OK ASIA
Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir with me, sarah, and.
Speaker 2What you threw a monkey wrench there. You truly don't do that. I'm like what is she doing, Miss Panic over?
Speaker 1here. Well, it's because I'm sort of hyped up after what we were just doing.
Speaker 2That is so true, so true. It took a while to get this. We got the DVD for A-Group, which already went out on sale on December 4th. Correct, right went out on sale on December 4th, correct Right. So, of course, being overseas, we cannot just run to our local retailer that will sell CDs, unless we go to New York. I don't know. Is there someone? I don't know.
Speaker 1I'm sure there's probably somewhere.
Speaker 2Anywhere you live may have you know. They sell CDs from Japan right available. Hey, you're lucky that you got this dvd now. We have to wait, yeah exactly we have to wait, because this didn't ship until, like what, december 9th? Yeah, probably so anyways. So it's here. Sarah and I got together because this is like just so on a past episode. Now I'm going ahead on a past episode. I wanted to mention something, but then remember when I said, oh, I want to say something, but I maybe not so because I wanted to hint that we were gonna do an episode on a group's debut tour.
Speaker 2Yeah, but you know we weren't sure if we wanted to do it because how long was gonna take and you know all the logistics and yada, yada, yada. But you know, I think by the time that we got our you know our dvd it's.
Speaker 1Everybody has seen it and enjoyed it, and you know, or, if they haven't, they'll want to get it and see it and enjoy it. Yes, yes, well, because these guys are someone we've known about. They've been sort of on the back burner, right, because they hadn't debuted yet, right, you know, but someone we were aware of, mm-hmm Heard a couple of things here and there.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2So this was, yeah, this was like, and we have, they've debuted exactly what's going on, you know we know we have seen some of the members you know being, just because they're juniors backing up other of the senpais that we know about. Like I, uh, I know that richard had actually acted with june in some like clips for like some like I'm not seeing these shows, it's just clips from orations you know showing. You know clips of Matsumoto, june and whatever. And I seen this kid and I'm like wow, who's this actor? And I'm like cool. And then later on finding out oh, he's also part of Sarto and uh, it does. So that was cool and I'm like I wanted to know more about that kid, but then, of course, in a junior it's not readily available, at least for us, unless we do like a deep dive on, like finding out who is this kid.
Speaker 2And the kid that I'm talking about, of course, is richard.
Speaker 1I just mentioned it okay, so, as you know, can you tell that richard is my favorite.
Speaker 2richard is my it Okay. So, as you know, can you tell that Richard is my favorite? Richard is my favorite All the kids are amazing.
Speaker 1Well, they're not really kids anymore. Well, that's true.
Speaker 2They range from 30 to 22.
Speaker 1So a couple of them are on the older side of debut. Yeah, but that's also happened actually in the last few years with some of the other groups that debuted. It's true Some of them were already borderline up there In their late 20s.
Speaker 1Yeah, my favorite from a group, saya. I'm not sure if I'm saying his name right, saya, you're doing good. He just turned 30 this year on my dad's birthday. I don't know what it is with these groups. Like I just turned 30 this year on my dad's birthday. I don't know what it is with these groups. Like my favorite's always born on one of my family's birthdays, because I didn't know that until I sort of you know looked into his background, I was like oh my gosh Shares a birthday with my dad several years apart.
Speaker 2And the baby. You said that what Born on March 13th, yes, which is a day after my birthday, my birthday being march 12th makes him a pisces yeah, yeah masaya he's. He's a pisces, yes he's one of us, masaya sano, he's so cute yes and he's colored green like another love.
Speaker 1Okay, never mind we're not talking about the we we should. No, we should at least list all their names.
Speaker 2Yes, okay, so we have okay, so let's start this all right, let's start this, you know oh okay, our, our review I don't know someone our review or our our experience with you.
Speaker 1Go because we do.
Speaker 2We've done other you know live streams and watching videos.
Speaker 1Yeah, our reaction to yeah, so we've we've done this kind of thing before. So we were like I, we've been sort of anticipating something from these guys, because we knew they were a juniors crowd and waiting for their moment to shine. So here it was. Yeah, and this was the debut arena tour from. They were in Osaka, right, right. So this is this is a big deal.
