I'm sure she was like don't talk to him like that, don't talk to him like that, let it go yeah, yeah, but no the guy didn't let it go.
Speaker 2And then I saw some other girl pushing, getting her boyfriend or whoever away from the situation, because I guess it's like, hey, there's a brawl, let's get in there, yeah, everybody.
Speaker 1Well, maybe some of this guy's friends and some you know?
Speaker 2No, it was a mess.
Speaker 2Poor, thing, you know, and everybody's just like blaming her, and then something from an incident similar. But you know what? Okay, I'm gonna give. Okay. So that situation happened to jesse. Now this happens to any girl. Of course I'm talking about my florida life has been very wild, because now I'm gonna give another story.
Speaker 2I had a friend very beautiful I mean, she was even went to modeling school. We were out. Then this guy's like yeah, I want to talk to you, but of course he was like he was drunk. So my friend's like no, dude, step away. And I'm like, yeah, what's, you know? It's like, dude, go away. A bouncer actually got between us because he saw the situation. But the a bouncer actually got between us because we, he saw the situation, but the guys like wanted to fight with the bouncer because he wanted to talk to my friend. So that's a situation that also happened. Now, my friend is not a celebrity, but she was a really pretty woman. So it's like there's guys like that. They want to keep pushing because they want to be with you, right so and they will cause a ruckus.
Speaker 1Yeah, just as celebrity, she's already a focus. And she's a beautiful female celebrity, exactly, so that is even more of an incentive for this guy.
Speaker 2There were no cameras here of course we're talking about the 90s. There was no cell phones back then, but you know it felt like the same situation. I was looking at her situation going like that. I'm like, well, that had happened with me and my friend so many times that it's just just disgusting. When somebody says no, you know you back off. It pisses me off if I was there I probably would jump on him too.
Speaker 2You know like I was the one Get the fuck out. You know like I was on with that guy Get out.
Speaker 1Well, that you know, it probably wouldn't have been as big a situation if she'd been surrounded by her girl crew. Yeah, because you know all the girls would have just gone up and like, slapped it, get out of our face, exactly, smack the phone down, you know. But it not a brawl.
Speaker 2No, in the same sense, but it would have been we put a pool hair kick in the groin, kick them ribs.
Speaker 1Kneecaps well that's pretty brutal I mean women would have just been like, arms flailing everywhere to keep him from being able to get a photo of her, you know like get up whoa move.
Speaker 1Hey, oh, you know, mace, so you know, I mean it's like we weren't there. All we have are clips to go by, right, but I just feel like that she can't control testosterone. No explosions from people in her group that may or may not have been, actually you know, because she was saying it was friends of friends. Everybody was just hanging out who started what, but like remember, I was telling you. Right after it happened, I saw a live thing on talk about what happened with Jesse, and like people were saying horrible things, like horrible, ok, like go yourself, you don't, she doesn't deserve that.
Speaker 1OK this could have been.
Speaker 2They were saying horrible things about Jesse. Yes, why no? She's the victim there.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2She's the victim of freaking male machismo. Just put it right there, stupid ass machismo. They just, you know, see a pretty lady. They just do whatever they freaking want and no right, and that's what I.
Speaker 1I was like she's not the one who beat up the guy and she can't control. This could have been just like you were saying you and your friends in the bar. This could have just been regular people, a regular saying you and your friends in the bar yeah, this could have just been regular people, a regular situation. It would be written up in the newspaper. As you know, the police had to break up this fight.
Speaker 2Exactly, that was a brawl Blah, blah, blah, but you wouldn't all be telling us you know the victim of that Exactly.
Speaker 1You wouldn't tell Panic's friend. You know that she should just go jump off a bridge and do everyone a favor, because you know she started this brawl like it wasn't her fault.
Speaker 2She, she was trying to brawl by sitting there just chilling with his friends and trying to put up a boundary of you know.
Speaker 1No, I don't want a photo taken right now again machismo, some freaking asshole that has nothing to do.