Speaker 2I mean they are a concert group. Yeah definitely a big deal. I mean they are a Kansai group yeah, definitely a big deal. They do a tour right in the hometown of Osaka. So what I like about the intro of this is explosive, yes, with like the espionage kind of like you know dangerous type of like music.
Speaker 1We're like ooh what's going on?
Speaker 2very robotic, and you know one of the, you see one of the guys like on a keyboard and whatnot, and then they started introducing the guys. So first comes up is orichinoshinori masakado. He's the blue color which we'll find out later then it was say yes, sarah's favorite, it's a. Uh say yeah, sweet sour. Sorry, I'm really rusty on my japanese then we had of course came out, kate, that richard, richard, um. Then it was ken kojima andano Right.
Speaker 1You forgot to mention, though, that Seiya is red, richard is yellow.
Speaker 2Yep, ken is purple.
Speaker 1And Masaya is green. Yes, because you said Masaka is blue and then you forgot everybody else's color. So if you can keep track of their microphones while you're watching.
Speaker 2If you're not familiar with the group, right you'll know who's who right and once in a while you see like a spotlight with their color. True, once in a while they'll do that, but uh, the starting song was it firebird?
Speaker 1wow. Well, and because the whole, you know their whole little uh mission impossible thing going on at the beginning, the video that they showed to introduce them and they throw a lighter onto, obviously, some gasoline and the whole thing burns up. So you've got fire all over the place and then they, they literally boom while they came in that the doors open, and then they boom in your face.
Speaker 2I love that staging. Yeah, that was, it was really cool it was explosive, because then also it's projected like a firebird behind the guys and guys are coming out, just explosive. I'm like wow, see, this is an entrance, that's an entrance absolutely that really like oh, adrenaline starting.
Speaker 2You know, I can't wait for this to start. Of course, your adrenaline starts pumping more when they start showing pictures of the guys in the background. You know like, oh my God, that's my favorite, you can hear the fans. Of course you have to. Yeah, you know, I mean, they're not on stage, it's just, you know, projected and you're already freaking out.
Speaker 1They say their name.
Speaker 2Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1I know how that goes. We've been at those shows.
Speaker 2We've been there. It's like a picture of one of them, like if they were there. You know, just to we do that, just to let them know that, yes, we're here for you we are here for your support we just, you know we're here in the living room. That show already is in the past. We're here in the present watching the video that means DVD anyways.
Speaker 2Well, it's video yeah well, I'm thinking of VHS. Yes, anyways, we're doing that. So crazy, but so Well, it's video. Yeah, you know. Well, I'm thinking of VHS. Yes, anyways, I'm doing that it's so crazy, but yeah, that song, I like that song. Of course it's one song. The cool thing about this is that we got to experience songs that we never heard of yeah. And, of course, we have heard A Beginning, which they do play, but anyways, so we heard that Firebird, which we were like wow, yeah, totally floored.
Speaker 1That was awesome.
Speaker 2And they had those crazy big fur.
Speaker 1I was like it's July there and they're wearing these huge fur coats.
Speaker 2You know me with the costumes. I have always made a complaint about the big floofy costumes well, this wasn't.
Speaker 1This wasn't too. You know, I'm sorry, no fur coats, that my thing was it's july and it's fur coats, it's they come in.
Speaker 2I mean, I'm just excited for the boys, but I'm like what are you wearing?
Speaker 1well, it's so like, but they were black and white, so they were. You know it's not as bad as we've seen the birds on shoulders I never liked that costuming.
Speaker 2You know the the big fluffy like furry thing. It's very popular though, I know, and it's like I seen it in other, like videos and groups from, and I'm like, well, I guess it's just a thing for them. You know for the company to do that?
Speaker 1Oh I mean, it's not just their company, it's just a thing. It's a thing. People like that big fur coat thing I'm not a big fur coat kind of for me, I can't wear it, no, but I'm saying this company likes to do that yeah, no, absolutely, and I just hope they can just let go of it.
Speaker 2I think it's a waste of money. It's they can do something better than that. I don't mind having it as an accent, but if you're wearing a full on carpet, no, but they were coordinated. Yes, they were.
Speaker 1So at least the only thing, they were subdued and coordinated. So that's you know, this is the only thing that I'm like.
Speaker 2I don't like it's just that costume, but I mean, you know, this is the only thing that I'm like. I don't like, it's just that costume, but I mean the guys performance are amazing, we're talking about the performance.
Speaker 1I just don't like that costume I know there's all the groups that always had that kind of costume, I'm like, oh my god, there's that thing again.
Speaker 2No, but anyways, besides that, but the song was amazing oh no, the song was great the song was great but I mean, you know, I can tell the guys were already like I can't wait to get off this thing, because who was it? The baby? No, it was your boy. Yeah, yeah, he was already like showing shoulder.
Speaker 1Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was like. I'm already taking it off Him and I think Ken also.
Speaker 2Yes Him, and I think.
Speaker 1Ken also was trying to remove the coat rather quickly.
Speaker 2Yeah, they're probably like. I am so hot under this thing, I can't wait to take this off.
Speaker 1But my boy also. I mean he had pants, but he had that skirt over it too, which he was probably dying with the fur coat. I know 200 layers of clothing, oh my God.
Speaker 2And he's like the shortest and he has the most material on. I know, oh my God, he's like I'm like poor guy, but anyways, they have to do their thing and they're doing their thing with, you know, 50 pounds of clothing, yeah, and you know they're sweating buckets already and I'm like, hey, but they're singing, they're doing their thing, cheering on to the fans. You know?
Speaker 1Well, yeah, they were definitely hyping up the crowd, getting everybody moving, oh yeah, and grooving and enjoying themselves. Mm hmm, which is very important very important part of what they were doing.
Speaker 2I do like after when, what's a song that they started changing?
Speaker 1clothing. Um, I think it was around want, like they lost the jackets want. That was another good song yeah, it was I was like wow, I like this song too so I think that's yeah, that's around when they started to lose the the bigger outer layers right and one of them was wearing like this, like gold, kind of like shirt I like that shirt yeah, it looked really good on him.
Speaker 2Of course, it's like revealing of the layers of the Muppets Anyway.
Speaker 1So we had the higher energy opening and then you know, sort of a mellow-ish want. Want was a little more up-tempo again, like a little more intense, and you okay over there, I'm okay.
Speaker 1I just needed to drink something. Gotcha Gotcha, okay, yeah, no, I think they were very good about using the staging they had, the way they moved around. Like you know, a lot of times debut groups are a little shy to get too far out, but they were seasoned veterans as far as that goes, reaching the far extents of the the arena oh no, they have to practice.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's like you're gonna be, that's what I'm saying. You're gonna do that, you're gonna stay here. You know it's yeah. So kudos to them. When they gotta put, uh, get themselves on them risers, you know I will be like no, oh yeah, I know those things, the going up like 20 feet in the air.
Speaker 1Oh those things always scare the jesus out of me.
Speaker 2It's crazy because I'm crazy yeah, no, I'd faint and fall, yeah no, I I'll be there, but laying on my back and singing, i'm'm not looking up, I'm not standing up.
Speaker 1No, I'm holding on, laying on your stomach, holding the edge. I'm going to hold on here. Hook my feet on the other side. Oh my God.
Stage Outfits and Introductions Review
Speaker 2Meanwhile you're screaming yabai yabai, yabai yabai. This is scary, but you know they just did like they like. You know it's part of their feet you know, uh, that was that's really good. Now one outfits that I like.
Speaker 1They look like the chanel look oh, yes, yes, they added that to the the black and white, you know outfits yeah right, they start costume they were they were very coco, very coco right, I was like it's that weird sort of like pilly, yes, with the, the trim around it on and on the pockets and those big buttons. Yeah, I love it. Yeah, me too those are gorgeous.
Speaker 2I want everybody's outfit so I can wear it myself because I love the look. Love, love, love. This is something I can wear, like the other one.
Speaker 1Yeah, so that was something they added, but then they got rid of it again, because when they did that Partyaholic song, everybody was like super sultry.
Speaker 2Let me tell you so Partyaholic starts was like completely black. Then you see this poles, like this lights, and it's like okay, well you know, let's see maybe it's gonna be a slow song and it's like, oh, not a slow song, it's a bit more sultry song. And um, everybody was just like a white button, down with a black tie and it was halfway open. But there was a member who decided to like open more.