Speaker 2Oh, pretty girl, I want a picture with you, but because it's Jessie oh, it was Jessie, some freaking asshole that has nothing to do. Oh, pretty girl, I want a picture with you. But because it's Jessie oh, it's Jessie Can I take a picture with you? I'm like no, you don't have to take a picture with me. All right, I'm just chilling with my friends. I'm just Jessie, I'm just a girl Just sitting here. There's another girl over there sitting over there. Why don't you go over there and ask her to pick a picture with you? All right, you know, just because I'm on tv and then you're cameron or whatever, and I make music and whatnot, which is that's just my job, just like, whatever you freaking do, that is your job. Oh, let me take a picture of you because you know you're a clerk at a post office yeah, no, why don't you do?
Speaker 2that you'd be like. I'm a fan of you. You work at the post office. Can we take pictures?
Speaker 1my favorite people just start doing that, you know yeah being an artist is just another freaking job.
Speaker 2People are putting these poor people like idols. I'm like no, they're just. They're just artist creators.
Speaker 1You know, just like anybody else, when they do a job right, but they're people at the end of the day, and if they want to go out and have a drink and some snacks with their friends, they should be able to do that without the whole world, you know. Oh, my god, it's yo, I love you and I'm like, okay, let me get a picture when especially when she said you know, no, I really don't want to exactly like that should have just been the end of it.
Speaker 2Exactly Boundaries.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's so. I feel bad for the victim. She should not apologize for this.
Speaker 2She should have not apologized. She should have not been questioned for hours. What I right? Yeah, that was the other. Why is she being questioned?
Speaker 1Because it's not the first time this has happened. What was the other time? There was some. Someone else came forward from years ago claiming that like a similar incident happened, that they had asked for a picture and she had said no, and they got beat up by the, the entourage that was part of this. This issue is like there's like it's not the first time this has happened with jesse where's your evidence?
Speaker 2where is the pictures of that, of that first person? I don't know. You know you can come out and say anything, but that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1That's why people are so incensed about this, but I'm like, seriously, oh my god, I'm pretty sure beyonce's got some guys who've taken care of ill-behaved fans behind the scenes you know, I don't know for sure, but this is a common occurrence for celebrities to be approached unexpectedly, so I'm pretty sure that similar things have happened all around the globe with other celebrities.
Speaker 1Some of the male artists even just punch out the fan themselves. So you know what? Yeah, so it just. It got the. It got perpetuated and made worse because apparently someone else who had been in an altercation years ago came forward again to be like yeah, I'm calling that a freaking lie well, it may be true, but like I want evidence.
Speaker 2Why are you? Waiting until this happens exactly to try, and that's what I'm saying is a lie. It's somebody else who just wants to be in there and be like.
Speaker 1I'm gonna be famous as the one that never came out of saying something but yes, I don't know the particulars, because it just said and someone else came forward, so people were using that. As see, this has happened before and I'm not saying it's no I don't know, but I'm sure, 100 sure in the entire years of rock and roll and artists and musicians dealing with the public and fans, that this is not the first or last time that something like this will happen, true, and it's not.
Speaker 1It's not the artist's responsibility to go breaking up fights that other people started on their behalf you know exactly male or female, you can do what you can do, and so that's, I guess what she was apologizing was. She didn't try to you know, but she didn't do it she yeah she didn't react quickly enough in reporting anything, and I I don't exactly like what police help somebody's getting beat up you know well, someone was harassing me and now they're getting beat up and I don't know what people expected her.
Speaker 1No again, I know she's a tough girl and she's got some, some spunk to her, but yeah, you don't know what people expected her. No again, I know she's a tough girl and she's got some some spunk to her, but yeah, you don't get in the middle of a melee you just don't no she, just she has not been able to catch a break lately.
Speaker 2Let's just put it that way poor thing oh my god, we're with you 100, we're behind you 100, oh man okay I just you know which is okay.