Speaker 1Well, everybody, they all sort of started a little yeah Striptease going on, which, you know, transitioned through a couple of songs that they oh yeah, but some of those, the moves they were doing, like they had the little party train everybody you know, doing the hip swaying and the I don't know they were you remember what I'm talking about. They were all lined up and they had, like, almost had their hands on each other's hips, but they, they weren't actually holding their each, but they just service shimmying and swaying. And then they all turned and did a little dip and yeah, yeah, that song was fire. Everybody was screaming partyholic.
Speaker 1You need attention to that one you do need to see this yeah, that was quite a performance okay what about the ending of partyholic?
Speaker 2yeah, I know the red lipstick.
Speaker 1Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I where did?
Speaker 2he get that? I don't know. Everybody was wearing red lipstick at one point and I'm like what?
Speaker 1but oh, but they only showed um masaka sme.
Speaker 2Yeah, smearing like the lipstick. It's like how did?
Speaker 1that happen? Well, they had like a video playing in the background too, and it was on there too, yeah, so I would like to know more about the song.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah, I want to know the lyrics about this song, because it was quite sultry on that stage and steamy, yeah, steamy.
Speaker 1Yeah, the sort of half shadowy video in the background it's like right people's hands on collarbones and I was like what's?
Speaker 2up with this. So it's like the whole place is dark except for a few of smoke.
Speaker 1The boys are all like hey, mama I'm like okay hello, yeah, no, that was quite wow, wow, wow wow yeah, wow, very impressive another one that I liked when they started introducing themselves.
Speaker 2You know they always do like a song, they introduce themselves and that was so cool, that was so cool. So, of course, very fun and funny. I like richard's hair.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, the with the, the yellow, the breeds with the yellow introduced in it. Oh yeah, I was like yes well, you know, it's his color, so he's good it was cool.
Speaker 2It was long. He was like the only one with long hair. Well, medium.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, no, he definitely had long hair.
Speaker 2Yeah, everybody else is almost down to his, down to his chest yeah, so yeah then they.
Speaker 1They moved on to their sort of everybody's little individual pieces oh yeah okay, so from all of those okay so we start with who it was. Uh masaka. Well, he was introduced by I think it was masaya and saya.
Speaker 1They were doing a little, they had the little panda heads on and then one of them had no, all of them had the panda head well, well, they were the only two out on stage and they were sort of talking and then, all of a sudden, it was this kiss inspired panda rock star came up and that was masaka with the. You know, it had the star on it and he had the. What was it? Flare shooting guitar, yep, and he was what?
Speaker 2bread panda yeah right, the song bread panda. We're like what is this?
Speaker 1it was well. I thought it was going to be a whole group thing, but it was the other two were only there with their little panda heads to sort of introduce right the main bread panda, which was just insane. He had the platforms and the. I mean he totally looked like that 70s rock band kiss it was a mash.
Speaker 2It was a mash of all of them, right, which we're like, oh my god, what is that? A kiss inspired outfit? That's crazy, but it looks cool. It was, and of course, this is like the campsite part of like being funny and have their own little skits, which it was so cool, you know. And then we had um richard to be like, uh, michael jackson. Right, he was wearing like a get up like michael jackson and he was trying to do his thing, but the other two did not let him. Yeah, he kept getting interrupted. I'm like, come on, let him do his thing. That's not right.
Speaker 1You're all in your thing oh, but then uh ken chan, oh, my god ken chan.
Speaker 2That was adorable, the wearing the preschooler's clothes with the yellow hat. Oh, my god the yellow hat killed me.
Speaker 1It was, that was awesome, and he even had the like little badge.
Fun and Silly Kansai Concert Review
Speaker 2You know, like the name tag the blue powder blue shirt with the white color. Jeez, it's so cute. He was cute and the song was cute. He was cute and the song was cute Mm-hmm, oh God and the oh yeah, that one, I don't know. I'm like what are they trying to say there? I don't know.
Speaker 1Everybody was liking it, but again.
Speaker 2My poor Richard was left behind. Why are you leaving my poor Richard behind?
Speaker 1Well, it was like they couldn't find a rhyme for his name or something. I was not a hundred percent sure what the whole right song was about, like they were doing a little chant with their names and then yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. When it came to him, yeah, it was like they didn't know what to do Exactly.
Speaker 2Everybody was just like Richard.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And he's like what.
Speaker 1Yeah, really the look on his face. Are you kidding me Exactly?
Speaker 2How come you have nothing for me, aw?
Speaker 1And then we had our 30-year-old boy, yes, yes, with the school uniform that was Seiya with the middle school maybe.
Speaker 2Yeah, I want to say middle school, because it wasn't a high school like kind of uniform, because you still wearing shorts, yeah you know the shorts with the blazer, yeah little polka dot tie. He was the more like you know suit up of the rest. But oh my god, what's with the burpees?
Speaker 1he did like 20 burpees I'm like what everybody, everybody else is singing and yeah, he's doing a workout, he's doing a workout and I'm like what is it?
Speaker 2you're like what is he doing? They're like I don't know, but he keeps doing it. I think he did 20 burpees, you know, going up and down, up and down.
Speaker 1It's like wow oh my god, it was crazy that was crazy, but it was fun well, we haven't even gotten to the baby.
Speaker 2The final one oh my god, yes, we were like what is that?
Speaker 1oh, he came out looking like a gladiator, oh my god. But see, all of that was sort of showing the like fun side of the kansai what was the name? I, I love you night yeah, yeah, I believe it was are we night? No, no, no it was um, or I still night, I still night, so I love you night. Yeah, like was he the night that people love or does he love the night, I don't know. He was like night and shining armor or nighttime, because he was a gladiator so right, oh my god, it was funny, it was a surprise.
Speaker 2I was like what?
Speaker 1he was so into his character too. He was, he owned it, but that was definitely like just a very you know, fun again showing their sort of carefree, happy-go-lucky right side of the world. Kansai yeah, as we know, they're a different kind of crowd oh yeah people are our people.
Speaker 2We love our kansai people. They're so much fun. Absolutely, they're really cool. Anyways, what was our?
Speaker 1other favorite song. Well, they did a lot of more fun ones um they did metley's right.
Speaker 2Yeah, they started. They started changing clothes yeah, like.
Speaker 1Uh, someone came out sort of like cowboy outfit. We had a like skater skateboarder outfit, sort of a hip-hop street wear, and then, ken's had all those holes in it, but with rhinestones around everybody has some kind of bling in their clothing, yeah, and masaya had the like fringe on his pants and stuff, yeah, but like so.
Speaker 1So everybody sort of had their own little style going on right. For a while. They, they stepped away from the matching outfits and everybody was just sort of doing what they wanted. But they, they all got together, they played their own instruments, which is another thing this was what the acoustic you know, uh type, and he wasn't playing drums, he was wearing like a box drum.
Speaker 2Oh, how do you call that? Uh, well, it's sort of like the bucket bucket drumming only it wasn't a bucket, no, it was a box, but he had a cymbal and he had some chimes. I think his box drum, anyways, more like an acoustic kind of like yeah, chill out.
Speaker 1Richard was playing the saxophone. I know, wow, what.
Speaker 2That was so good when.
Speaker 1I saw that I'm like he's playing a tenor sax.
Speaker 2Oh my God, that was so good. That was so good. I'm like, yes, multi-talented boy, yes, Go Richard. And but we do like that. Of course they did some like blah blahs. You know they like they talk to each other, Of course.
Speaker 1They're a little MC.
Speaker 2We're like I don't know. We're like I don't know we don't.
Speaker 1We're like trying to catch some words. We're like what did they?
Speaker 2say they're asking everybody okay, yeah, I'm like okay. So we're just like, looked at them talking, laughing, we're like okay, we just don't know what they're saying.
Speaker 1Unfortunately, but yeah, so they did that, that whole little set, and then it seemed sort of like it was a medley of stuff they were doing and they were going around in the little like a group movers whatever you call the little stands that they they go around the audience with. But yeah, they, they did, though we had another song that we really liked. It was another holic. They did, though we had another song that we really liked.
Speaker 2It was another holic, tokyo, holic, tokyo holic. We like the holic songs Yep, that was a good one.
Speaker 1It was. That was sort of a step away from the silly, you know playfulness back to some more serious, you know kind of tunes, of tunes yeah, I like that.
Speaker 2They did medleys of some songs. Well, we remember. Well, there's one that we knew which would, uh, the answer, which naniwa danshi actually sang. So when I heard the tune I'm like, hey, wait a minute, I know this one. Yeah, this is cool. So sarah and I, we were wondering maybe they played, they sang other, you know group songs but we don't know because we're not super, yeah, familiar with the whole catalog of everybody else's stuff. So I was like I know that song well, that was um.
Speaker 1Yeah, that was sort of during what we thought was maybe medley, because I was like I feel like we're switching songs kind of quickly. But, they did the like ode to Osaka with all the. They were talking about food, you know like yakisoba and takoyaki, takoyaki, takoyaki. I was trying to say it fast and smooth. I failed, but which was funny and it was cute. They were sort of bounding around back to their playfulness and they did the the Ocha song.
Speaker 1I don't know what the song was, but they were Ocha and then they were like Ocha and then they changed it to like Recha.
Speaker 2Recha, recha, recha. And there was a picture of Richard on the back of the cups.
Speaker 1That was very clever, yes, but we were, I don't know, we were both singing along to that. We were like Ocha Ocha.
Speaker 2We know what Ocha that. We were like oh cha, oh cha. We know what oh cha is. I'm like, oh, they're singing about tea, tea, tea, tea. And then it's like re-cha Tea Cha. I'm like, yes, richard, of course I'm going to be singing about Richard oh my God, that was silly he's.
Speaker 1so that was cool, that was funny, that was very cute. Very silly of them, yeah but again a very clever, like play on his name and the tea, exactly, whatever the song was about.
Speaker 2So finally there was a song for him, even though in the middle before the guys were not able to sing anything about richard. So that was cool it was.
Speaker 1That was awesome.
Speaker 2Richard got his song his moment to shine but then, um oh, they started changing into the red outfits.
Speaker 1Yeah, they went back to. So this is another cool thing is they started out in sort of a a uniform, not a uniform, but like a matching outfits, right, you know a coordinated outfit and throughout the whole middle they were just sort of doing whatever they wanted. Some, however, they wanted to express themselves and at the end, as we're getting gearing up for the finale and the encores and stuff, they went back to a sort of coordinated right look in their costumes.
Speaker 2I loved those yeah, the red and black, oh those and cool.
Speaker 1Yeah they were. Some had plaid. They were like the zippers, the, the ripped, the sequins they had.
Speaker 2Everybody had a little bit of bling, but not too much, not too much, and jackets were more fitted in some, you know right, no, big, I'm baggy, I'm poofy and yeah, no, they look great they.
Speaker 1Yeah, those were, those were. If you're gonna do the matching costume kind of thing, that's the perfect style, right, because it was a little like I was saying. Some of it was reminiscent of the 80s punk clothes, you know, those plaid with the straps hanging and the zippers everywhere and the boots. Yeah, yeah, everybody looked amazing and they picked, they they sort of uh, I wouldn't say picked up um, they got a little more hard rock sounding. At that point the songs were a little more intense.
Speaker 2More edgy yeah.
Speaker 1A little more rock based. They were playing instruments again for part of it. Yeah, they were in the band. Yeah, like a band.
Speaker 2Ooh. But before they started all that, hello, Richard's bass solo. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1O-M-G. All of a sudden, you see this bass on stage. Spotlight in it.
Speaker 2And I'm like, oh okay, so what's going on and who's coming up From the shadows? But my boy, richard, I was like wow and wow. I'm like play that bass. You know I love bass. He was like slapping that bass. Oh my god, and everybody going crying. I'll be like one of those girls over there. There was one person there that you can hear her in silence and I'm like yep, everything's quiet I'm sure this person is like. That's me I am. I'm immortalized in that in that a group dvd.
Speaker 2Well, good for you, lady, whoever you are. Oh my god, you can. You'll be proud of that and more than once.
Speaker 1Yeah, more than once. It may not have been the same person, but more than once. It was like just completely quiet silence and one person was like I think it was the same lady it did.
Speaker 2It had that same tone. It was the same lady. So it did. It had that same tone, it was the same lady. So I'm like, like I'm going to say kudos to you. You're immortalized now in that DVD.
Speaker 1You can say that to me You're more than to shine. That was me.
Speaker 2That was me. I'm just, oh my God, but you know, kudos to you for being a super fan yeah, so um but yeah, oh, richard, yes, okay. So yeah, that's when they started with the whole like band everybody's.
Speaker 1Oh my, god, the hard rock like they were doing, like rock opera man it was like oh my god, your boy and his voice, I know right he was like wow, which song was that? Um, oh, good question breakthrough maybe. I think it might have been breakthrough okay, or stray dogs. Was it stray dogs? I know I know both of those songs were heavy right, yeah, and they were in the end there.
Speaker 1But yeah, he was doing his best. Rock, opera voice vocals Gave his all. He was screaming and growling into the microphone and then hitting those notes.
Speaker 2He was running that stage up and down and plus.
Speaker 1not only does he play guitar, like we saw from earlier, but he was playing the harmonica.
Speaker 2Yeah, he was. I was like wow, You'll be belching out those notes and then also playing the harmonica. Would you need your lungs? Mm-hmm.
Energetic Kansai Concert Recap
Speaker 1Wow. So it was Ken on keyboards, yes, masaya on drums, and then guitar was Masaka and Richard on bass, and they were I mean, they were rocking it, and that's another thing, right? Kansai also has the groups that do play their instruments and tend to gravitate towards that rock and roll style, like they like to have their fun and be playful, but then they also really want to be like rock stars, oh yeah they're just so extra, but it was, I mean, and that's when we had a little pyrotechnics, the fire going up in the background, yeah, that was like it suddenly became this rock show.
Speaker 1It was awesome. Yeah, the ending was epic. The yeah, the costumes, the music, the stage stuff going on. I mean everything about it was like right, epic, it was awesome. I loved it was epic wow, and that's why I was sort of hyper at the beginning of this, because we just sort of went this whole range of emotions through that show that yeah that whole concert was just really cool.
Speaker 1We were both surprised, though, when they were doing their little closing comments. None of them cried no, but probably because they were, they weren done, I think, with the tour when that particular DVD filming happened. So maybe everybody wasn't quite that emotional yet, but I loved we were watching, like when they were panning through the crowd, when they were doing their final little thing and they were running out into the as close to getting in the audience.
Speaker 1That was for like the encore songs, right, yeah, yeah and like you were like, look at that, look at that, like the age range, yes, of of people at the show was really incredible.
Speaker 2You have kids yeah, you have, you know, young adults.
Speaker 1You have adults, you have seniors I was gonna say, yeah, there was like a whole family, like four generations, right sitting together. That was awesome which exactly is.
Speaker 2Like you know, grandma mom and daughter.
Speaker 1They were there like yeah, you go ladies I hope they didn't all like the same member I didn't check their pen lights, I know I didn't check their pen lights.
Speaker 2I forgot to do that, I know, but you know it's cool and you know that you said pen light. Now that I say pen lights, I, I kind of I like that you can see like there's uh, fans that do like the same member. They kind of sit together. I hadn't noticed that. I was like, oh, there's that little group that, like you know, you know what is it? Your boy you'll say, yeah, oh, there's a little group, but there's like another that's like masako, and then it's like, wow, okay, all right, my richer was scattered, which is fine well, there were times where all of the pen lights were like purple, or they were all green, or they were when they were all doing their talks.
Speaker 1So yes, so people, whether it was the uh, the uh synchronized, you know automated synchronized lighting, or if people actually manually switched them for each member, I'm not sure because you'd still see you know a couple here and there of a different color, right? That's why I was like I don't know if it's, or maybe they just didn't sync theirs, because that's a very common thing now is having all the pen lights synced. So, based on where you're sitting, you know certain timing lights, different colors will come up, and right when it's a member they'll come up. So maybe those scattered few wrong colors were just people who didn't sync up correctly. Oh, change color.
Speaker 2Mine's still on red oops, but it was cool it was awesome it was cool that was a lot of fun.
Speaker 1So that's like I said. That's like I said. That's why I was a little like when we started recording, because I'm still like when we watch live streams or we watch DVDs Right, I always do have this sort of like just slight sense of that I'm actually there Like just for a few hours. I'm really there enjoying it and seeing it and watching it live.
Speaker 2So that's where I was at with this is I was the post-concert, you know excitement we're coming down from that because we just saw this and we have so much in our brain that we're like we need to capture all this. It's like over two hours of like wow you know in your face entertainment, yeah, and so much going on. You know, just like well and it's.
Speaker 1And even with stuff like this, I'm like do I get that post-concert amnesia where, because I'm like I think I'm remembering things out of order I am we, we did, I am Because.
Speaker 2I was like but I'm at the band. Something did happen before that. Hello Richard's playing the bass before, yes, they came up. I said you know, band, band. It's like, oh wait a minute.
Speaker 2You know, definitely. And like you say, yeah, like I almost forgot the baby when he did his solo song, oh my god, yeah. So you know, I love you night, whatever that is, and I'm sure we just forgot all the things too that happened. They did just, they did sing some slow songs and uh, which you know, for we don't know the lyrics too, yeah, but I mean yeah, which I'm sure, yeah, they're beautiful anyways. So these concerts are just like all out. Oh, yeah, definitely, you know, like, start of concerts are just all out, like, and then that was something, remember.
Speaker 1I was like, hey, wait a minute, I recognize one of those props. Oh, and.
Speaker 2I made a comment which I'm not gonna say and I'm like now you gotta chill, so it's just like the company goes all out for these shows, and I mean seven costume change. We counted right?
Speaker 1yeah, I think I definitely it was at least seven.
Speaker 2It might have been eight if you count the changing to their own, like merch, because you towards the end, it's just to put on their merch, right, yeah.
Speaker 1So yeah, might have, yeah, seven, eight costume changes. I mean that's crazy.
Speaker 2so much is just involved backstage. I mean, you got all the craziness going on stage. Forget about what's happening backstage.
Speaker 1I know Well, you know, because actually, when they came out to do their little talking, I meant to say to you that the team of people with the hair dryers were back there because ken came out and his hair was he'd been drenched in sweat, his hair was dry and his skin was dry. I was like, oh yeah, they had the people with the hair dryers clean around them all off before they went out for the final stuff so but yeah oh no, they're the teams of people who move those.
Speaker 1You know, we'll call them the a group movers, those little stands that like one or two people can stand on, and they it's. Those are manually pushed by people.
Speaker 2Yeah, around the the arena I mean they have to bring it up and down because you know they have it up and then when they're off the, you know the little stage they got to put them down.
Speaker 1What about the?
Speaker 2ones that are like on the upper tier, I know, yeah, it's like crazy.
Speaker 1I know, yeah, that was insane. The upper tier because there's the people move.
Speaker 2You know I'm calling the people in the artist movers are on the bottom and then, all of a sudden, on the last you know, on the encore, you see them on the bottom. And then, all of a sudden, on the last you know, on the encore, you see them on the like yeah, upper tier nosebleed balcony.
Speaker 1Yeah, they're out there crazy. Yeah, no, they definitely. Production value on the shows that starto does is insane. I mean it. It always has been, and but the fact that they can manage to keep it up is just incredible. They, they just don't let the ball drop when they're putting on a show no, it's great.
Speaker 2production is, like you know, like beyond 100. It's amazing, amazing. And because it's everybody's safety, everybody's safety, you know also everybody, from the audience, from the talent, even from the crew.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2I'm okay, I'm drinking soda instead of water. Oh, I see, so which is a no-no? It's like drinking a milkshake before you do number one tip okay, like I should know this, eat ice cream exactly while you are trying to broadcast on air, or you know before or during. No, you are to only drink water busting the cardinal rules I needed a little bit of sugar ah so I went with this. I tried to shake, to shake the gaseous out of the soda, the gaseous out of the soda.
Speaker 1Look at me, I didn't know you could do that Making up words you can, but it's just shake the gas out, like burping your beets or radishes or whatever.
Speaker 2I do want to say that I learned that from from something that I saw. Should I say it? I don't know, I learned that from a host, really, okay, I'm gonna leave it like that, but anyways, that's another topic we're not to talk about that. We are here for a group. Oh my god, that was cool. So let's leave it like that. Yeah, no, lately we've been talking about too much about hosts, so anyways, any other words?
Speaker 1well, I was gonna say so if you're looking for a new Starto talent to follow Jockey Beauty 2. Yeah, check out A-Group. The DVD just came out, yes, recently, december 4th, I think you said that earlier. Right? Yes, so it's there. If you're hearing this in time, good Christmas present for your start to fan, you know, family member or cousin and friends If they haven't buy it, you know buy it. Okay, I don't know.
